You can have all the facts on your side and still lose an argument. How? Because the other side is not bound by facts, they’re arguing emotion, and emotion always overrides facts. It sounds stupid, it is stupid, but it’s also true. Think about the things you’ve apologized for in your life – I’d give you odds it was for things you said in the heat of the moment, not after thinking about the situation in a cool, rational way. That emotion factor is a big part of why Republicans always seem to get rolled when it comes to policy debates, but it’s not the only reason.

Republicans and other Conservatives lose all the time because Democrats and other Leftist/Socialists have as their 1st rule that the ends justifies the means. Democrats have no morals or belief that lying is wrong so long as it moves their objectives closer to reality. Their chief objective is to destroy all of the institutions that made America the country it is today and to as the chief destroyer Obama said, to Fundamentally Change the Country once and for all. And as a result of that change, they want to assure that they remain in power perpetually and that Conservatism, Capitalism and the concept of American Exceptionalism die and never be heard of again.

The " rules " are whatever the left says they are. Meaning.there are no rules. They play dirty and play for keeps.
Their club motto is " By any means necessary ".

RINOS, a huge part of why "Republicans" lose so much. They're just as bad, or worse, than the commie demonrats.

It's all very true. We had Donald Trump who was willing to fight and many Republicans were clutching their pearls and running for the smelling salts. Even on lucianne here we have many coming out saying why can't he be a little nicer does he have to be so bombastic, if he would just be nicer the other side would be nicer too. Hopefully Republicans will learn before it's too late.

#3 is dead on target. Republicans have RINOs, Democrats simply don’t tolerate any such dissent. This should fought on two fronts. Expose and drive RINOs out. Also encourage and support the so called ‘moderates’ among ‘Rats to come out.

Also.... do not underestimate the power of the Media.
As Joseph Goebbels said:
"Tell a Lie often enough and long enough, and most of the people will believe it as the truth."
The Democ'RATS tell the Lies, then the Lamestream Media (ABC/NBC/CBS/NPR/MSNBC/NYSlymes/WaPooPoo etc) repeat it, over and over and over, and many people believe what they say to be true.
There are what.... 330,000,000 people in the USA, and there is a lot going on.
Trying to keep up with all that is going on is like trying to drink from a fire hose... you can only absorb a little bit.
The Lamestreams flood the average American's attention with drivel, when there is important stuff going on, which they bury nice and deep.
As the motto of one of the worst of the Liars says "Democracy Dies in Darkness." and they keep any FACTS that do Not fit The Narrative buried "6 feet under".
In discussions with friends and family, I find that most of the differences that crop up are because we get our news from different places. As a seeker of truth, Lucianne is one of my 'go-to' sources. Friends of mine who get their news from the evening TV news, or worse, the liars on the late-night TV talk shows, have NO IDEA of the bulk of what is going on. They allow the TV networks to lead them around by the nose, and they have no idea that it is going on.
I think it was Andrew Breitbart who said that "Law is Downstream from Culture".
What we should concentrate on is Changing the Culture. One way to do this is to apply Social Pressure to the Lamestreams.
I believe we should start 'raising sand' with the TV News when they fabricate a story, or repeat a lie they have told earlier.
As -I think it was Democ'RAT Rep. Maxine Water said.... "Make THEM Uncomfortable in Public Places."
Confront THEM -and I mean the TV executives, producers, presenters- at restaurants or wherever you may bump into them.
Make THEM aware that what they are doing is WRONG, and a LOT of people are ANGRY.... at THEM!
I think that if enough people start calling the TV stations and 'raising sand' when their news presenters distort the truth outright LIE, that it will not take too long before they start to change their tune.
After all, that is what the extremists on the Left have been doing for years, and the TV News kowtows to the Left continually, and in doing so, has a very strong influence on the Culture.

The author of this piece castigates Rep. Comer for saying his hearings have a legislative purpose rather than an effort to identify corruption and pave the way to indictments. House hearings are solely held for legislative purposes so Comer has to say that. His committee cannot indict anyone.

Semantics and a common definition of terms are called for here. While I do not profess to have the "correct" definition or view point, my observations stem from over 4 decades of military and law enforcement experience. It has become popular to the point of routine on L.com to accuse Republican politicians of being "wimpy." Holding up Trump as the paragon of a "fighter" presupposes that one defines "fighting" as employing extreme verbiage against perceived political opponents, whether or not such an opponent is from the opposite or same political ideology, some of whom may even be erstwhile allies. That pro-Trump definition of a fighter is very narrow and while it may be a good attribute of an aggressive debater, it is wholly insufficient to stop a Marxist/communist insurgency or neutralize criminals seeking to do bodily harm to innocent individuals. Those tossing out the "wimpy" epithets are unlikely to actually "fight," subjecting themselves to bodily harm or inflicting bodily harm against criminal attempts to hurt their fellow citizens. Our country was born of citizen-fighters in the true sense of the words "citizen" and "fighter," and may require another generation to step up to prevent the destruction and dissolution of the country as we know it.

