One Republican in Congress proposed stopping the flow of money to special counsel Jack Smith to rein in his federal investigation into former President Donald Trump.
After Trump announced on Tuesday that he received a “target letter” in the 2020 election portion of the inquiry, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said that he was planning to introduce legislation to defund the endeavor.“I will be introducing legislation to DEFUND Jack Smith’s witch hunt against President Trump,” Gaetz said in a tweet. “They are attacking our democracy and engaging in election interference right now. The United States Congress has the capability to stop this election interference, and we must act immediately!”

Conservative radio host and litigator Mark Levin accused U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, Special Counsel Jack Smith, and a variety of state and local prosecutors of interfering in the 2024 election Tuesday. In a blistering post on Twitter, shortly after news broke that former President Donald Trump was a target of Smith’s grand jury investigation, Levin accused prosecutors of trying to smear Trump and disqualify him. (Tweet) Levin wrote, in part:
The seriousness of what is being done to Donald Trump by local and federal Democrat prosecutors cannot be overstated. It is alarming. It is shocking.

WASHINGTON — President Biden leaned heavily on his notes Tuesday while welcoming Israeli President Isaac Herzog to the Oval Office — as left-wing Democrats lined up to boycott Herzog’s scheduled speech at the Capitol in protest of the Jewish state’s policies toward Palestinians. “This is a friendship, I believe, that is just simply unbreakable — unbreakable,” said Biden, who read from notecards on his lap rather than look Herzog in the face for much of his roughly one-minute of public remarks before journalists were removed from the room.

President Joe Biden welcomed President Isaac Herzog of Israel to the White House on Tuesday, but attention quickly shifted from the importance of the allies' meeting to whether Biden would make it through the photo opportunity with members of the press intact. As cameras rolled, Biden told the president of Israel that he doesn't remember "two-thirds" of the past 75 years since Israel was established. Most of those, of course, Biden served in the United States Senate. (Tweet/Video) Biden then proceeded to make remarks to his counterpart — a critical ally of the United States in the Middle East —

Disgraced Disney CEO Bob Iger “put roughly a third of the company up for sale this week,” Bloomberg Business reports.
According to the report, the sale announcement was a subtle but unmistakable one. Iger made the announcement during his disastrous CNBC interview last week, where he was caught lying with the false claim that Disney is not sexualizing children.
By declaring its cable and broadcast TV assets “noncore,” the report says, Iger told the world ABC TV, the FX cable networks, National Geographic, and Freeform are all for sale. He’s also looking for a partner for the failing ESPN.

Joe Biden has allowed more than half a million migrants to enter the U.S. legally since taking office, the highest levels since the 1990s, according to unpublished data first obtained by CBS News.
The president's administration has welcomed over 500,000 aliens over the past two years under programs designed to reduce the number of illegals who try to sneak across the border with Mexico.
CBS News reported the increase in legal arrivals came after U.S. officials used what is known as 'parole authority' to allow foreigners who lack visas to come to America.

Back on June 8, two massive political stories broke, but ONLY one of them got covered by the broadcast networks.
On June 8, former President Donald Trump was indicted by the Special Counsel in the classified documents case. That very same day, it was reported that President Joe Biden had allegedly received $5 million dollars from an executive of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, the same company in which his son Hunter was involved.
Over 39 days (June 8-morning of July 18) the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) broadcast networks crammed their evening, morning and Sunday roundtable shows with a total of 527 minutes of coverage dedicated to the Trump indictment.

Are Democrats forfeiting the 2024 election?
In the Republican Party, Donald Trump has plenty of critics who say he can't win next year.
To test that hypothesis, a strong slate of candidates is running as an alternative to him.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott, former governors Nikki Haley and Chris Christie and the rest have their chance to convince voters they can do better.
So far, polls show Republicans sticking with Trump -- and show Trump with a fair chance of beating Biden.
In national surveys where he trails, Trump is often behind by just a point or two, but national polls actually underestimated Trump's support

Wray’s efforts to portray himself as in the dark on many scandals while insisting he is a hands-on administrator cuts against . . . well . . . both Wrays.

The needle on my schadenfreude meter jumped so hard to the right that it’s stuck there in red zone, where my soul is endangered by excessive pleasure in the suffering of another. It must be because I find Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau such a phony doofus (snip) last month he found himself caught between his urges to pander to the trans movement on the one hand, and his longstanding desire to be perceived as the champion of Muslims in Canada, (snip)
Believing Muslims don’t want their children indoctrinated in schools with ideology being pushed by the trans movement in North America.

Never forget that Disney dumped Sound of Freedom, a box office sensation currently making tens of millions of dollars in profit for Angel Studios.
Yes, the Walt Disney Co. owned Sound of Freedom. It was its movie, and Disney not only dumped it, but for nearly five years, Disney sat on Sound of Freedom, refusing to release it into theaters, stream it on its various streaming services, or sell it back to the producers.
Sound of Freedom was completed in 2018 and then acquired by 20th Century Fox (or 21st Century Fox) for theatrical distribution. In 2019, Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and all of its entertainment assets, including Sound of Freedom.

