A school superintendent in the Atlanta area this week doubled down on his promise to protect students from “pornographic material” after critics called for him to be removed for banning books.
Superintendent Chris Ragsdale of the Cobb County School District faced both critics and supporters at a heated school board meeting on Thursday, where he emphasized his “professional and moral obligation to protect Cobb’s students.”
“I, as superintendent, will not knowingly allow children in the Cobb County School District to access lewd, vulgar, sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic material,” Ragsdale said,

Former President Donald Trump is warning America’s auto workers that President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda will outsource their jobs to China as the United Auto Workers (UAW) goes on strike against General Motors (GM), Ford, and Stellantis.
As Breitbart News Economics Editor John Carney details, nearly 13,000 UAW members have started striking against three automakers as contract negotiations have yet to deliver assurances that Biden’s rapid push for Electric Vehicles (EVs) will not jeopardize their wages and jobs.
“The Biden administration has been pushing policies to electrify most new vehicles within a decade or so,” Carney writes. “That rush toward electric vehicles will mean a rapid decline in payrolls for autoworkers

Former Vice President Mike Pence said he'd be open to having a female vice president- but wouldn't say if he'd dine with her alone.
Pence appeared at a town hall with Leland Vittert on NewsNation Wednesday and was asked about his much-talked-about deal the Republican struck with his wife Karen to never dine alone with another woman.
Vittert then asked if that same rule would apply with a woman vice president - as presidents and vice presidents often have official lunches as part of their schedule.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that '80 is the new 40' when asked during Friday's briefing about how President Joe Biden, 80, plans to address concerns about his advanced age as he runs for reelection.
A late August AP-NORC poll found that 77 percent of Americans believe Biden is too old to be effective for four more years - with 69 percent of Democrats agreeing.
A Wall Street Journal poll from earlier this month had similar findings, with 73 percent of voters saying Biden is too old to run again, including two-thirds of Democrats.

The oldest historical evidence of so-called homosexuality is probably the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah found in the Jewish Bible which heavenly shower of sulfur and brimstone G-d gets Abraham to witness. Therefore, it’s reasonable to assume that the temptation to engage in perverse behavior there is as old as civilization and thus part of the human condition. The question, then, is how to deal with it.
Think of the Ten Commandments given to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. Those words say that people must not engage in certain behaviors (e.g., disrespecting parents, lying, stealing, adultery, murder). Seventy percent of the Ten Commandments are negatives: “Thou shalt not…”

Every book published prior to 2008 has been removed from a public high school library in Canada to ensure that kids are not exposed to non-inclusivity. Yes, you read that correctly. Imagine the surprise of students at Erindale Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario, when they entered the school's library last spring to discover...empty shelves. Staff told them, "If the shelves look emptier right now it's because we have to remove all books [published] prior to 2008."
Why? Because "The Peel District School Board works to ensure that the books available in our school libraries are culturally responsive, relevant, inclusive,

The horrific scene unfolded around 2:40 p.m. at Divino Nino on Morris Avenue in the Kingsbridge neighborhood, where the four tots — the 1-year-old boy, two 2-year-old boys and an 8-month-old girl — were found unresponsive in the basement, sources said.
The children had gone down for naps and were supposed to wake up at 2:30 p.m., sources said. They had all eaten something about 90 minutes earlier.

HOW BIG CAN TRUMP'S LEAD GET? If you thought former President Donald Trump's lead over the Republican field in national polls could not get any bigger — you thought wrong. The three most recent major polls, conducted in the last 10 days, show Trump with a lead of 47, 48, and 50 points, respectively. In the RealClearPolitics average of all polls, his lead is 43.9 points — higher than it has ever been.
One of the new polls is from Fox News, and it shows Trump with 60% support, with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in second place, at 13%, 47 points behind Trump. DeSantis is barely ahead of entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy,

A certain conventional wisdom about the 2024 presidential race has dominated political discourse for much of this year: Donald Trump is unstoppable when it comes to winning the Republican nomination but cannot hope to retake the White House come the general election.
What endears him to his party’s base repels the independent and moderate voters he needs to win the presidency. So, Joe Biden is clear favorite to be elected for a second term.
That conventional wisdom is now smashed to smithereens – and not in a good way, for those who don’t want to see Trump back in the Oval Office.

President Joe Biden is trumpeting Medicare’s new powers to negotiate directly with drugmakers on the cost of prescription medications — but a poll shows that any immediate political boost that Biden gets for enacting the overwhelmingly popular policy may be limited.
Three-quarters of Americans, or 76%, favor allowing the federal health care program for the elderly to negotiate prices for certain prescription drugs. That includes strong majorities of Democrats (86%) and Republicans (66%), according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. About one in five Americans are neutral on the issue, while 6% outright oppose it.

