Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is making a play for another term in leadership next week while control of the upper chamber remains in the balance after the Kentucky lawmaker’s chess game sabotaged chances for a GOP majority.
In September, McConnell inaugurated the fall midterms by undermining Republicans in key races when the GOP Senate chief complained of “candidate quality.”
“I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate,” McConnell said on Fox News just before Labor Day, the unofficial start of the fall campaign season. “Senate races are just different, they’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

I am no fan of Mitch McConnell and wouldn’t mind seeing him replaced, but I don’t think it is correct or helpful to pin so much blame on him, given the actual outcomes vs. the polls and predicted red wave. There’s plenty of blame to go around, not the least regarding the quality of some Senate candidates and their campaigns. Whatever his faults, McConnell did accomplish some good things for President Trump. Let’s make sure that his replacement is thoroughly vetted in terms of competence as well as ideology. The last thing we need is to fall out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Not that it will make any difference, but I called my senators and pretty much begged them to not vote for McConnell.

McConnell very publicly kicked some very qualified Republican Senate candidates to the curb over "quality". Yet the Democrats chose to run an idiot stroke victim, Fetterman, who couldn't string a sentence together and he received their full support, and won over a very qualified physician (who was poor quality)! The Turtle hid in his shell and drank Kentucky Bourbon with his Democrat friends when he should have been helping to elect new Republican Senators. McConnell's lack of support for Republican candidates and help to regain the majority should disqualify him from future leadership of the party.

Time for Mitch to go. He is a traitor to his party. Giving my contributions to elect Democrats. Unbelievable!

People don’t call the republicans the ‘dumb party’ for nothing. They keep voting the same type for leadership and add to that the never trumpers and rinoes and wonder why we can win major battles

Donating one red cent to Lisa Murkowski, in a race between two Republicans, should be enough to get McConnell bounced from leadership. Cooperating with the Democrats on so-called infrastructure and raising the debt ceiling should also earn him the boot. I don't know how he could have prevented the confirmation of the radical judges, although if he was able to communicate effectively he could have exposed how extreme they are. If the Senate ends up 50/50 or 51/49 in favor of the Republicans and another Senator takes his place I wouldn't be surprised if he resigns entirely, letting the Democrat governor of Kentucky replace him with a Democrat.

Mitch, corrupt, inept Mitch, must walk off into the sunset. Why? What has he done but lose. The fact that he basically opposed the best conservative president we have had since Ronald Reagan might be a clue... that this sniveling little Kentucky paper towel has not become president apparently is not to his liking. And his little Chinee wife doesn't help. Yes. I said it. Call me a racist because I think she is.

Hong Kong Mitch should have n-o-t-h-i-n-g to do with Republican leadership or control of the Senate and should be assigned the seat in the Cloak Room

Not a Mitch fan, but he is sitting on a pile of money which he doles out to his "friends".
If we win Nevada and AZ, he will be majority leader.
