Ordinary people have extraordinary power. Don't believe me? Watch what happens if tens of millions ever decide to close their bank accounts all at once. Or critical sectors of the workforce decide to stay home for weeks. Or a sizable percentage of the population refuses to obey arbitrary and capricious government orders. When citizens become fed up enough to take matters into their own hands, those with government-bestowed titles learn quickly how little power those vaunted titles actually have. If you were to ask a collection of random people what governments do, you would hear a multitude of answers: they make and enforce laws

There is nothing new under the sun. The rise and fall of empires will continue until Jesus comes back.

In high school they told us that the purpose of government is to do the things for people that they cant do for themselves. Dad said that was carp. He said government has one and only one purpose; to perpetuate itself.
He was righter than they were.

A thoughful, if sobering, article. Still, It is not normal for a "government of the people" to regularly denigrate its citizens as racists, extremists, deplorables, terrorists, misogynists, bigots, and rubes. It is not normal for any government claiming to be "for the people" to declare half the nation "enemies of the State."FTA: ' Sadly, in this, and several preceding paragraphs, one might as well replace 'not' with NOW.

Further, It is not American for the government
to elect itself through rigged elections
to do whatever it wants
despite the will

The last paragraph reminds me of what occurred in communist Romania in December of 1989. Look it up. And also of the ending of the Arab Spring in Egypt in 2010-2011.

Yes but the constitutional cat's out of the bag.
The Republic of Texas approaches.
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida.
We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of.
California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west.
If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.

Nice theory but Americans haven't been pushed nearly hard enough yet. I still see the Karens out there dutifully wearing masks and keeping the Biden/Harris stickers on their cars. The only difference between us and the Venezuelans is that we still have a good supply of weapons and ammo. Every Leftist president since Slick Willy has talked about gun control but when it comes down to implementation they are just smart enough to realize that it will not work and without disarming the populace they are standing on shaky ground. Obama and Holder made a clumsy stab at it and we saw how that worked out. If our government doesn't change course, a citizen uprising is in our future and it's only a matter of time.

This author's premise is a corollary to a little-known rule in politics, namely: The most powerful weapon in existence against political oppression is the general strike. When the citizenry decide to lay down their tools and do no work, commerce comes to a halt and governments, rendered powerless, must bend to the demands of the citizens.

The Founders said that this self government will only work if the people are educated and moral. We're fighting an uphill battle.
