Has the American Experiment Failed?

Thomas Jefferson said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground," and that has been borne out by history with the few bright exceptions in which a society demanded the freedom to live as they ought. The founding of the United States of America was one of those bright moments. Often described as an experiment, it was one of the most improbable series of events in history in which a people threw off the shackles of their government and sought out to see if they could rule themselves.
As we saw, the experiment was difficult to replicate.

No, it has not. What has failed is a gross absence of integrity amongst our elected congress, current president, several SCOTUS members, the msm, and, way too many Americans who think America, as founded, is a joke.

The U.S. Constitution and capitalism are what made America great. We need to return to that.

I'm afraid our experiment in self-government has indeed failed. Had we stayed with The Constitution and cherished freedom always, we might not have failed. But over time evil men promised more safety and security if we just gave up a little more of that freedom, and now we are so far into the sewer we have more in common with the Soviet Union than the nation of our founders. The constitution has been so circumvented it no longer means much of anything. Anyone who fights it is vilified, as we are seeing in the house right now, and with President Trump.

A question that needn't be asked.
The Constitution has been turned into toilet paper.
The design of the founders has been destroyed.
We the People failed to be the term limiters that we should have been.
The Federal government isn't supposed to be as powerful as it is, but it is.
The political system has been taken over by monied interests and the people we think we are voting for are nothing more than puppets who enrich themselves at our expense.
We had the 2nd but we wasted it by not using it. Now it's too late.
We no longer have the 1st.
The design was shattered by the 14th, 16th, and the 17th.
There is no surviving this. We're finished. The only questions are how and when do we fall.

We've become a nation of petty self-interest, greedy desires, multitudes of opulent rights demanded by pompous assertions of deserving of those rights and with this a burgeoning egomaniacal oligarchy, deeply and more wide-spread indulgent tumescent laziness, and love of country grown cold.
One will see this at the end stages of all regimes. Some will explode in the flames of violent revolution; some will simper and whimper and shuffle away into the dustbin led by men "with hollow chests stuffed with straw."

Biden always hesitates to speak in order to find a way to slam everything about America, ...even favorite sports. He feigns compassion but has none, as evidenced by the disastrous tragedies he is enabling in the millions along the border invasion and cartel autracities & drugs throughout this country. He apparently has no compassion for others. His ego betrays him.

Yes. I believe a benevolent dictatorship is the only path away from Washington DC's absolute corruption.
The US military must not be allowed to be involved in any way. They are contaminated.
American society is also deeply corrupt, Washington DC is the reflection of societal and institutional corruption at every level.
US elections are the world's most corrupt and will not change anything about Washington.
I also believe that Vigilante Justice must step in to counter the lawlessness of our illegitimate government.
I hope that local law enforcement will work together with Citizen Protection Committees to re-establish basic security.

Mark Steyn said it best: Once you've lost the culture, elections don't matter. Guess what, we're there, and it's all downhill from here
Sorry, but there it is.

America may, if it is extremely lucky, find one benevolent dictator. It won't find the second. Dictatorships are seldom, if ever, benevolent. Search history for one. If you find one, you won't find his successor to be a benevolent dictator. Please read 'The Storm Before the Storm: The Beginning of the End of the Roman Republic" by Mike Duncan. You will be amazed at the similarities of what happened in the years just prior to Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon and what is going on in the U.S. today. Or download it and listen to it. It WILL be worth your time. The Roman Republic lasted around 440 years. We've had a decent run at almost 250 years. Athens had an on-and-off democracy for a maybe 150 years total (interspersed with tyrannies, oligarchies and dictators). I haven't studied Athens' version of democracy as well as I have Rome's 'Republic' - but Rome's decline into political and societal anarchy just prior to Julius Caesar is so much like what is happening in the U.S. now. Seriously, get the book. And I have absolutely no monetary interest in whether or not you buy the book!

Failure happens when you start ignoring your own laws. Don't blame the Constitution for that.
Men seeking power and money are to blame.

Without establishing term limits in the Constitution we were doomed from the get go. The Founders never dreamed their creation would become life long employment.

After a few years of living under communist America, someone will discover America's real history, and it will start to spread. Some of the idiots who won't listen now will be open to hearing the truth and will weep at how foolish they were. They will either rise up or sink into despair knowing that they brought it upon themselves and their children. How sad.

Not at all, it succeeded in spectacular fashion. We are currently verifying the results by conducting a control test to see if those results don't also occur when constitutional limits on government are rolled back. I'm satisfied with the control test so far and would gladly move back to constitutional limited government.
