The New York Times reported that the Biden administration will abuse EPA regulations to eliminate most real car sales by 2030. The plan is to force 67% of car sales to be electric by 2032. Most Americans won’t be able to afford them, but they’ll have no other options.
Even the cheapest electric cars, which are still far more expensive than their real car counterparts and are just one battery problem away from turning into mostly unusable junk, are out of the price range of the majority of Americans who need an income of $80,000 to make an EV auto loan work. That’s fine in Washington D.C. where

This if fear mongering nonsense. Biden will be dead by then and President Trump will put this EV nonsense in the grave with his filthy corpse.

Ahhh- but fear not! The government ( read taxpayer) will quickly step in to subsidize the purchase for those " low income" Americans.

Many of those who can 'work' an EV loan will have to sleep in the streets and eat dog food in order to do it. The real plan is that a vast number of Americans (70 or 80 percent, take your pick) will not be expected to use personal transportation. Only the Left Wing Elite - equivalent of the Soviet era 'nomenklatura' will possess their own transportation and live in houses they own. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE PLAN. Wake up!!

Well, this will keep the value of the truck and SUV that we currently own high - maybe even higher than it is now. We actually have no plans to buy anything newer than what we currently have ( 2012 & 2016)

It is not a bug, it's a feature. The goal of the left has never been to force people to buy EVs. The electric grid would never support it. The goal is to force most people to ride mass transit.

Can't wait to see how people in The Bronx charge their cars. Parking is scarce in many neighborhoods, and there is no room to build tens of thousands of charging stations. Plus, thieves will (eventually) learn how to steal the copper wiring without getting electrocuted.

Clearly, those pulling the strings of the brain dead Biden want this country to become weaker so it can be taken over....with the puppet masters being put in charge. Except for the cities, no one else has access to regular public transit. In NJ, you can only take public transit if you are going to New York, Philadelphia or Newark. Otherwise, a car is essential. Sooner or later, these is going to be a REAL insurrection....and the Dems will be the targets.

Poster #4 has it right - the intent is that the common folk will not own any personal conveyance apart from a bicycle. Should you need to travel in your limited allowed area, you can use public transportation. And poster #9 should forget those older ICE autos - there'll be no parts or gasoline to support their use and they will be banned from the "public" throughways and uninsurable. All in the name of saving us from the imaginary monster CO2.
Meanwhile, Kerry the Statesman, Leo the Movie Star, Bill the Philanthropist, George the Meddler, and Klaus the Supreme will still continue to fly on their private jets to meet and discuss how to deal with the "commoner" problem...

Cost isn't the only issue.....EVs DO NOT WORK worth a darn for what a huge portion of people need. If your only trips are short distances to and from places where you can charge it....that sorta works, although extremely expensive.
But if you need to commute significant distances or regularly travel for work or fun....too damned bad, you can't do it without hours and hours of delays with the stupid batteries taking forever to charge up.

We can keep our ICE vehicles but what to do when the Greeniecoms make buying fuel difficult? At least one city in CO is prohibiting new gas stations from being built.

All part of America's economic implosion policy.
All according to design.
No private transportation.
No private housing.
Minimal personal belongings.
Protect yourself as best you can.
The people running this nation want EVERYTHING.
And they are looking for a fight.
Not sure it would be wise to give them one.

Actually, he is banning far more than 53%. EVs will wipe out the used car market. Used cars are realizable and economical. EVs have no used car value as the cost to replace a dead battery is more than the car is worth. Thus, EVs are one and done. One and done leaves no cars in the used car market. And needless to say, minorities, single moms/women/birthing person and children will be hit hardest.

And even the people who can afford EVs will not have the kind of transportation independence we know now. The electricity is to recharge them is centrally generated and monitored. Blackouts can be used selectively as a means of control. You cannot hoard electricity.

A large portion of Americans have never owned a new car, have never been in a financial condition to buy a new car, and never will. And this is with normal, fairly affordable gas cars, not the horribly expensive and "I'm sorry we don't make batteries for that model any more. Yes, I know it's only three years old." EVs.
If you can't buy new normal cars, people will hang on to them, repair them "forever" - ending the flow of used cars into the market - and preventing a lot of people from getting another car. If you can't really afford anything but a 8 or 10 year old used car, and can't afford to fix the engine or transmission when it eventually wears out - and many cannot, ever - they will be unable to own a car.
The Dems would call that a big win....forcing people out of cars altogther.

There is no public transportation that can satisfy the need for movement to work or to shop for groceries. Older people will not be serviced by public transportation. Fifty three percent of the people cannot afford an EV for transportation. America will be at a standstill and many will suffer or die.
