New York Magazine has no problem engaging in what leftists would decry as blatant gay shaming, so long as the target is Republican. On Thursday, the paper published its latest hit piece on Republican Rep. George Santos, the freshman lawmaker who, after he was elected in New York’s 3rd congressional district on Long Island, was caught fabricating his resume.
“George Santos, MAGA It Girl,” headlined the article (snip) there’s almost nothing in the more than 3,000-word column to suggest Santos is the new Republican “it girl.” The article is more a feature piece from a mid-level staffer than a snarky profile of the freshman representative, but it’s definitely still both.

Donald Trump was once again the keynote speaker at CPAC this year, with the conservative conference largely being tailored around him since he first entered the White House.
After winning the straw poll, the former president took the stage to deliver a speech that can only be described as vintage Trump. How much of an appeal that still has will be a point of contention among Republicans, but no one can deny his ability to work a room.
Besides, I think we can all agree that this stuff is hilarious. When Trump is on message and hitting Democrats, he’s at his best. That he’s got the stage presence and ability

As the legend goes, William F. Buckley, the founder of National Review, forged an alliance between social conservatives, Republicans, and Libertarians to fight Communism. He also booted the John Birch Society from the pact. Beginning in 1973, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) leadership and the dedicated group of activists in its ranks launched the Reagan Revolution. The Buckley coalition elected Ronald Reagan in 1980 and launched 25 years of unmatched prosperity and U.S. hegemony. For the last decade, I attended CPAC to participate in the movement. Some of the most interesting and contentious debates I have ever heard occurred in the Wyndham and Gaylord Resorts suites

An apocalyptic scene has unfolded in Frederick, Maryland where an overturned gas tanker exploded into a massive fireball killing the driver and setting nearby homes and cars alight.
Hazmat teams have responded to the incident along with emergency crews with reports of a 'burning smell' filling the area.
Footage filmed by residents, some of whom were seen gawking nearby the huge blaze, shows large plumes of black smoke, ash and embers billowing from the crash site.
Maryland State Police said the crash took place on Route 15 in Maryland and the driver of the tanker died in the incident. There were no other fatalities or injuries immediately reported.

A federal judge denied a request from a Jan. 6 defendant to access additional Capitol surveillance tapes recently made available by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in an effort to delay her trial and gather more evidence.
U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg denied the request from Jan. 6 defendant Sara Carpenter on Friday, ruling her legal team failed to explain how the supplemental footage of her actions inside the Capitol building would be necessary in her case. Carpenter faces a number of charges for her participation in the Capitol riot, including disorderly conduct and obstruction of an official proceeding.

OXON HILL, MD. -- Former U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that he would continue his third presidential campaign even if indicted.
"Absolutely, I wouldn't even think about leaving," Trump told reporters ahead of a speech at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Trump is under investigation by prosecutors probing his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election as well as his handling of classified documents, among other issues.
Trump delivered the conference's headlining speech Saturday night, telling a cheering crowd of supporters that he was engaged in his "final battle" as he tries to return to the White House.

“If Ron DeSantis is such a fraud, why did you endorse him for governor? Did you make a mistake?” Daily Caller’s White House Correspondent Diana Glebova asked Trump at CPAC Saturday. (Tweet/Video) “I’m very happy I endorsed him for governor, because the alternative would’ve been very bad. He was a disaster as it turned out — the alternative would’ve been very bad. Two other declared GOP candidates, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, garnered 3 and 1 percent of the vote respectively —

“What price Churchill?” was the question famously posed by the poster that appeared in the Strand in the last week of July 1939. The Daily Mirror asked: “The writing on the wall? This giant poster is causing considerable comment.” The poster was a plea for Churchill’s leadership. He was finally summoned to serve as Prime Minister upon Neville Chamberlain resignation on May 10, 1940. Churchill recalled in his history of the war: “I felt as if I were walking with destiny, and that all my past life had been but a preparation for this hour and for this trial.”

It’s heartwarming to see the big corporations doing what must be done in order to ensure a just and equitable society for all. And so visitors to Disneyland will never again be subjected to having to hear these horrific racist lyrics: “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay / My, oh my, what a wonderful day / Plenty of sunshine headin’ my way / Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay.”

The cover-up of COVID-19's origins is one of the greatest scandals in the history of the world. Millions of people all over the planet have died from the China Virus.
The cost of the outbreak and the lying about its origins is incalculable, some say in excess of $50 trillion.

