Trump Wrongly Blamed for Sup-Par GOP Performance

The Republicans had a pretty good midterm election despite what pundits are claiming. The GOP must win three of the remaining four Senate races to win control of the upper chamber — a goal well within reach as Republicans lead in Nevada and Wisconsin. And the party is within spitting distance of a House majority.
But no red wave. A combination of better-than-expected Democratic enthusiasm and underperforming Republican candidates squandered several opportunities to flip House seats and give the GOP a sizable House majority in January.
How did this happen?

Trump is the reason we haven't been taken over by the globalist cabal yet. So despicable to blame rather than thank him at this point.

Trump has done a lot of good.
However, his immature attacks on Ron Desantis reveal a man with a seriously flawed character.
And, be prepared for the fallout. His political career is over.

This article exposes the narrative that democrats and Rinos are desperately trying to push. They cannot have President Trump coming out of this election cycle on a positive note. It is important for them to hang every loss around his neck and ignore every win. Same ol’, same ol’. However, you notice that the Rinos never blame the lax election process in some of the states that were lost.
Not much has changed since 2020. Rinos are adamant that there is no such thing as election fraud. Anyone questioning the process or results are election deniers which is a typical tactic of the people who refuse to admit the reality that we have seen with our own eyes. There is plenty of blame to go around but this knee jerk reaction to blame President Trump is just disingenuous. If you are going to blame him without any evidence, you must give him credit for what he has done for our candidates. Unfortunately, the same folks against him in 2020 are the same ones committed to their hate Trump strategy.l.
If I could ask these nitwits one question it would be, if Donald Trump is so threatening and toxic, how in the world did he have one of the most successful Presidencies in terms of putting this country and its people first. He achieved more than any modern day President. The country was humming along. People were happy and content with the direction of the country. Inflation was the lowest in decades. The economy was purring along. People were working and adding wealthy to their bottom lines. The military was strong, not woke. We had the respect of our friends and enemies. Minorities were faring better under a Trump presidency than any democrat one ever. The are all tangible measures of not only success but resounding success. And yet, the Rinos did everything in their power to undermine him but were, in fact, only hurting the American people. Now tell me, what was so terrible about his Presidency? He worked harder than any other President or any elected official in Washington. He donated his salary. He loved this country and respected the working class. I just don’t understand what he did that was so wrong. He did not ask for the myriad of investigations brought against him by the democrats with completely make up falsehoods. Do you understand they were all based on lies and had zero basis in truth? So tell me, what was so off putting about him? Could it be because he exposed the lying lazy self-benefitting career politicians and bureaucrats who had a death grip on our government and wanted to do something about it? It certainly could not be because he was incompetent. So, tell us. What it is that he did that so enrages you?

Trump had no business at all getting involved in Pennsylvania. The Trump-Mastriano ads were underwritten by Josh Shapiro's campaign. The Oz indorsement completely split state Republicans and they never recovered.

I agree, #5..... tell me how the candidates backed by McConnell fared, as compared to Trump-backed candidates. McConnell is a huge liability to the Republican party.

FTA: "When it comes to Donald Trump, most strong supporters have an “accept no substitutes” policy. DeSantis has already gotten into some trouble with MAGA world, and they would be unwilling to transfer their allegiance to anyone else while Donald Trump remained a viable candidate." Yes, DeSantis did support a less-than-stellar Republican in Colorado, raising the ire of Trump and many of his strong supporters but it was the right thing to do in order to bolster the chances of taking the Senate out of filthy democrat hands.
One thing that I noticed last night and today, looking at the US election maps for the various races, it appears that in many states where there was one or more third party candidates, mostly libertarian, those votes were greater than the margin of loss to the democrats. It is doubtful that libertarian voters would vote for democrats, so it is reasonable to assume those voters siphoned votes away from Republicans, with the effect of boosting democrats enough to win, election irregularities or not. Equating all Republicans not named Trump to RINOs is just as foolhardy as voting libertarian, knowing that your vote will only help democrats but last night, on these pages, I saw posters avowing that they are finished voting Republican. It begs the question, "How did America ever become great in the first place in order for the Make America Great Again voters to make America great again?" The MAGA acronym, used to represent a voting block, dedicated to Trump, that is of fairly recent origin, whereas the GOP has been around since 1854. In the 1980s, conservatism became the dominant ideology of the GOP. RINOs, by loose definition, do not share a conservative ideology. Like Populists, they tend to swing back and forth between conservative and liberal ideologies. We have MAGA conservatives and MAGA not so conservatives, similar to the GOP. I do not blame Trump for the tepid Red swell but you can bet that if this election actually did generate a massive Red tsunami as was predicted, the credit would largely go to one man and it wouldn't have been Biden.

#3, as much as I appreciate Trump and respect him for all he did and tried to do I believe it is time for him to rest on his laurels and allow younger people to carry the momentum he started as best they can. There will never be another Trump but he’s almost 80
years-old. Conservatives must hold the line on our message and who we support but we have to move forward with a new leader just like we did after Ronald Reagan. We have to trust younger people to carry the country forward and, as we’ve learned, many are eager to do so and carry the American experiment forward.

Read an article that proposed that the red wave was an illusion created by Dems who voted for Trump candidates in the primaries and then voted for the Dem candidate in the election..

What is so much more palatable to the middle about, "Florida is where Woke goes to die"?
Trump's conservative, American, Constitutional instincts are battle tested. Not interested in changing horses simply to find out who the next "Hitler" is.
The Republican Party screwed up a walk-over, homecoming game opponent. What this likely spells the end of is the Republican Party. They can't be trusted to not screw up an easy win.
