The long-range missiles matter. So do the super-accurate artillery shells, the surface-to-air missiles, and the winter weather gear; the training in the English countryside or the muddy Grafenwöhr maneuver grounds; and the intelligence provided from the eyes in space and the ears on airplanes that circle outside the battlezone. President Biden’s visit to Kyiv matters just as much as any of these.
Other heads of government preceded him, earning deserved credit. But it is an altogether different thing when the president of the United States—who is, indeed, the leader of the Free World—shows up. His words mattered.

OP got it right. They all know that we know that this was a meaningless stunt (and they know we know they know it), so they are puffing up their chests and loudly proclaiming "It's not a stunt!" It's a stunt.

Eliot Cohen is playing the role of Pee Wee Herman in the Sarasota adult cinema's Nurse Nancy fantasy. That's unbecoming, Eliot. Politics can turn smart people into drooling idiots, like the superannuated pols they support.

Would such an article have shown up if Trump was the recognized USA President and visited Kiev. Not a chance!

"Nothing matters more than leadership." The same 'leadership' Diapers displayed in Afghanistan? Before the week-long incursion in our airspace?
A visit from a doddering old fool who has already forgotten about it? Putin, Xi, and Kim are laughing their sides off.

Cohen is a GIANT neocon, anti-Trumper, Russophobe. He is a credentialed fool whose opinion is not worth the time it takes to refute it. Time will prove him to have been wrong, perhaps tragically so if Biden continues to stick his decrepit thumb in Putin's eye. Turn the tables; what would America do if Russia started sending billions of dollars of military aid to Mexico to support a border war with us? Do you suppose that Russia is so different?

Atlantic - thinks the Rosary is a subversive article - i have no trust. If they publish the times tables I will trust that, because I am just that sweet and hopeful. Otherwise, y'all go talk to your bigot friends.

To show strength, he has to unite his own country which he has done the opposite, apparently on purpose. Political stunts are all he knows and of course he is compromised by the information our adversaries have on him.

You can give a monkey a calculator, but that does not make him a mathematician. The Ukrainians have no idea how to fly these planes, drive these tanks, or launch these missiles. The United States is trying to start World War III, and they’ve been at it for two years now.

Ukraine is playing both sides against each other hoping to come out a winner. Zelenskyy will be pleased to rule over the ashes as a wealthy man.

Russia is the most influential country in that region of the world.
The Biden visit to Ukraine is an attempt to change that.
We shall see.

Some leftist and socialist Democrats are claiming that Biden is the best President since Roosevelt. Some others say that the country was in a deep financial crisis under Roosevelt, and that Roosevelt and the country were bailed out by the Second World War. Today the country is mired in inflation with a high national debt under Biden. So you have to hope that Biden does not stumble into a Third World War thinking that such a conflict would diminish inflation and the ongoing national debt situation.

The Atlantic warmongers. Who knew? President's words matter? Not when Biden speaks them. He's a demented stooge.
Biden has never done one thing right in foreign policy, or in domestic policy .
Propping up a Nazi regime because they funneled huge amounts to the Biden Crime Family is treason, not "leadership".
Biden is a leader of the slave world. Slaves to totalitarian socialism. And a mediocre one at that.
