Late last December, while shopping at Target, I noticed something peculiar about the wrapping paper in Christmas clearance merchandise: Nobody was buying the gay pride-themed items, despite the fact that they were marked down to 90 cents a roll. I wrote about that here.
Now that there's been a hullaballoo at Target over its aggressive merchandising of LGBTQ+ promotional items, which drove its stock down for a period, and forced it to move its prominent displays in some outlets, how are those sales going? Well, on a visit to Target on Balboa Avenue in San Diego on May 30, where the merchandise had just been pulled back from immediate visibility

It's affirmational activist in your face marketing outside of the brand's Goldilocks zone. The product can be successful within a small niche. The gay population buys what everyone else buys.

Corporate wokeness reminds me of what I like to say about Super Bowl ads.
Advertisers sometimes forget that the purpose of an ad is to SELL and MOVE product. So what if your 30,60, or 120 second ad buy at millions of dollars a minute is a cinematic masterpiece? How much product did it sell?
Same thing here. That's nice virtue signalling. But how much money did you lose -- and how little product did you sell? If you had put product that was wanted by your customers, how much more would you have made. Okay, put the Pride stuff in a good location for a day or two if you want to massage your woke ego. But then make some money after that. After all, that's why you're in business.
If I was crass, I'd say that this might be the only merchandise that ISN'T being shoplifted in California. Maybe they can amend that law so that if you steal Pride merchandise, you can steal $2000 before it's no longer a misdemeanor. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Doesn't matter. The amount of smug self-satisfaction these clowns will accrue from their virtue signalling and pandering to a rather small special interest group will far outweigh the bath they cause their company to take on all of this unmovable inventory.

I have noticed 'Pride' bakery items in some grocery stores. Cookies, cake, and donuts with rainbow stripes. Didn't look like much, if any, was selling.

jp morgan chase, blackrock, vanguard and state street, and by extension investors, and taxpayers will cover Target and others' virtue signalling.
Jamie Dimond said it is imperative that the banking/investment industry drive social change.

It doesn't matter if it is not bought. It is virtue signaling. They get bonus points from the alphabet people and they will leave them alone.

The focus is not the customer wants or needs - it's how high can you raise your 'social score'. I recall when this concept first started making waves in Asian countries. We were appalled at the implications of it 'over there'. So naturally - Leftists here had to embrace it here, fully. China has already won. Thanx Joe.

Target, like Anhauser Busch, has its testicles squeezed hard by the LGBT Mafia. “Keep that stuff on the shelves if you know what’s good for your health!”

I do NOT have to celebrate anyone's sexual preferences ! Christians are not allowed to display the Nativity scene on any public property.
But rainbow flags can fly at the WH. Why dont the manufactures of these extremely fugley clothes open their own stores to sell their products? Why do they need department stores to push their products.

I discussed this with my spouse a few days ago that the gay and lesbian crowd that just wanted to live their lives not on display were hijacked by the LGBTQ+ mafia. Being affiliated with the T trans, + pedophiles and drag queens was not to their advantage. Now all the LGBTQ+ are judged together this is going to be the hill they chose to die on unless we all submit which isn't going to happen. It's going to be a hard lesson to learn when it comes to 'virtue signaling'.

Target was after increasing their ESG score with Blackrock, Vanguard, and others. That the gay stuff didn't sell doesn't matter. Some of those items may end up being mixed in with ungay stuff in future in hopes it might get sold. However, even if it doesn't sell, the money they get from the big investment firms will more than offset any losses they may have incurred.

I like brightly colored clothes. Since retiring from the military I will not wear camo or earth tones of any kind. So I have migrated to neon, tie dye and Hawaii shirts. These freaks have made it very difficult for me to shop since every bright color seems to celebrate some perversion or other that I do not want to celebrate. I'll be glad when this foolish fad passes.

#5, those entities are using the investment money they receive, and one of the main areas they receive money from is public pension funds (i.e. CalPers).
It is these public entities who are pushing the direction to these investment banks.
So, it's public officials, politicians, who are driving the agenda.

The local Hannaford's in my rural New England town has a full rack of "pride" picnic supplies (cups, plates, napkins) which have looked fully stocked for the last two weeks.
