Dozens of prominent conservatives, including a former attorney general for the Reagan administration, released a letter Wednesday in support of the 20 House Republicans standing between Rep. Kevin McCarthy and his bid for the speakership.
“Months ago, these members made clear that this established way of doing things was no longer acceptable,” the Conservative Action Project letter said. “Rather than engage them in a good faith negotiation, Rep. Kevin McCarthy has instead maligned both the requests and the messengers. He has publicly and through proxies leveled attacks against members of his own party, including threatening to deny committee assignments for those who continue to oppose him.”

Draft Gingrich. Make Kevvy regret moving into 'his' new digs too early. I hope Watters has quit calling him 'Mr. Speaker by now.... he's another one who's way too full of himself.

Glad to see some prominent conservative support for the Fighting Twenty. At last we have a significant number of real Republicans that are throwing sand in the gears of the Uniparty machine, and I'm one-hundred-percent behind them. The Garden Party GOPers are clutching their pearls tighter with each successive failed vote for Old Kev. He looked pale and punch-drunk by the end of the sixth round. We'll soon see how many in the Repub caucus are Deep Staters, and how many take this opportunity to truly serve their constituents back home. The future of our Republic hangs in the balance.

Deep State Newt is much chagrined by this news... I was disappointed when DeMint retired. Gotta love Ginni! I hope he letter becomes required reading in the GOP caucus.

Good for them! The senate republicans should take note, the continued "go along, weak kneed, spinless"
republicans who cave to the Dems is what we the people are tired of. We are tired of being sold out, and these 20 Republicans have the backbone and the will to stand up to the establishment. Kev is just like McConnell and the constituents of these 20 Republicnas have made known what needs to change, and they have listened. McCarthy and his threats, if this article is accurate, needs to be exposed, as this is the way Mitch and his gang operate. The House is a beginning next needs to be the senate. Kev needs to step down for the sake of the people as well as the party. The message should be clear enough by now, we want change, not staus quo starting with Kev and McConnell needs to go next.

Kevin is toast. He is making a spectacle of himself. Need a replacement, Lee Zeldin comes to mind. Stand down Kevin, you're done.

I have no objection to Kevin McCarthy threatening the Twenty; however, why is it that Establishment Republicans ( aka Swamp Dwellers) always threaten fellow Republicans. You never hear McCarthy threatening Democrats.

McConnell and McCarthy love being in the minority.....permanently. Work load is pretty much zero. Alt they have to do is gas light their voters with the right words every 2 or 6 years then kick back and smoke another Lucky, enjoying the perks and taking their cut of the cash flow. Getting paid for doing nothing is a pretty nice gig. How else do you become a multi-millionaire off a job that pays less than 200k a year?

When things are confusing I like to see who lines up where.
These are some of the people promoting McCarthy's election (I despise every one of them):
Joe Biden
Karl Rove
Mike Pence
Dan Crenshaw
Liz Cheney
Frank Luntz (his roommate)
Sean Hannity
Bret Baier

This independent conservative, leaning voter does not want McCarthy. He’s too much like the rhino wimp Mitch McConnell. He will cave to the Democrats. It’s time for new blood with a back bone.

Just suppose McCarthy stands down. You cannot simply ignore the fact that 202 of the 222 member caucus chose him. Anyone else will not have that backing. You might not like the results but majority rule is the least best. In this case it is an overwhelming majority.

McCarthy is acting like Harold Stassen. Every time there is a vote he thinks he will win. He won't! We are sick and tired of uni-party RINOS selling us out. McConnell and McCarthy always go wobbly when confronting issues important to conservatives. Threats to withhold committee assignments to Republican house members if they vote against him makes McCarthy into Pelosi 2.0. To paraphrase Nicholas Von Hoffman, someone needs to pick this mouse up by his long tail and put him into the trash.

Regardless of who is finally seated, they will have been pre-corrupted. Our federal government is that broken. It is not about public service to their constituents but rather their constituents providing them with unbelievable wealth and benefits. And accumulate as much as possible before the collapse.

Maybe a fast-talking, do-nothing, lifetime career politician from California is not such a good idea. Have we learned nothing?

The pubbie faction of the uniparty isn't about to throw in the towel on the Speaker of the House vote. Four outcomes are increasingly likely now:
1. After a number of deals are cut, 17 dims will be given the ok by Nanie to crossover and vote for McCarthy who would be elected Speaker, thus isolating the fighting 20 pubbies.
2. 6 rino pubbies will abandon their support for McCarthy and crossover and vote for Jeffries who would be elected as Speaker, thus isolating the fighting 20 pubbies.
3. A conservative political party emerges in 2023.
4. The republican and dim parties disappear and are formally re-branded as the uniparty in 2024.
We are at a governmental crossroads. Unless something changes for the better fast, one or more of these outcomes can be expected. The uniparty's silent coup against conservatism and the United States of America, as founded, remains in full swing. Klaus remains pleased...for now, anyway.

Oops, another possible outcome -
5. The twenty freedom fighters are offered a deal they can't refuse and the pubbie party votes for a neutered McCarthy unanimously. The twenty freedom fighters' stature within the republican party increases significantly.

If President Trump supports McCarthy...then so do I...President Trump knows what he's doing...and I trust his judgement completely....no blue ribbon letter from whomever can convince me otherwise....it's kinda like the 50 intelligent committees that said Russia...russia...russia was our enemy with the voting and jan6 mess...all President Trump's fault...well I ain't buying it...WE have a leader...now follow his lead!!

McCarthy looks good, sounds good but caves to the the lefties on spending, the border security and every other destructive socialist/dem policy. Who wants more of the same downward spiral in America the Beautiful?
