John Hawkins’ Culturcidal blog at Substack is often a great place to see interesting discussion of important topics, especially on Democrats, and Hawkins’ latest entry is no exception. In a post Monday, Hawkins noted that tons of statistics out there indicate a level of gloom in America that perhaps hasn’t truly existed until now. But something Hawkins pointed out was particularly striking. He caught part of a podcast in which lefty pundit Tim Ferriss was interviewing marketing guru Seth Godin, and Ferriss said this:

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has axed the dress code that requires legislators to wear professional attire on the Senate floor months after Sen. John Fetterman was slammed for wearing a hoodie.
Schumer (D-NY) quietly directed the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms to stop enforcing the dress code that mandates male senators wear a jacket and tie and female senators a dress or other businesswear on the floor, Axios reported Sunday.
The change in policy comes after Fetterman (D-PA) was bashed by conservatives for donning a hoodie, gym shorts and sneakers to the chamber. Many called his casual fashion choices disrespectful.

Joint Base Charleston, an air base in North Charleston, said it was working with Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort to "locate an F-35 that was involved in a mishap" Sunday afternoon. The pilot was able to safely eject from the aircraft, an F-35B Lightning II jet, and was taken to a local medical center in stable condition, it said in a Facebook post around 5:35 p.m. ET.

Nipah virus is classified as a zoonotic disease, meaning it can jump from animals to humans.
It was first identified after an outbreak in Malaysian pig farmers in 1999.
It then popped up in Bangladesh in 2001 and outbreaks occur there annually, along with eastern India, the World Health Organisation (WHO) stated. More than 100 people have died of Nipah. It is spread from secretions from animals, through contaminated food and contact with the tissue of sick animals.