There was a time, shortly after the 2022 elections, when Ron DeSantis became, at least in the minds of people who back their predictions with money, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Indeed, when 2023 started, DeSantis outpaced the combined field among bettors.
It was sensible. DeSantis won the 2018 Florida gubernatorial election in a very unfavorable environment for the GOP. On a disappointing night for Republicans (at least compared to expectations), DeSantis won his gubernatorial reelection bid by almost 20 points, smashing the previous Republican margin of victory in the state for that office. However, political rival and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently attacked Trump over his record on COVID, claiming that Dr. Anthony Fauci had boasted how the former president had taken all his instructions during the pandemic.

President Joe Biden made some rather odd and seemingly racist comments during a recent press conference. While addressing reporters, he touted the benefits of “Bidenomics” over “MAGAnomics,” and claimed that he brought back jobs after the COVID-19 pandemic. But while making his case, he seemed to imply that most black and Hispanic Americans do not have high-school diplomas.
A closer listen reveals the actual point Biden was trying to make, but since the left made certain rules about this kind of thing, then everyone should be criticizing him for being a virulent racist who won’t even drink black coffee.

Most Americans look forward to retirement, especially those who’ve enjoyed a successful career and built up a solid nest egg.
Take U.S. senators, for example. After years in the public eye and media crosshairs, you’d think they’d enjoy a well earned break.
Finally, they can kick up their Gucci loafers at one of their many vacation homes, lazily shuffle millions between tax shelters and enjoy beach time with their wealthy children – at least those who still talk to them. But that’s not the choice most politicos make. Instead, they keep a bony grip on their Senate desks, refusing to budge unless ejected by voters or the Grim Reaper.

It’s a true reflection of the sad state of our justice system that we have to be suspicious of anything it does. When we first learned that Hunter Biden would likely be indicted, I was skeptical and felt that even if Special Counsel David Weiss did indict him, it would be a ruse. Still, when the indictments came down on Thursday, it was hard not to feel somewhat elated—but that suspicion still nags at me.
Seriously, does anyone believe that Hunter Biden will actually face any jail time? Would Weiss, one of the architects of Hunter’s ridiculous plea deal, actually put Hunter Biden behind bars? I don’t.

Hunter Biden's legal team is clearly not happy about all the scrutiny, especially in the wake of a three-count indictment over a gun purchase.
The younger Biden's top defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, sent a ton of documents to congressional committees on Thursday. As part of the submission, he included a cover letter that blasted House Republicans for their investigations into his client, according to POLITICO. The letter, which they published in full here, appears to be less of a defense of his client and more of a partisan attack. Calls are growing for Democrats to find an alternative to President Biden before the next election. With the first primary contests a few months away, is it too late for them to find a viable replacement? The short answer is no, but time is running out.
Biden would either need to face a serious primary challenge now or decide to step down later. Either method would make history in the modern era. Pathway 1: The Democratic primary. Democrats already have a process in place to find a new candidate for the general election. That is the presidential primary. Democrat voters will head to the polls from January to June next year

Two big questions (and lots of little ones) are on my mind today.
The first big one is, how often is a bill practically unanimous in a state legislature?
There’s a bill in California that seeks to ban driverless trucks over 10,000 lbs. Since cargo trucks can usually weigh as much as 80,000 lbs total (that’s counting everything – the vehicle, the cargo, the driver, a full tank of fuel, etc.), this bill covers everything from straight trucks to semi-trailers and similar big rigs.
The ban – through at least 2031 – passed the state assembly in Sacramento back in May, 69 to 4.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy set social media ablaze on Thursday after he pushed back against a reporter’s assertion that he launched an impeachment inquiry "without evidence.""AP reported that McCarthy's impeachment inquiry was launched ‘without evidence,’" GOP operative Arthur Schwartz posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday. "Here’s McCarthy forcing an AP reporter to admit that there was lots of evidence to support an impeachment inquiry."
In the clip, AP reporter Farnoush Amiri asked McCarthy about fellow Republicans who have said that the investigation into President Biden has yet to show an impeachable offense at this point.

