Let’s Stop Pretending Ron DeSantis Is Establishment

Former President Donald Trump has superpowers. That much was established when he first stepped onto the political scene in 2015 and demonstrated his uncanny ability to transform folks on the left into crazed caricatures of themselves just by giving an utterance. It seemed that anytime he so much as sneezed, it immediately caused those who are left of center to have a collective meltdown. But now, he has revealed another superhuman talent: The ability to turn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis into a Romneyesque neocon just by saying unkind words about him. That’s right. Ever since Trump took a few shots at the person believed to be his most formidable opponent

Methnks the establishment protesth too much. We do know they don't think MAGA people are hard too fool, witness the neverending duplicity of the Resident Romneybots and Bushies and Rovians. They couldn't sell Nikki Haley, or Senator Scott, so this week its DeSantis. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. We should get on our knees and pray.

Oh my, that was fast! Gotta quash THAT narrative, ASAP. The only narrative that’s allowed is Trump is finished and DeSantis is the new leader. But I say, by their friends you shall know them. The funny thing is, I’m a huge DeSantis fan, but the constant, ugly posts about him and Trump are making me rethink that.

Trump and DeSantis are going to have to have a private sit-down and come out with a public statement. Otherwise, various 'sources' will be in overdrive flinging as much plop as possible to see what sticks. The efforts to divide us is going to get ugly.

So now Red State is Establishment? Please! The piece is right on the mark. As soon as Trump says a bad thing about DeSantis, up pop the trained seals to say, "Yeah, that's right, DeSantis is Establishment!" Pathetic. Trump cost us the Senate in Georgia in 2020, and he cost us again in 2022. Keep drinking the Kool-Ade if you want a Dem president in January 2025.

I'm exhausted from the frenetic activity before the current election results are even settled! This isn't directed at any one particular politician, by the way. It's just how things seem to operate these days of 24/7 story updates, published commentary, television appearances, fundraising, social media, etc. Can we just catch our breath?! Must it be decided TODAY who will be on the ballots in the next presidential election? Can we let the dust settle?? There is so much unnecessary stress created.

Those who try to paint DeSantis as some kind of Bush, Romney, establishment RINO politician need to get back on their meds. Anybody who looks at DeSantis' record and concludes that he is anything other than a solid conservative is completely out of touch with reality, or they are trying to get rid of DeSantis because he is a legitimate threat to Trump. I fear it is the latter. Thankfully if the "Nobody But Trump (NBT)" people think this ploy will work with rational conservatives, they totally underestimate the ability of rational conservatives to see through this shallow attempt to deceive them. The bottom line is that the NBTs are making themselves look silly !!!

I really can't believe some of the BS I am reading. The guy who stared down Fauci, Biden, grooming in schools, teachers unions, cruise lines, face masks, vaccines etc etc, is a RINO because he may run against Trump? Hmmmm. A Governor/US Navy Reserve JAG making a couple hundred grand a year total is a RINO because he takes campaign donations like 99.99% of other candidates who are not real estate moguls? It is not DeSantis attacking Trump here. DeSantis is doing normal stuff. I am a Trump supporter so it is particularly painful to watch Trump shoot himself in the foot by looking like a craven mafioso threatening DeSantis with "what he knows". That is a line in the sand for me. It is cowardly and it's not the Trump I have come to respect. Sure, the sniveling leftists will exploit any weakness they can. There is a way forward for these two established conservatives. Why would the author of "The Art Of The Deal" not simply put something together? Its not too late for Trump to back off this tact, but you can see he will be losing a large part of the folks who proudly and defiantly backed him when he was the guy getting unfairly attacked if he does not.

