President Biden’s long overdue decision to end the Covid-19 public health emergency declaration on May 11 has exposed the big-government activists who used the pandemic to expand and entrench the nanny state.
At the start of the pandemic, the federal government passed a law prohibiting states from removing ineligible individuals from Medicaid until the emergency declaration was ended. In exchange, the federal government picked up a bigger share of the program’s cost at taxpayers’ expense.
Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson shredded federal agencies and the corporate media for working with Democratic operatives to promote “left-wing ideology” in the past several years.
Johnson criticized agencies for allegedly covering for left-wing politicians while simultaneously targeting former President Donald Trump and other conservatives in the years following the 2016 presidential election. He accused the media of complying with the FBI in investigating the now-discredited allegations that Russia colluded with the 2016 Trump campaign and covering up the Hunter Biden laptop story.
During an interview with the BBC that aired last week, Bill Gates was asked to address the public's criticism that his use of private jet travel is hypocritical, given his stance on climate change.
The World Wildlife Fund claimed that air travel is "currently the most carbon intensive activity an individual can make."

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has never shied away from shilling for Ukraine. But for Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, the Kentucky Republican took it up a notch with a wardrobe statement piece.
While attending President Joe Biden’s largely incoherent speech, McConnell forwent America’s red, white, and blue, instead wearing a tie emblazoned with the colors of the Ukrainian flag: blue and yellow. Like a NASCAR driver, McConnell was apparently just sporting the hues of the brand he represents.

The speech was peppered by surprisingly agile ad libs about not sunsetting Social Security as well as calls for Democrats and Republicans to unite, especially around spurring economic growth and productivity through a new push for "made in America." The President noted—rightly—that a reinvigoration of U.S. manufacturing will inspire feelings of pride, hope, optimism, and collaboration across the aisle. Yet while his invitation for bipartisanship was music to my ears, I recognized the tone of sweet talk and low substance.

Former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan is doubling down on his belief that former President Donald Trump is the wrong choice for Republicans in 2024, saying he would not support Trump if he becomes the Republican nominee for president.

Sen. John Fetterman was hospitalized Wednesday night after feeling lightheaded at the end of a Senate Democratic retreat, his office said.

Fetterman is “in good spirits and talking with his staff and family,” at the hospital, where he will remain overnight while doctors undergo further testing, his communications director, Joe Calvello, said in a Wednesday night statement.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) launched the Live Free or Die committee this week, marking a significant step toward laying the foundation for a White House bid in 2024.
Named after New Hampshire’s motto, Sununu’s Live Free or Die Committee is a 501(c)(4) organization that allows him to raise unlimited funds as he gauges interest from donors.
Sununu confirmed the creation of his committee on Wednesday, telling NBC News he is “excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire.”

The Biden administration has determined that the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that traversed the United States last week was operating with electronic surveillance technology capable of monitoring US communications, according to a senior State Department official.
The balloon "was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations" and was part of a fleet that had flown over "more than 40 countries across five continents."

Project Veritas released a statement on Wednesday after it was reported founder and face of the undercover outlet James O'Keefe was put on paid leave while the board of directors are deciding whether to remove him from his position.