We lose because we simply don't know how to fight. We think reporting on dem crimes produces bombshells, and we think talking (albeit intelligent) results in takedowns. Meanwhile, cheaters get away with cheating and stealing, and their power grows and grows. They're untouchable, they know it, but we think we're going to convince the public that we'll get them one day. Talking is going to get the job done. Riiight. . .

#8 Spot on, nailed it, hit the nail on the head, etc. comment. Problem is though, the next generation are not fighters. IMO it will take a huge catastrophe, either natural or man made, to force the majority class or flyovers to actually fight. #6, half right IMO. The power of the lame Pravda media is vast in its influence, upon minorities, youth, and suburban women . Change the culture? I think it is too far gone to ever return to what it was before. I agree that a majority of people have no idea of what is actually happening in this country. Two of my close friends, very conservative men, do not allow themselves to be concerned because they say, "What can I do about it? I just live my life and try to be happy." or "I grieved losing my country in 2008. Now I consider it gone forever" One former friend said, "Trump is a snake" and "Biden is a good man", but that degree of lunacy was too much for me.

Whoever is better organized wins. Corporate media has an agenda and is part of the organization. Does anyone believe that the Washington Post owned by Amazon is going to fairly report on China when their whole business is based on distributing their products. Crony capitalism includes a media aligned with government power. The idea that they are a watchdog for freedom is way over. They sold out long ago and are severely compromised.

The Republican party is a FAKE OPPOSITION PARTY. This explains why America is on its death bed if not already dead. We need our own party, we need a MAGA party.

Hang on a minute Mr Hunter. You make the point that the big networks don't even report Rep Comer's findings, then you go on to suggest Republicans should run 30 second spots on TV informing the public about Dem corruption??? Who exactly would run these 30 second spots? The problem IS THE MEDIA. Something has to change. 90% of the media is Dem propaganda and outright lies! I am not sure how to change this, but nothing will improve until our media changes course.

Republicans lose 'often' because a significant number of them are corrupt as well! To a lesser extent now that they're out of power, and maybe they're not as greedy, but the subtle ,,, or not so subtle influence is there in all of Politics.
Can Comer come right out and say MacConnell is a crook. Or Miss Lindsay is influenced by the Arms and Ammunition Industry? Or Mike Lee takes contributions from the Techhies. And they ALL take money from the Pharmaceuticals.
If a candidate comes out and says that he is doomed and will receive no $upport to run and be elected. Which is maybe why an independently wealthy individual is more likely to change things for the Peopleas opposed to big money interests.
Sound like anybody you might have heard of?

Republicans lose because of:
Democrats are corrupt and play for keeps.
Too many spineless RINOs.
Over 90% of the media support the democrats.

I wouldn't say the House Republicans are not in the game...it's just the rats keep moving the goal posts...but they are learning how to play the game better than they have in a long while.....

Only the Republican base loses. Republican electeds don't lose because they're playing on the side of the Uniparty. The Democrats are their team mates. If Townhall commentators like Derek Hunter haven't figured that out yet, they are either really stupid or complicit and continuing the lie. They give us these cute little ideas such as "30 seconds of truth", like that's really going to happen. These articles are sops to string along the faithful...keep voting for Republicans, they just might wake up someday!

They lose because they do not want to win. Too much trouble to voice an opinion which might disturb a constituent or a lobbyist or whomever keeps the money coming in at election time. They can always voice an opinion one minute to midnight which will have no effect, but check some fake concern box for them. I do not mean all Republicans; thank God for those who love their country more than they love the perks they receive for the offices they hold.

Possibly little self inflicted wounds that go almost unnoticed?
In 2020 before the Georgia Senate runoff the democrats announced support for another $3000 covid stimulus bill, Donald Trump echoed his support. Mitch McConnell announced he would not support the bill.
Might that have caused hard hit rural republicans to not come to the polls? Something happened, they did not show up, and the Republicans lost the seats.
Just before the 2022 election, Lindsey Graham announced his federal abortion ban, in time for the democrats to blast it out in all their campaign propaganda.
Could this have boosted democrat turnout nationwide? Hmm.
And Mitch pulled back millions in campaign funds from his giant war chest.
And then just before the senate runoff in Georgia, Mitch announced his support for Schumer's 3 trillion porkulus bill. Once again, it appeared that rural Republicans in Georgia exhibited a reluctance to make it to the polls. And Mitch lost the Senate. Possibly a feeling of "What's the point" among Republicans?

Spot on article!! And I love the idea of 30 second spots educating the public on what the left is doing. I've said it before: Conservatives need less "crossers of the aisle" and more "callers of the bullschiff!!"