A little story about Ron DeSantis: Senator Ben Sasse is close to being the next president of the University of Florida, and is expected to resign his Nebraska senatorial seat. That was a little deal made among Governor DeSantis, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts who is termed out this year, and Ben Sasse. Ricketts has his eye on Sasse’s senatorial seat. Sasse is deeply unpopular in Nebraska, and an active never-Trumper. Both Ricketts and Sasse are establishment Republicans. Ricketts fixed it so his chosen successor, Jim Pillen, won not only the the primary but the general, making him the next governor of Nebraska and able to appoint Pete Ricketts to the rest of Sasse’s term.

We fought hard for President Trump. We were, are attacked physically and verbally every step of the way. President Trump endured an onslaught never ever seen before in American politics. The entire establishment government was weaponized to destroy him AND his family. His personal business has been smeared and his life long associates are facing corrupt twisted bogus charges. Some have gone to prison. The republican establishment unleashed filth through the front and back door yet the man turned America and the entire world around to a peaceful and prosperous future. God Bless President Donald John Trump and pray for Americas future.

Until Ron DeSantis fleshes out his position on a whole range of domestic and foreign policy issues no one is in a position to say whether he is "establishment" or not. In the meantime, Billionaire Ken Gilbert has bet $5,000,000 on the proposition that DeSantis is establishment so, unlike Mr. Charles, I am taking nothing on faith.

Let me try to explain. Trump gave up his easy life to take the slings and arrows for us. And he came out of office poorer than when he went in. (Think that would be the case with DeSantis? Really?) Trump gave us hope that we might actually see the day when we rule ourselves again instead of our arrogant, multinational masters. And he was a success. DeSantis was a backbench congressman who couldn't beat a closeted gay drug addict before Trump rescued him. Now DeSantis imagines he can take Trump's mantle? Let's not abandon Achilles just before we hit the beaches of Troy.

DeSantis didn't come from money. Neither serving in the military for a few years nor being a rep nor Gov has given him big money, I don't believe. I haven't looked at whether he has financials up and available, but apparently, it has been reported that he is still paying student loans. Just like Marco Rubio in 2016, who also didn't come from money. Just like my husband and me, who also didn't come from money ( we were still paying student loans back in our early to mid-40s). Sure that whatever guy is a globalist, but I haven't seen anything from DeSantis that he is. Smart people do some things globalists like and some things populists like. Some people think I must be a globalist because I think the US should adopt some tech stuff that other countries have had since the early 2000s. (Electronic signs that tell you how many spaces are in each parking row, so you stop wasting time going back and forth when there are no spaces and just go to the aisle where there is a space) I can't see that DeSantis is a Harari supporter or anything like that. I also found out that when he was in Congress, he was in the Freedom Caucus. He is not a Romeyesque type of person. And I am one who was for Perry back whenever because he was the only guy who was worth 500k or less which is what should happen if you spend your life in public service. People like Dr. Fauci or Bernie Sanders make me sick.

Sacramento, Calif. — California not long ago was reveling in a record budget surplus. Now the Legislature’s fiscal analysts are projecting a $25 billion deficit next fiscal year as tax revenues decline. The nonpartisan agency on Wednesday put the Capitol on alert by recommending state lawmakers cut spending when they reconvene in January — and even hold back some already-budgeted funding in order to avoid the shortfall. The starker outlook poses a new set of challenges for Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom after years of flush budgets buoyed by a booming stock market and thriving tech sector. The Senate on Wednesday cleared a key procedural hurdle toward historic passage of the bipartisan bill to protect same-sex and interracial marriage, voting 62-37 to break a filibuster. There could be additional votes before final passage, but Wednesday's successful test vote signals the bill is on a glide path to succeed, a remarkable turn of events given how contentious the issue of same-sex marriage was just a few years ago. While the bill would not set a national requirement that all states must legalize same-sex marriage, it would require individual states to recognize another state's legal marriage. So, in the event the Supreme Court might overturn its 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision

Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as their leader over National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott (R-Fla.) who announced his desire to replace McConnell at an acrimonious conference meeting Tuesday. On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was overwhelmingly reelected to lead the Republican conference for another two years.