You don’t need to be a political genius to see that this Hunter Biden indictment is an obvious smokescreen for the White House and Democrats on Capitol Hill.
The three-part indictment is very simple and straightforward and could’ve been brought a long time ago… so why this week? Why does it come after a rough opening to September for Democrats, with horrible polls released concerning Joe Biden’s age and approval ratings — and particularly the same week that Republicans finally pulled the trigger on an impeachment inquiry?
First, it serves to muddy the waters. The counts in these indictments have nothing to do with what Republicans are doing

At this point, the people in power behind the scenes at the White House have to be pulling their hair out over this question: How do you solve a problem like Joe Biden?
As I wrote on Thursday, among the bad things he said were weird comments about Gov. Wes Moore's biceps and a racist comment about "African Americans, Hispanic workers, and veterans" as "you know, the workers without high school diplomas."
He also just can't stop making things up and telling bizarre falsehoods. People trying to be charitable sometimes refer to these fantasies as trying to relate to their audience. But when you are falsely stealing an aspect

Striking Hollywood actors and writers escalated their war with the studios this week, participating in a joint march in Los Angeles that clogged the streets of the Hollywood neighborhood as protestors marched Tuesday from Netflix offices to the historic Paramount lot.
Meanwhile, the actors union fired off an acrimonious salvo, accusing the studios and streamers of refusing to return to the bargaining table, with SAG-AFTRA leadership calling executives “petty tyrants.”
The escalation is the latest sign that the historic strikes that have brought most of the industry to a standstill won’t be resolved any time soon. With little leverage to work with, and even less public goodwill,

Having previously read and his manifesto some years ago, I have been revisiting the Unabomber's treatise on technology and its toxic effects on society and individual psychology.
(I feel compelled -- not out of moral obligation, because I believe any rational person is capable of separating the message from the messenger but because of rampant targeting by the state of so-called "domestic terrorists," a category to which I have surely been relegated on some government list somewhere – to caution that I do not endorse mailing bombs or any variety of offensive violence in any form.)
Here he is taking a magnifying glass and a razor-sharp scalpel to leftist psychology.

A rising Republican star tipped by many to be Donald Trump's running mate should he win the presidential nomination has been involved in a clandestine affair for years, multiple sources tell DailyMail.com.
Married South Dakota governor Kristi Noem, 51 – who stresses her belief in 'family values' – and Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski, who is also married, began carrying on in 2019, if not before.
Now news of the relationship threatens to wreck Noem's chances of joining Trump's ticket in a potential rematch with President Joe Biden.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals extended a reprieve for the 1,000-foot buoy barrier in the Rio Grande River at Eagle Pass, Texas. Texas can keep the barrier up for at least 3 more weeks.
The next hearing is set for October 5 on whether or not the buoy barrier is illegal.
Last week Judge David A. Ezra ruled that Governor Greg Abbott must remove the floating buoy barrier he deployed without asking for federal permission. Abbott’s deadline was today, September 15.
This week that deadline is no longer in effect. Governor Abbott expects the case to go to the Supreme Court, at least that is what he hopes.

As Spencer wrote on Thursday, the looming gun charges that were part of that aborted sweetheart plea deal for Hunter returned in the form of new indictments, courtesy of Special Counsel David Weiss. Don’t be fooled. Hunter isn’t going to face any legal reckoning or jail time. It’s another legal shield supplied by Weiss, who’s been talking out of both sides of his mouth throughout this fiasco. Yes, he tried to charge Hunter, but he also allowed some of the more serious tax violations to atrophy, thanks to the statute of limitations. He was a driving force behind the original sweetheart deal that got wrecked

The tiny Italian island of Lampedusa should be a holiday paradise. The most southerly territory of Italy lies exactly between that country and north Africa. With a population of around 6,000, beautiful beaches, bars and restaurants it should be the perfect island get-away. But in recent years it has become a nightmare. And a petri dish for the problems that we are all going to go through in the 21st century. Especially America. The island’s history was always tricky. In the 1500s North African pirates raided the island, stole the whole population and took them off into slavery.

While discussing the pay raises demanded by the UAW in negotiations and pay raises for CEOs, Farley said that they have offered pay raises and are open to big pay increases, but the 40% that the UAW is asking for is too much and would put the company out of

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is trumpeting Medicare’s new powers to negotiate directly with drugmakers on the cost of prescription medications — but a new poll shows that any immediate political boost that Biden gets for enacting the overwhelmingly popular policy may be limited.

The continuing purge of the dead wood that is the post-Reagan establishment “conservative” political class continues apace, though at a ferociously slow rate that threatens the future of the nation.
Mitt Romney has finally gotten the message:

The country's southern province of al-Suwayda', whose population primarily comes from the Druze minority, is currently witnessing protests on an unprecedented scale.
There has also been a definite paradigm shift in these protests: ... Calls for the government to resign, for the departure of President Bashar al-Assad and a political transition are now stronger and more prevalent.
However much one might sympathise with the protests, they are probably unlikely to shift the situation in a significant way. The protestors, although immensely courageous, are too few, and have little leverage.

