On July 17, 1996, TWA Flight 800 left JFK airport in New York City heading east to Paris. Twelve minutes after its 8:19 departure the doomed 747 blew up off the south coast of Long Island, killing all 230 souls aboard.
On August 23, 1996, the New York Times reported on its front page, above the fold right, “Prime Evidence Found That Device Exploded in Cabin of Flight 800.” According to the Times, only the FBI’s uncertainty about whether the device was a bomb or a missile kept it from declaring TWA 800’s destruction a crime.
On that same day, above the fold left, was the headline, “Clinton Signs Bill Cutting Welfare;

Having recently become a 9/11 Truther, I know the list of government coverups is long.
As Blakelock said in The Gauntlet, "....we could control the media then, too...."

Re #1....Jack is on the right track, depending on what you mean by "9/11 truther" you may be way on the wrong track.
The twin towers absolutely WERE taken down by the aircraft and the resulting fires. Laughable expert structural engineers like Rosey have put out their hare brained theories.....and they are totally BS. The building was a very unusual structural design, with all the primary strength in the exterior folded stainless steel skin, but with critical internal cross bracing provided by the floor bar trusses, pretty much identical to what you see a big box store with an open overhead. When these bar trusses were heated by the burning jet fuel, carpet and furnishings, they weakened and dropped out....leaving the critical external skin, with big slashes from the aircraft entry also weakening it, unsupported. The failure was a exterior skin buckling, much like a pop can with a 75 lb top load....fine until you thump it to disturb the unbraced interior. Fill a pop can with spray foam and it will hold amazing loads....can't buckle. This is what the internal floor cross trusses provided.
As to Flight 800. the story of the fuel tanks exploding is pure BS. It is absolutely impossible for fuel tanks to explode, regardless of ANY ignition source unless they are opened up and huge amounts of fresh air blown in. Any sealed fuel tank, including your car, evaporates enough fuel into the closed space that the fuel air mixture is TOO RICH to ignite. This may seem counter intuitive, but I assure you that your electric fuel gauge and electric fuel pump in your car's gas tank will never ignite the fuel vapor, unless you drain the tank and open it up and add air. Only then can the mixture get diluted enough to reach the burnable level.
Note that nothing was actually done to change airliner fuel tanks or their design.....because they cannot explode, regardless of faulty wiring or whatever. Too high a concentration of fuel vapors to ignite.

Jack has been covering the TWA800 bombing since day 1 and I've followed all news sources since then as. The FBI took over the investigation from the NTSB which isn't prodigal. When the remains of the plane were housed in a huge warehouse, pieces of the plane were missing, moved and tags swapped according to a documentary on EPIX called TWA 800 disaster. You can find it on YouTube. It is by far the most informative documentary I've seen.
I think the FBI has gone rogue for several decades. Something needs to be done to prevent them from overstepping and violating our Constitution.

Considering facts that emerged just 5 years later, I don’t believe the official explanation for TWA 800. But I take it one step further and ask whether the plane was shot down in error at all. Would the “shot down by the Navy by accident” story be more palatable than “shot down by terrorists despite a U.S. Navy vessel nearby”?

Re #4, there was a large scale USN antiaircraft missile exercise going on at the time, and best info is that a US guided missile cruiser in the immediate area accidentally fired a live missile rather than the electronic "bang" and simulated launch as a training exercise.

Hard to believe that all of the personnel aboard a Navy ship could keep a secret like that. Impossible to believe. That's the main reason I don't believe in any conspiracies. People can't keep secrets because of their egos.

Re #6 - How many former US Secret Service or White House employees do you ever hear talk about what they saw/heard while working in the White House?

TWA 800 was brought down by a bomb, the corrupt Clinton's covered it up, The WTC was brought down by the planes. Although WTC #7 wasn't and is very suspicious.

Many of today's federal government ills and managed dysfunction had their inception under the Clintons. Go pack in the archives and you will find Washington Post reporting on the weaponization of the IRS against conservatives. The excuse was, they had an ethical obligation to pass on to the IRS any claim of tax malfeasance made to the White House. Conservatives didn't send their claims of wrongdoing to the White House, of course. The White House became an amplifier and imparter of credibility to every Letist whack job in the Country who wanted to harass their local conservatives with administrative state action.

Having worked around diesel fuel and kerosene all of my life, I knew the fuel tank story was total BS. Knowing the effects of heat on steel being a welder also made the collapse of the buildings quite believable. It seems to me the FBI went out of their way to allow the saudis to accomplish their task. Just sayin.

I have a great deal of respect for #2's technical expertise, but it's beyond my credulity that 270 some stories of real estate (twin towers and tower 7) would drop straight down, having been "hit" asymmetrically, random heat application, etc. I don't have enough faith to be an atheist either.
