I have never paid too much attention to Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Not for any particular reason, other than the fact that she was overshadowed by the looming presence of her boss Donald Trump.
So it was a revelation to me when she gave the first watchable response to the State of the Union address that I have ever seen. I have no idea how many people watched it, but I am pretty sure that clips from the speech will run for days in the media and on Twitter.//snip//But things are changing, because the Left is going warp speed in the culture wars, and Huckabee Sanders went there–as a mom.

I always liked Mrs. Sanders when she worked for Pres. Trump and I am hopeful her tenure as gov of Arkansas is a hit. Her reply was excellent. Enough said.

Her simple statement that we have gone from normal to crazy rings true to anyone paying attention.

Don't know how many people watched Quid Pro Joe's SOU but I'd bet even fewer watched the GOP response. That's just the way it is. I do wish Governor Sanders' father would stop doing commercials for something to put me to sleep. I have Bidet's speeches for that. Hope I see a GOP president and the demoncrap response is delivered by their superstar John Fetterperson of the formerly great state of Pennsylvania. Sarah's retort was spot on. But I know what the State of the Union is when I shop for groceries or gas, view out of control street crime, and the vaporization of our border with Mexico.

Honestly, I wasn't impressed with her.
Listening to FJB's speech from the perspective of those uninformed (sadly many of my friends), I think they'll think he nailed it. He's a master liar and the uninformed will eat it up.

Too bad, David, that you weren’t paying attention when she was Trump’s press secretary. She killed it every day in that job.

I disagree that it’s time for a younger generation to take charge. I think Sarah and DeSantis would make a good team in ‘28, but the precarious world situation needs more experienced leadership on the national level right now, especially considering the revelations about our Intelligence & security apparatus. China isn’t relying on leadership from a younger, less experienced generation. Experience, knowledge & wisdom are sorely needed now more than ever. I believe Trump’s track record establishes him as the one with best credentials for that vital monumental duty of facing the increasing peril Biden, et al, have placed us in on the world stage.

And yet, as Bannon pointed out this morning, she DELIBERATELY did not mention Trump by name!!!
Her speech writers are not patriots.

This was the first rebuttal speech we ever heard that hit hard and called Biden for what he is, what he has done, and what he has not done Ir is interesting to see at least one poster so obsessed wirh the color of Governor Sanders’s lipstick (imagine such trivia if she were a man) that they admitted to not paying attention to most of her speech.
I shake my head and wonder how we will win anything with such superficiality. Serious times for serious people. Strong people like Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

I don’t remember hee saying that the young should take over. She is 40. Hardly a teenager. A mature woman, wife, mother, former presidential press secretary (compare with Prissy,, the present one), governor. She has to be looking at an incompetent 80 year old president who is planning another run at age 82. We should be as well. And at those who roll over year after year, decade after decade, in our Congress because of their insatiable greed for power and all that goes with it and our lack of imagination or whatever it takes to bring in some fresh new blood.

Mrs Sanders will be the first female elected POTUS. After 2 terms as AR gov she will be 48 yrs old. Not exactly a spring chicken and with plenty of relevant experience for the position. Go Sarah.

Re: #6 - Neither Reagan nor Trump had experience on the national level but they worked out OK. In the case of Reagan, he was guided by and was an excellent evangelist of conservative values. Not a bad starting point for any politician.

Sorry Dave but I disagree. Governor Sanders as WHPS was never overshadowed by PDJT. In fact she was great at the job. Handling the democrat butt sniffing WH press corpse daily with class and skill. Unlike the ridiculous looking, sounding and acting clown-ette lying her tail off now. Her reply to FJB's lie-a-thon was spot on.

Reagan had knowledge & wisdom formed by life experiences that prepared him to meet the challenges he faced as POTUS. He lived through the Great Depression, WWII, etc., and years in the Democrat Party until its leftward turn aligned him with Republicans. He recognized communism for what it was, strongly opposed Communists & their allies, saw communist activism first hand in his Hollywood years & worked against it before he ever became a politician. He became a secret informant for the FBI & reported on Communist activity in Hollywood - back when reporting that to the FBI actually made a difference. He had been a public figure displaying his knowledge, wisdom & strength of character for years before he became POTUS with an overwhelming vote of approval and support from the American people.
Donald Trump has been a public figure for so many of his 76 years, that his life has been pretty much of an open book (“what you see is what you get”), so no need to recount it. Most Americans know what led him to run for POTUS in the first place, & they know the overwhelming success that his patriotic convictions brought to America during his presidency. They also know the unprecedented price he has paid to secure that success. The knowledge, strength & wisdom that were gained through his years prepared him to withstand the onslaught of attacks that he still endures. I would say the life experience he has gained, since the beginning of his run for the office of POTUS, & until this very day, has more than prepared him to be the best qualified of anyone - young or old - to hold that office again. We are going to need it against the enemies America currently faces.
