Some of the best friends of Vladimir Putin and Russia are some of the very same people who think that they are the best buddies of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine. [...] Instead of rallying America behind the plucky Ukrainian people, the UKR emoji set is well down the road to alienating a significant number of Americans from assisting Ukraine. [...] And then Ukraine will be well and truly screwed – it sure as hell can’t rely on the euro eunuchs.

..the Ukies are applauded ( ad nauseum) because they do NOT want to be ruled over by corrupt, totalitarian, communist Russians !!
.....instead, they MUCH prefer to continue - as they have for decades - of being ruled over by corrupt, totalitarian, communist Ukies !!
... this is the commie-version of Crips versus Bloods...fighting over who gets control of the 'hood...( WHAT difference does it make ??)
... it's NOT our fight ...let the euro-weenies sort it out themselves

fta: "Sorry, Ukraine and Ukrainians, but America and Americans are more important to me than you. No offense. I expect you to feel the same way about us, and I have no heartburn with the idea that Zelenskyy is exploiting credulous Americans to wring every buck, bomb, and bullet he can from us to protect his people. Sure, Ukraine (as I know from personal experience over there) is so corrupt it scandalizes internet Nigerian princes, and some Ukrainians are themselves creeps. But I support the people. I served with them – the Ukrainian people are tough and brave and I respect their courage in resisting an unjustified and cruel invasion. Still, I’m not convinced that it is worth a single American life and I am not convinced that Ukraine should be getting a blank check when the cries for help from our citizens are met with blank stares."
That sums it for me. Thanks Kurt!

How to make them ditch Ukraine?
Find them a better money-laundering system.

Schlichter wrote that we need to determine what America's objective is.
I'd say that once and for all disabusing Russia of any pretentions to "Great Power" status is a good place to start. They clearly aren't a Great Power and we should stop pretending they are. There are monied and powerful interests in the West who do not want that staus changed. They want Europe to have a boogeyman.
Months before this invasion NATO held a war simulation and concluded that Russia could defeat NATO in two weeks! Naturally, that calls for a larger budget!! Why do those NATO analysts still have jobs? The Russian Army, then, not now, were comparable to the 1991 Iraqis or the 1967 Egyptians.
As a Republican, I am not inclined to oppose funding Ukraine simply because Biden supports it. I'm more inclined to ask why Ukraine isn't currently using ATACMS to blast every significant target within 300 kilometers of the launchers.
The sooner Russia is abjectly humiliated, the sooner it can accept its role as just a big Norway. And stop treating its neighbors as lackeys, henchmen, or property. Demographics will handle the rest. THEN we can gear down, save some money, and perhaps even ask if it is necessary to maintain forces in Europe at all.

I was never onboard. Our “leader” couldn’t find the stage on his way to explain why the cost in blood and treasure is worth it, and probably couldn’t have read the teleprompter even had the Easter Bunny been there to lead him to the stage. The Diaper’s opinion that Putin is a “War Criminal” is not sufficient. That he could say that we are nearer Armageddon without explanation to his people makes him a war criminal.
The Ukrainian people of course are suffering. Whether it’s because Zelensky is willing to let them suffer so he can join NATO- whether for payola or for some overarching view of what’s good for them- or because putin has no justifiable ends and thus is a war criminal like Dipes says, I don’t know.
But our “leaders” are supposed to know and they’re supposed to tell us.

I never supported any U.S. involvement in Ukraine, most especially all the NGO's, and George Soros.

“Have you seen the polls? A majority of American voters support helping Ukraine!”
A majority of American voters supported helping Afghanistan too. Until trillions of dollars, over 25,000 casualties, and years were poured into a gaping hole.

So true. We got on board with Ukraine for self-defense and now being leveraged for it to deny everything it did bad in Donbas and to claim Crimea and Donbas. Maybe right but not discussed. And Ukraine in its own interests apparently corrupted democracy in America. I am inclined to forgive but this calls for open discussion. And they want to throw Russia out of the human race. To that, no.