Are non-white voters really moving away from the Democratic Party? To partisan Democrats confronting this question on Twitter (sorry, X), it seems preposterous that the party of former President Donald Trump, whom they routinely call a racist, could be gaining support from blacks, Hispanics and Asians.
But the evidence for eroding non-white support for Democrats is strong. The New York Times' analyst Nate Cohn, who back in June 2016 was the first to identify Trump's appeal to previously Democratic-voting white non-college graduates, noted earlier this month that President Joe Biden was carrying just 53% of non-whites in 2022-23 New York Times/Siena College polls

When the progressive woke revolution took over traditional America, matters soon reached the level of the ridiculous.
Take the following examples of woke craziness and hypocrisy, perhaps the last best witnessed during Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution.
The Biden administration, from its outset, wished to neuter immigration law. It sought to radically alter the demography of the U.S. by stopping the border wall and allowing anyone who could walk across the southern border into the United States.

Before whistleblower and IRS agent Gary Shapley went public with allegations that he was being sandbagged in his investigation of Hunter Biden by DOJ officials, he was promptly removed from his position. Now, we know why. According to testimony made before the House Ways and Means Committee, Shapley was removed after a recommendation from Darrell Waldon, who was the IRS Special Agent in Charge of the criminal inquiry at the time. It is concerning that Shapley would be removed for "perceived" bias that even Waldon felt was completely unsubstantiated. Also of note is that the timing of Waldon's recommendation

Twenty-two years ago this month, the deadliest attack on U.S. soil ever was carried out by a despicable band of terrorist extremists.
Those attacks, on September 11, 2001, claimed the lives of 2,977 innocent people – and devastated countless others in the aftermath.
But while 9/11 would be used to justify everything from government spying on U.S. citizens to a full-scale invasion of Iraq, there’s something many people don’t know.
The majority of the terrorists responsible for 9/11 were not from Iraq or Afghanistan – the countries we chose to invade in response to the attacks.

Wednesday's Cabinet meeting was most interesting. After a minute of introduction, President Biden turned the meeting over to his wife Jill, who continued to run it. This allows us a glimpse into the Democrat presidential strategy for 2024: run Jill Biden.
In order for Jill to win the Democrat nomination for president, she needs to do several important things:
1. Box out Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, and Gavin Newsom.
2. Maintain DNC support for Joe.
3. Keep Democrat contributors in line.
4. Do more and more of the president's job now.

We can imagine the White House summer meeting as President Joe Biden’s handlers, whoever they might be, desperately tried to figure out how boost his flagging favorability ratings among voters. Some genius, no doubt, shouted out “Bidenomics!” as just the ticket to repair his tattered reputation. They rolled it out and, well, Americans still aren’t buying it.
On Thursday, Biden’s people pushed him out once again to flog the nearly dead Bidenomics horse. At an appearance in Maryland touted by the administration as a “major” economic address, Biden told voters that his agenda is about “investing in

A union representing nearly 150,000 autoworkers launched a strike early Friday morning against the Big 3 U.S. automakers -- General Motors, Ford and Stellantis.
The United Auto Workers, or UAW, and the car manufacturers failed to reach a contract agreement before a deadline set by the union for Thursday at 11:59 p.m. ET. Less than two hours before the deadline, UAW president Shawn Fain announced the plants where union members would strike if a tentative agreement wasn't reached in time. By midnight Friday, that amounted to approximately 12,700 union workers, including ones at GM in Wentzville, Missouri; Stellantis in Toledo, Ohio; and Ford’s Wayne, Michigan plant.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a bill Wednesday that officially ends the state’s ban on official travel to conservative states that had enacted laws that Democrats claim are anti-LGBTQ. The ban had been a total failure.

The ban caused difficulties for many state agencies, researchers, student athletes and others who rely on state money. Even supporters of the ban acknowledged that the law was not having the deterrent effect it was intended to

When you look past the faux bravado and lame talking points from the White House, it’s quite clear they are panicking over this impeachment inquiry. I can’t blame them; they likely never believed that House Speaker McCarthy would ever get behind it — and for a long time, he wasn’t behind it at all. For sure, there were some rogue efforts to impeach Biden early on, but they weren’t serious. But Biden came into office with the dark cloud of his $1 billion Ukraine quid pro quo hanging over him, and House Republicans followed the breadcrumbs to a trove of evidence that made it impossible not to launch

Today the NY Times published a story about the big business of moving migrants from South America through an area called the Darién gap.
Every step through the jungle, there is money to be made.
The boat ride to reach the rainforest: $40. A guide on the treacherous route once you start walking: $170. A porter to carry your backpack over the muddy mountains: $100. A plate of chicken and rice after arduous climbing: $10. Special, all-inclusive packages to make the perilous slog faster and more bearable, with tents, boots and other necessities: $500, or more.
Hundreds of thousands of migrants are now pouring through a sliver
