An old proverb says that the dogs bark, but the caravan goes on. In an updated version, Donald Trump plays the noisy dog as Ron DeSantis marches to victory. The Florida governor won a smashing blowout Tuesday by routing Democrat Charlie Crist by nearly 19 points, a margin that no poll predicted. He followed that with a raucous speech that was both a celebration and a skillfully worded test of national themes as he declared, “Florida is where woke goes to die.” And, likely referring to the fact that he won Miami-Dade County, a longtime Democratic stronghold that is 70% Latino, by double digits, DeSantis declared,

DeSantis will face what Trump faced in 2020: endless mail-in ballots. That needs to be ended except for the traditional absentee ballot reasons--out of town, those unable to leave home or care for medical reasons, and military serving out of area, with a postmark date one week prior to Election Day. Early voting: restrict to a week prior Election Day. All votes are counted on Election Day. That is it.
And yes, I believe it'll be DeSantis 2024.

Fool, the only reason DeSantis won is because Florida doesn't do mass mail ballots and requires picture ID and matching signature at the voting centers.
If the rest of the country was run the same and all the dead and moved people were removed from the voting rolls most of this country would be solid red. The left knows it. That's why they cheat.
Their ideas are unpopular. Their economy is garbage. Their foreign policy is sending us into a hot war with Russia. The border doesn't exist.
There are not 81m crazy voters in this country.

The second Ron Desantis makes any presidential move, the wolves will descend upon him and his lovely wife and family the same as Trump. I hope they are ready for the onslaught they will receive from the hyenas. In addition, if we don't fire McConnell McCarthy and McDaniel, the RNC establishment masters will try to convince him the Trump-like policies successfully employed in Florida are too MAGA for a majority of Americans and that he will need to modify his approach, thereby negating the MAGA momentum. They will try to bring the effort back to UNIPARTY business as usual. Just my thoughts.

Some writers are saying President Trump is over and are jumping on the DeSantis bandwagon. Much as I love Governor DeSantis, I believe Trump is the world-experienced chief executive officer the USA needs. The Dems, Soros, & big Tech/Pharma/Media have made a gargantuan mess that must be cleaned up. President Trump has the know-how that no other politician has. I think former Sec of State Mike Pompeo comes closest.

I look forward to a fair and thorough primary process to decide the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Coronations went out with George III.

Why is Florida different with regard to voting processes? Could it be that their governor urged their legislature to codify common sense, non-discriminatory voting security measures? It should be clear that DeSantis is not an "Establishment" Republican.

I will not vote for Mitch McConnell's candidate. Ron DeSantis is GOPe inside and out. While DJT is his own man, DeSantis is owned by the political machine.
The only other guy I would consider isn't in the race, Rand Paul.
Other than that, I'm done with all this. There isn't anything left to save. The usurper has finished the destruction started by the progressives in the early 20th century. I'm glad my time is near.

One sign that Michael Goodwin is a political hack is that while he ostensibly writes a column praising Ron DeSantis, his main purpose is to denigrate Donald Trump, a truly great president. I am inclined to hope DeSantis runs in 2024 and becomes the nominee. Not sure. In any case I will have no negative feeling for any of those two men. Both are fantastic. I detest Republicans who celebrate the Red Trickle solely so they can blame Trump, who in any case is not responsible for any candidate losing his election.

No, he is not the future of the party. Not as long as the Ryan-Bush cabal that is advising him and fundraising on his behalf exists.

DeSantis has ties that make me really uncomfortable. I want to know more before voting for him. He is making a good governor though.

Come on NY Post….you didn’t mention Bidens inflation, high gas prices, one sided JD, high grocery bills, oil shortage….as the reason many republicans were elected. All NY Post cares about is destroying Trump …heck with the country!! I still don’t get their derangement to destroy Trump. Do they really think Ron will slip right in as President????
