Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. denounced the United States Supreme Court ruling striking down affirmative action, prompting a wave of criticism from Americans. Kennedy said in a Thursday tweet that he believes historically racist policies are now “self-perpetuating” and need to be corrected with affirmative action, which uses quotas or special preference in admitting or hiring racial and ethnic minority groups.[Snip]“Well, my interest in the Kennedy candidacy has just dropped 75%. Too bad. He was interesting for a short period of time,” tweeted a U.S. Navy veteran living in Japan.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy strongly disagrees with Mr. Kennedy pointing out that “the majority of black students at Harvard ae not descendants of slaves but descendants of immigrants. Giving special preferences to someone who ‘looks like’ a person who once suffered is not justice.”

Typical yankee. We in the southern states should welcome 'immigrants' (illegal aliens) and treat them well. But don't send them to the wealthy enclaves in the northeast because they pitch the biggest tantrum ever seen then bus them off to some other place. Affirmative action was a step up for many blacks. But it's been what, 60 years? - they have had access to everything white students have had. They don't need special consideration anymore.

A reminder that RFK-Jr is a Democ'RAT at heart, even if he breaks with 'The Narrative' on a few issues.

Some have been promoting the notion that he was becoming a conservative voice. This might give them second thoughts about that.

He's right about vaccines, and he's not Biden. Otherwise, he's just one more deluded Democrat.

Hmmmm....RFK's inner Kennedy is showing. The fruit never really falls far from the tree, does it? So far, he's mostly talked about Ukraine and vaccines, about which his beliefs resonate with a lot of voters. But what are his views on other issues....social justice....wokeness....those sorts of things? Not so clear on social issues.

Let’s stop for a minute or two…
What happened to the ‘one on one’ personal interview? Over lunch, perhaps, to get to know the person?
It works in employment, why not school?

There goes RFK's Howard Dean scream moment, he's done.
By his logic, all of the poor white boys killed in WW2 and Vietnam should have earned their families preferred college admission, all of the families of the California Japanese citizens who were illegally imprisoned should receive preferred college admission. The Golden Calf era for blacks has gone on long enough. Not only have they received preferential treatment in college education and employment but they have caused colleges to lower the bar so much that the current level of education is practically useless for those who really want to learn. Ketanji Brown Jackson effectively proved that point with her temper tantrum.

Demonstrating his status as a left wing ideology whatever feathers he is using as camouflage these days. He is clearly his father's son apparently without the womanizing.

Might as well pull out of the race now. Claiming, 'I am Biden - without dementia', is probably not a good enough reason to vote for him.

To anyone who was enamored of JFK Jr, you should have known better. His two-hour podcast interview with Jordan Peterson on Daily Wire Plus would have given you a clearer picture of this Kennedy who is a pluperfect Democrat: He is not to be trusted and is no different than his other political relatives. Kennedy calls himself an “environmentalist”. Take him at his word, I beg you. He hold very few what can be called conservative ideas; everything else is textbook radical Left. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN.

Discrimination is ILLEGAL, Bobby. It should never be legal. When push comes to shove Bobby is a Democrat. That makes him unacceptable, even if he is right on a few things.

Now here's a snake in the grass. Conservatives doing what we do. We find someone who makes sense about one thing that may be considered conservative, and we want him on our ticket. He's screaming to us that he's not what we gullibly believe he is, and we need to listen and let him be. He's a Kennedy, a democrat, and a leftist. Stop with this he's one of us silliness, please. I agree with other posters who have their eyes wide open to the tactics of infiltrators and subversives.

His uncle JFK was enrolled at Hartford. He wasn’t a great student. His father had influence. John McCain’s father was an Admiral and McCain went to a service academy-graduating at the bottom of his class. Biden’s granddaughter is another one. These legacy admissions and other admissions based on race only serve to cheat someone more deserving.

At his heart he's a Demonrat, and they just are so racist to their core, they are CERTAIN that blacks cannot succeed on their own, and must have racism help them. THAT is anti-black racism, just twisted around.

This guy sure is trying to stake out some interesting territory. He does have to win over the base, in order to get the nomination, and this statement is classic democrat. I wouldn’t vote for him because I no longer vote for democrats, but if the GOPe screw us over in the primaries, who knows what will happen? I can guarantee you one thing. If the ruling Republican elite force a candidate on the base that they don’t want, the elite will not get the result they think they will.

I’m sorry, did I miss the vociferous objections to affirmative action from Bush era administrations? Ivy League elitists, Kennedy, Bush, Clinton, Obama have the same cynical view of race, class individuals and the state.
Do not allow individuals to grasp the idea that success is achieved by the individual, not groups. Kennedy’s view is consistent with the Republican establishment, ya know, those who despise trump and his supporters.
