Ask Alan Dershowitz about other people’s opinions and he’d likely say, “There's no such thing as a false idea or a false opinion.” The Harvard constitutional law professor emeritus and celebrated defense attorney made that observation during an interview August 9 in reference to some of Donald Trump’s legal travails, but Dershowitz’s analysis could just as easily apply to the broader society. At least it should.Until recently, simple opinions were unremarkable; people would observe things and formulate a point of view. Not everyone would agree with a particular opinion, but that’s okay,

Republicans continue to sour on former Vice President Mike Pence, the latest survey from the Economist/YouGov found.
Republicans remain relatively split regarding their opinions on presidential hopeful Pence. Overall, 47 percent have a very or somewhat favorable view of the former vice president, compared to 45 percent who have an unfavorable view. For greater perspective, according to a summary of the survey, 89 percent of Republicans had a favorable view of Pence prior to the 2020 presidential election.

As of now, House Republicans have removed funds from the FY 2024 budget for the controversial $3.5 billion proposed relocation of the FBI’s Washington, D.C. headquarters to a new complex at one of three locations in the D.C. suburbs of Virginia or Maryland.
Some House Republicans want to keep the FBI headquarters at its current location and view the relocation proposal as unwise and wasteful. Others want to downsize, defund or eliminate the Bureau – and not to reward it with a sprawling new headquarters complex – because they believe it has been weaponized against conservatives.

Judge Chutkan is going to gag Trump in the middle of a presidential campaign!
Trump’s lawyer appeared before Obama-appointed Judge Tanya Chutkan Friday morning for a hearing on a proposed gag order.
Judge Chutkan gave Trump only ONE DAY to respond to a motion for protective order (gag order) filed by dirty Jack Smith rather than give him the standard 14 days.
Chutkan signaled she will gag Trump in the middle of a presidential campaign.

There’s a group of people who control what you are allowed to see – the news you read, the videos you watch, the posts you engage with.
You haven’t heard of them. You don’t know their names, but they determine, through methods both direct and indirect, whether you are allowed to be exposed to particular messages. Their decisions can bankrupt companies, silence voices and fundamentally shift cultural norms. Who are these people and how do they do this?
Well, at the top level you have a network of global elites who have created a universal framework full of guidelines and ratings designed to enforce “approved” narratives and punish disapproved ones.

Since Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui’s June 1995 visit to his alma mater, Cornell University, to give the commencement address, China has reacted with coercive measures against Taiwan. Lee’s visit was used by Beijing to launch a series of ballistic missiles into the waters around the island. Beijing reaction caused the Third Taiwan Straits Crisis of 1995-1996. Unlike the previous crises of 1954-1955 and 1958, the Third Crisis demonstrated Beijing’s growing capabilities to implement a blockade or invasion of Taiwan.
Since the late-1990s, China’s military capabilities have grown spectacularly to the point where they are a formidable danger to the U.S., its allies, and to Taiwan.

Special counsel Jack Smith's team obtained a search warrant in January for records related to former President Donald Trump's Twitter account, and a judge levied a $350,000 fine on the company for a delay in complying, according to court documents released Wednesday.
The details were included in a decision from the federal appeals court in Washington rejecting Twitter's claim that it should not have been held in contempt or sanctioned.
X, the San Francisco-based platform formerly known as Twitter, sent an automated reply to a request for comment, saying it would respond soon.

A Russian soprano — once among the biggest stars in the Metropolitan Opera — is suing the company for alleged breach of contract, defamation and other violations when they dropped her after the start of Moscow’s war on Ukraine.
Anna Netrebko, 51, who had voiced pro-Kremlin views over the years, said the Met Opera’s decision to cut ties left her with ”severe mental anguish and emotional distress” and tanked her reputation, according to the lawsuit filed Friday in Manhattan federal court.

Gun sales do not seem to be affected by the Biden economy or the inflation that has come with it. July of this year marked 48 straight months of record gun sales.
People are obviously concerned about crime, but one of the other things driving this is the constant threat of greater gun control from Democrats.
People used to call Obama the world’s greatest gun salesman, but this trend has continued even with him out of office.

In April, the Democratic Party announced it would no longer use its longtime lawyer Marc Elias, and now we know why. The Democrats got tired of losing, or as Axios put it, Elias’ approach often “backfired.”
Elias himself does not tire of losing, and here’s why. His lawsuits — parading as a fight for “democracy” by tearing down voter ID, secure drop boxes, and signature matching — have nothing to do with our nation’s interests. Instead, as Elias’ allies admitted to Axios, his work is nothing more than “a political strategy that is actually a business strategy,”

Reedley Chinese COVID Lab Received Tax Credit of $360,000 From Gov. Newsom’s ‘GO-Biz’
At the epicenter of current controversy, an illegal California lab run by a Chinese biotech firm, Prestige Biotech, was recently discovered in a warehouse in Reedley, California. The lab contained mice which were genetically engineered to spread COVID-19.
According to National Review, “court documents further showed that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) conducted tests on the more than 800 chemicals found at the site and that over 20 infectious agents were found present, including Hepatitis B and C, streptococcus pneumonia, chlamydia, rubella, and Herpes 1 and 5.” As a federal investigation is underway,

With each new piece of shocking evidence that Joe Biden, as vice president, engaged with his son in a foreign bribery scheme, the national media react with something along the lines of, “But, ya know, in the end, Republicans haven’t yet proven anything in their Republican-y investigations.”
Devon Archer, a former business partner of Biden’s son Hunter, testified Monday to Congress that Joe Biden had been included on calls between the two partners by speakerphone. That’s in contradiction to the president’s repeated claim that when it comes to Hunter’s unreal professional life, he’s Helen Keller in a burka. Those speakerphone calls happened at least 20 times, according to Archer’s testimony.
