A majority of Americans - and an overwhelming number of Democrats - no longer support First Amendment protections for free speech.
The government should restrict “false” information online, even if doing so blocks people from “publishing or accessing information,” 55 percent of Americans said in a large poll released Thursday. Only 42 percent disagreed.
The antipathy to free speech represents a sea change in attitudes in just five years. It is driven by a powerful new hostility to First Amendment rights on the left.
In an identically worded poll five years ago, Democrats and Republicans favored free speech online by roughly 3 to 2 margins. Today

Stupid people are easily propagandized. So far, the numbers of states required to change the Constitution aren't there.
But, I wonder how long the Constitution stands?

Democrats say whatever they like, so they certainly protect their first amendment rights.

Historical ignorance is running rampant in America due to the lack of proper history education. We are overrun with stupid citizens. Just watch any "man on the street" question session. When you can't name the 1st President of the United States or when was the Civil War was fought or who bombed Pearl Harbor, yes, you are in trouble as a nation. I have the right to stand on a street corner and pronounce the covid pandemic a deception. And you have the right to ignore me. Pray for America as we truly are in a crisis situation.

Can see this happening. At times, Democrats and Republicans appear to be opposite sides of the same dirty coin and I find myself not siding with anyone. Dumb dishonest people elect dumb dishonest leaders. Our leaders really are a reflection of its population. Embarrassing, isn't it. The march towards centralized government continues. We'll look like Russia and China in no time.

This stuff is being preached, cajoled, and demanded daily in almost every level of education from K-12 to universities. It is no surprise that their brainwashing is working. The biggest surprise is why parents aren't rebelling and either demanding changes or pulling their kids (and $$$) out of these propaganda factories.

Unfortunately poster #7, many of the parents are just as ignorant of our country's history as their offspring. The brainwashing has been going on for awhile. Howard Zinn's POS "A People's History of the United States" full of distortions and outright lies has been used in schools since the early 80s.

This is the direct result of our education (sorry indoctrination) system which is full of radical leftist teachers and professors. People no longer have the ability to think critically, or with some even think at all. What these unthinking people don't seem to understand is who determines what is false and what is true. If the government wants to hide something, they will claim the opposing, conflicting information is false. And we know our government isn't above lying to the American people (Covid, vaccine, wars, etc etc.)

Whatever happened to, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? Apparently, the Derrida Generation either never heard of that old bromide or more likely, has just rejected it because they have been raised to think they are too special to ever be the subject of criticism.

Hey "headline writers" ... summer's got a LONG way to go. PS Warmists, no summer hurricanes yet ?
CNN is actually bringing back past weather EVENTS that had names like they were actually happening NOW.
Of course no CNNdroid would notice "old news". Check it out.

Maybe I missed it, but nowhere in this article, nor its link, do I see the breakdown of percentages of political affiliation for those polled. If these numbers are accurate, it indicates a great deal of fear from the left that they are losing the sociopolitical narrative.

If this is an accurate poll of the collective American mindset, then the Constitution is only a relic. In which case, America has fallen. And Rome stayed in Italy, even as the Roman Empire collapsed.
