Here Are the Republicans Who Voted Against
McConnell's Leadership Bid

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was overwhelmingly reelected to lead the Republican conference for another two years. The 37-10 vote—which was conducted behind closed doors—comes after an underwhelming midterm election cycle for Republican Senate candidates that opened McConnell up to a challenge from Florida Senator Rick Scott, the head of the National Republican Senate Committee and a longtime rival of McConnell's who has sought to make inroads into Republican leadership for years.

I guess it is too much to hope that a 'news' organization would publish the slime who hid behind closed doors to keep a corrupt slob in power, but what the uniparty wants, the uniparty gets. BTW, has 'newsweak' ever mentioned the double digit millions of dollars wedding gift good old Mitch received from the Chinese Communist general father of the bride, when good old Mitch got hitched? NO body ever talks about that, in the media, from the unfunny late night entertainment/propagandists and never, ever, from any Republican.

If you can come up with $363 million to spend on Senate races like Mitch did, you can be the Senate caucus leader, too. Mitch doesn't need the perpetually "broke" RNC to take care of his business. He doesn't need your $50 checks, either. You want to play with the big boys and girls? Show them the money six figures at a time. Otherwise it's chump change.

This really is a slap in the face. This old man is an example of every crooked and corrupt, money grubbing senator you have ever seen portrayed in a movie. He has zero loyalty to his country and all that motivates him is his personal power and greed. He is the antithesis of the citizen legislator that the Founders envisioned for this country. I think it is high time that the people of this country let these arrogant elites know exactly what we think of them. Every time they show their faces in public, they should be peacefully confronted by people who are tired of their corruption, political shenanigans that cost us elections, and abuse of power which they use as a cudgel against anyone who dares cross them. If this actually is a government of, by and for we the people, we should make our voices heard other than just at the ballot box. We must hold these politicians accountable for the decisions they make. I would like to see people with signs peacefully protesting their abject failure and ongoing corruption. They make the worst decisions on our behalf and suffer no consequences. It’s time that stopped. We have to show our displeasure. They must feel the heat of our wrath. Right now as it stands they get away scot free and suffer zero repercussions from their betrayal. It is almost impossible to get these career charlatans out of office. Therefore, let’s make it as uncomfortable as possible. No bowing and scraping. No deference. No respect for these men who revile us. We must begin to confront them. If their colleagues will not hold them accountable, the American people will. Doing nothing has enabled them. They believe they are untouchable and far above the great unwashed masses. They need a reality check. No one deserves it more.

Trump roasts Electoral Count Act

Former President Donald Trump is, from the sounds of it, frustrated by the inclusion of the Electoral Count Act in the $1.7 trillion omnibus that’s currently being discussed. As previously reported, the Electoral Count Act would make it significantly harder for both Congress and the vice president to reject the results of an election. On Tuesday the former president posted a stream of thoughts — all of them mostly negative — to Truth Social about the bill. He started by complaining about how the bill would set in stone that the vice president may not unilaterally choose to certify or not certify the results of an election.

Congress is trying to cram through a mammoth $1.7 trillion government funding bill ahead of a nor'easter that could otherwise leave lawmakers snowed-in in Washington, D.C. over Christmas.  The 4,500 page bill is full of classic priorities: $858 billion for defense, $45 billion for Ukraine, $38 billion for emergency disasters and billions more for other social programs - but also includes some odd riders.  It's loaded with thousands of earmarks - funding for the pet projects of individual lawmakers sometimes in exchange for their vote. Earmarks were banned until Democrats brought them back last year. Republicans followed suit in their own conference.

The House Select Committee on January 6 is ending. It’ll be gone by the next Congress—and good riddance. The committee was probably slated to be the Democrats’ 2022 attack vehicle funded by the taxpayer to paint Trump and the Republican Party as too extreme for America. It failed because a) no one cared anymore about that little riot, b) Americans knew hyperbole when they saw it, and c) the economy was collapsing. Most Americans don’t care or have the time to worry about the trivial matters that consume rich white liberals with dread. With the economy in recession, the Left tried everything to put this committee’s work front and center,

We often despair that neither party represents the interests of fiscal discipline these days, or even competent and accountable governance. It’s clearly too much to ask that we get to a balanced budget, since we haven’t even seen one attempted in nearly 30 years — and even that used budgetary gimmicks. Without a constitutional amendment, Congress will never budget properly within the limits of national revenue, and without an Article V convention, we won’t get an amendment that requires it. As for competent and accountable governance, that will likely require an Article V convention as well.

The tax code allows the committee to look at people’s tax returns to provide “oversight” of the Internal Revenue Service, and by writing an official report on their findings,

The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?
