The Biden administration announced Friday that it would forgive $39 billion in student loans for 804,000 borrowers, explaining it had pursued certain fixes to existing income-driven-repayment plans.
“For far too long, borrowers fell through the cracks of a broken system that failed to keep accurate track of their progress towards forgiveness,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in a written statement.
These income-driven plans set a forgiveness threshold of 20 or 25 years. Borrowers must make payments that qualify over this period — payments that can be as low as $0 based on an individual’s income and family situation.
“By fixing past administrative failures, we are ensuring everyone gets the forgiveness they deserve,

A Nobel Prize-winning physicist has criticized alarmist climate predictions and said that he does not believe that there is a climate crisis. During his speech at the “Quantum Korea 2023” event, Dr. John Clauser said, “I don’t believe there is a climate crisis,” according to a report by Seoul Economic Daily that has been translated into English by the CO2 Coalition. Clauser added that “key processes are exaggerated and misunderstood by approximately 200 times” and accused the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of spreading misinformation.

President Biden appeared to nibble at the shoulder of a startled little girl during his departure from Helsinki, Finland, on Thursday.
A video of the incident, which took place as the president greeted embassy staff members and their families before he boarded Air Force One at Helsinki-Vantaan International Airport, shows Biden leaning into a young girl and placing his mouth on her shoulder as he nibbled lightly.
The little girl – who appeared frightened during the experience – later turned her head when Biden, who will turn 81 this November, tried to give her a peck on the head.

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), a candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said Thursday on NewsNation’s “Cuomo” that he would not pardon former President Donald Trump if he were found guilty in the classified documents case.
Anchor Chris Cuomo asked, “Would you even consider pardoning Trump or Biden whatever the combination of, you know, parties to any action or at that time, would you even consider that as president?”
Christie said, “I can’t imagine a circumstance, as we see it right now, let’s say with the documents case, which is the only one that the president would have jurisdiction over, given what’s alleged in the indictment, if that were proven, and

During an interview with Tucker Carlson on Friday, former vice president Mike Pence defended his view that the U.S. can both support Ukraine’s efforts to repel the Russian invasion and solve the many domestic problems plaguing the country.
During the interview at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit in Iowa, Pence criticized President Biden for signaling “incredible weakness” abroad on the Ukrainian conflict and on the United States’ “disastrous” withdrawal from Afghanistan. He accused the Biden administration of being “slow in providing military support” to the Ukrainians.

Back on June 18, 2021, The Gateway Pundit was the first national website to post on the mysterious Ray Epps and his bizarre antics caught on video in Washington DC on January 5th and 6th.
On the eve of the January 6th protests, a middle-aged man in a MAGA hat showed up, defended Antifa, and told the crowd they needed to “go into the Capitol” on Jan. 6. The man made the demands while standing next to Antifa organizer John Sullivan.

Last night, Fox News host Jessie Watters, like the rest of the nation, couldn’t stomach the United States Secret Service’s conclusion that it couldn’t figure out who brought cocaine into the White House. The law enforcement agency has the names of 500 individuals in or around the vestibule where the drugs were discovered, but supposedly no video evidence that can zero in on a person of interest. Due to the lack of a solid suspect, the agency is closing its investigation. Katie had more on this yesterday. She included the statement from the Secret Service:

Ron DeSantis’s once-vaunted presidential bid is in freefall. In the latest ominous sign for the Florida governor, Rupert Murdoch’s media empire appears to be distancing itself from his candidacy, with once-supportive outlets from Fox News and the New York Post to The Wall Street Journal highlighting his flagging poll numbers, his policy inconsistencies, and his cringeworthy attempts to connect with voters in key primary states.
Should the DeSantis campaign fizzle out, comparisons with previous GOP stars-turned-flops like Jeb Bush, his predecessor in Tallahassee, are inevitable. But a more revealing analogy for DeSantis is to the most disappointing candidacy in the 2020 Democratic field: that of Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

President Joe Biden on Thursday issued an executive order authorizing the Pentagon to call reservists to active duty “for the effective conduct” of U.S. military support to Ukraine.
At the same time, the Pentagon designated the U.S. military support to Ukraine since 2014 under Operation Atlantic Resolve a “contingency operation.”Biden wrote in a message to Congress:
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 121 and 12304 of title 10, United States Code, I hereby determine that it is necessary to augment the active Armed Forces of the United States for

The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) announced Thursday that it had concluded its investigation into the cocaine found at the White House and was unable to identify a suspect.. (snip)Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said the case was “the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” Burchett told reporters that the bag contained less than a gram of cocaine. “Y’all have all been to the White House. You give your Social Security number, you get, I mean, I’m sure they have facial identification and everything else, and to say that they don’t know who it is, to me, somebody should lose their job over this, a lot of people,”

Sherlock Holmes famously found a clue in the dog that didn’t bark in The Hound of the Baskervilles. I wonder if we may have a similar clue in the explanation offered by the Secret Service for dropping its investigation into the cocaine found in the White House after only 11 days, with no drug testing of suspects? (snip) "On July 12, the Secret Service received the FBI’s laboratory results, which did not develop latent fingerprints and insufficient DNA was present for investigative comparisons." How is it possible to handle a plastic baggie and not leave a fingerprint, or at least a fragment or trace of one?

Why the long face, John Kerry?
The former Secretary of State and current “Climate Czar” looked most unhappy yesterday as he appeared before a Congressional hearing. No wonder. It seems Kerry never expected to actually be questioned about his special role.
Indeed he seems to have thought that the position given to him by the President not only entitled him to year-round perks, but to lifelong immunity from criticism.
Kerry has been in his role since January 2021.
Since that time his office has said that he reports simply and solely to the President.
During his time in office he has jetted around the world to explain why other people shouldn’t use jets.