Senate Democrats are advancing a doomed Supreme Court “ethics” bill that would withhold $10 million in funding from Chief Justice John Roberts until the Supreme Court has “put into effect a code” for all justices.
The Senate doesn’t have the power to dictate how the Supreme Court conducts its business — any more than SCOTUS has the power to prescribe rules for the Senate. They know it. Then again, the effort to intimidate and delegitimize the court is meant to corrode constitutional governance, so perhaps the bill makes a certain amount of perverse sense.

Oh boy.
Malik Obama said his brother Barack Obama is “definitely gay” in response to the former president’s statement on banning porn books for children.
“Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.” Barack Obama said.

Fox News published its promotional video of its rehashed primetime lineup earlier Monday, marking a new era for the broadcasting giant following the controversial firing of Tucker Carlson.
The new lineup debuts tonight, Monday, at 7 pm, with a new slogan that aims to take a veiled jab at Carlson, declaring they’ve found “The Right Voices at the Right Time.” A move that appears to imply Carlson was not the “right voice” for their platform.

Another massive plume of smoke from Canada hit the lower 48 on Monday, with air quality in some half of US states expected to be impacted at least through Tuesday.
Smoke swept through US cities and states on the East Coast Monday, prompting local health authorities to issue air quality warnings and request that people with health issues that may make them vulnerable to smoke to stay inside.
Code Orange air quality - meaning quality that will impact vulnerable populations - is expected to hit 23 states through Tuesday and will include population hubs like Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Nashville - all of which were also blanketed in smoke on Monday.

If there was any confusion left about who Lia Thomas really is (besides being a man), this latest development settles the issue once and for all.
Thomas initially gained fame for dominating NCAA women’s swimming as a “transgender” athlete. Prior to that, he had languished for years competing against his biological peers in the men’s league.
Interspersed with what was being seen in public at the time was a battle behind the scenes. As multiple women have testified, Thomas invaded women’s locker rooms, flaunting his decidedly male genitalia with no care for their comfort. Meanwhile, college administrators essentially threatened the female athletes who objected, asserting that the issue was decided

The consequences of avoiding reality are killing us … literally!
American leaders and policy makers in the 21st century should have paid attention to the profound wisdom put forth by Ayn Rand in the last Millennium:
“You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.”
It pinpoints the basis for countless problems in America run by Democrats in recent years, clarifying why they occurred.
Consider the following illustrations:
1. “You can avoid [the brain-dead] reality” of funding coronavirus gain-of-function research in a communist country whose long-term goal is to destroy you, “but you cannot avoid
the consequences of avoiding [that] reality.”

Don’t you just love primaries? It’s a time when people who generally get along just fine turn into Yankees and Red Sox fans on a bender during the playoffs. It’s not fun to be around, and it’s not all that much fun to be a part of. Unless it’s happening to Democrats, of course, in which case you root for as long of a fight as possible. But this year it’s not happening to Democrats, at least not yet, it’s happening to Republicans, and there’s a better than average chance it’ll screw up the country going forward.

call for a Constitutional Convention of States under Article V of the U.S. Constitution grows louder. The pretext used is the desire to reign in the out-of-control government spending and corruption in Congress. Governments across the globe are nudged by globalists to institute digital currency and, in the U.S., the Constitution stands in the way and it must be modified.
Proponents of such a convention even found escapees from communist regimes like Cuba and Venezuela and are using them to make public statements that such a convention would prevent communism from taking hold in this country, a ludicrous idea.

Georgia's Supreme Court declined to take up Donald Trump's request to block an investigation into his efforts to overturn the state's results in the 2020 election.
Trump's legal team sought on Friday an intervention by the Supreme Court, arguing that the district attorney was using grand juries incorrectly.
They wanted them to block the investigation currently being carried out by the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. She has signaled that indictments could be handed down in the next few weeks in the election-related probe as a grand jury convenes to consider possible charges.

Massachusetts officials are now asking residents to take border crossers and illegal aliens into their homes as illegal immigration continues adding to the state’s homeless population.
Gov. Maura Healey (D) is calling on residents with empty bedrooms in their homes and apartments to consider taking in border crossers and illegal aliens, WBUR reports:
Massachusetts officials are seeking residents willing to host newly arrived families in need of shelter. Hosts are asked to provide a room or apartment for a few days, until longer-term accommodations can be arranged. [Emphasis added]
A significant portion of the families in need of housing in the state are new immigrants.

Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris received a round of applause when she said “when we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.” And with that, she pulled back the curtain to expose one of the many horrors that is usually endorsed not quite so openly by the political left.
We acknowledge that Harris might have lost another one of the many battles she and her White House boss have with teleprompters and public speaking in general. The official transcript scrubs “population” and replaces it

The Biden family opened more than 20 shell companies to hide payments and launder money, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said Sunday.
After reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) at the Treasury and subpoenaing banks and individuals, Comer posted on Twitter that the Biden family created more than 20 entities to accept, forward, and collect payment from a wide range of business associates.“We found all these shell companies that make absolutely no sense,” Comer told Fox News. “I don’t believe they have paid a penny of revenue, a penny of taxes on most of the millions of dollars they received from our adversaries around the world.”

Former President Barack Obama wrote a letter defending LGBTQ+ books in children’s schools and public libraries as Republican-led states move to restrict them amid growing concern from parents.
“Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives,” Obama tweeted along with a letter. “And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.”