That would be the now flamed-out Biden administration appointee who was to lead Joe Biden's "Disinformation Governance Board," the agency hatched by the Bidenites to police Americans' speech in the name of "protecting" Americans from "disinformation." Anyone can stand at a podium and accept adulation. Real leadership involves having the humility to remain standing upright while accepting blame when you’ve failed the people you’re responsible for instead of conveniently leaning on a readily available crutch.
But then, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot never was much of a leader.
Lightfoot lost her re-election bid this week, receiving just a putrid 16.4% of the vote, finishing behind former head of Chicago Public Schools Paul Vallas and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson.
Lightfoot had her crutch before the results were in.

The thing about Social Security is that from the beginning it was designed to encourage misconceptions. It looks, on casual inspection, like a giant version of a private pension plan. You pay into such a plan during your working years, contributing to a pension fund, and when you retire you receive payments from that fund in proportion to the amount you put in. ...
I'm pretty sure that it was set up to look like an ordinary pension fund because that made it politically easier to sell. But in reality, Social Security has never been run like a private pension plan.

Following his State of the Union Address, President Biden has been on the attack over the GOPs’ many proposals to reform Social Security. Before you react to the talking points, you should ask: Is there any validity to Biden’s concerns?
To even the casual observer, Biden’s apprehensions concerning the GOP’s Social Security reform proposals appear to ignore one basic fact -- and likely the most important one. There is not a Republican plan or even lone Republican member of Congress pushing reductions to benefits on the scale that Social Security is scheduled to reduce checks going to seniors on its own when the trust fund is exhausted.

Hershey’s Canada’s woke “Her for She” campaign debuted an ad on Wednesday in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 that features on its candy bar wrapper transgender woman Fae Johnstone, a queer, trans and feminist activist who is also a “2SLGBTQUIA+ Advocate.”
The move set Twitter on fire with users blasting Hershey’s over the ad campaign. Many thought it was obscene to use a transgender woman to represent a pro-female celebration.
The short clip shows Johnstone posing with the limited-edition candy bar. She provides a voiceover attempting to explain the lame and offensive inclusivity initiative.

Baltimore, MD- Shocking video of a crash that led to the collapse of an entire building in East Baltimore last month was released by the Maryland Attorney General’s office on Thursday.
Police said the suspect responsible for the crash raced off in a stolen Hyundai Sonata just as officers were approaching the vehicle on the night of Feb. 8.
The suspect, 33-year-old Shawn Lee Brunson, proceeded to lead the cops on a high speed chase.
The chase concluded when Brunson allegedly struck another vehicle at the intersection of North Avenue and North Wolfe Street. This caused both cars to crash into the building, leading to its horrific collapse.

In late March, Walmart is closing the last two locations it has in Portland, Oregon.
The company’s official line about the closings is that it has to do with store performances, customer needs, and other corporate speak.
Does anyone doubt that this probably has a lot to do with theft? Portland is a hotbed of leftism, and for the last few years, shoplifting has become a norm for the left.
FOX 12 in Oregon reports:
All Portland Walmart stores to permanently close in late March
The last two Walmart stores within Portland’s city limits will close in late March, the company announced.

In an industry where Christianity isn’t fashionable, Hollywood star Kelsey Grammer is refusing to apologize for his faith.
The actor spoke about his new movie Jesus Revolution, as well as his own ups and downs with Christianity, in a USA Today interview,
“I’ve had hiccups. I’ve had some tragic times. I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them: sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it, like, ‘Where were you?’ That kind of thing,” he said.
“But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus.

Convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh shaved his head for his newest mugshot, hours after he was handed two consecutive life sentences for killing his wife and son.
The disgraced former lawyer, who kept his distinctive red hair for most of his murder trial, stares coldly ahead while wearing a yellow jumpsuit in the latest mugshot, snapped after he was booked Friday at South Carolina’s Kirkland Reception and Evaluation Center.
He will remain in a single cell for the next 45 days at the Columbia facility — which is a maximum-security, level-three prison for male offenders, Fox News reported.

We’ve seen that Democrats don’t seem to understand some of the basic principles of the Constitution. Or perhaps, more accurately, don’t seem to care about complying with it.
We’ve also seen that they don’t understand that Joe Biden isn’t king. He doesn’t get to declare, by unilateral fiat, the cancellation of student debt. That’s not within his Constitutional power, no matter what Democratic politicians may think. But they wanted to do it to pay off their base for their votes. So, they threw a tantrum on the steps of the Supreme Court. All they understand is that they should get to do what they want to hold onto their control.

Attorney General Merrick Garland made an unannounced trip to Ukraine on Friday, according to a Justice Department official, his second trip to the country after Russia invaded a little more than a year ago.
The trip was not announced for security reasons, the official said.
Garland was invited to Lviv by the Ukrainian prosecutor general, the official said, and joined President Volodymyr Zelensky at the "United for Justice Conference." The official added that Garland "held several meetings and reaffirmed our determination to hold Russia accountable for crimes committed in its unjust and unprovoked invasion against its sovereign neighbor."
