The biggest winner of the midterm elections was without a doubt Governor Ron DeSantis, whose landslide victory in the state of Florida was breathtaking. The biggest loser? Donald Trump, whose handpicked loyalist candidates in a number of races struggled to beat vulnerable Democrats. Once again, the former president may have cost Republicans control of the Senate, in a year when it was theirs to lose.
Many will conclude, on the basis of the midterm 2022 results, that the Republican Party is ready to move on, without Donald Trump as its leader.
DeSantis scored a win in Florida that was one for the record books. In Miami-Dade County, a region which
I call Bravo Sierra, plenty of blame to go around…IMHO.

Sigh…this narrative is already tiresome, and it’s only the day after the midterms. No, Liz, he isn’t. He was smart enough to tackle his state’s vote fraud machine. I’ll give him that. But, just because the GOP Establishment wants him (temporarily) to be the “head of the party” in order to get rid of Trump, doesn’t mean he’s the king. We say who we will give our support to, and I always look to who someone’s friends are. DeSantis’ friends are the enemies of grass roots conservatives. So no, Liz, he isn’t. I don’t dislike him, and if runs for President at some point, I may support him. But, the harder you guys try to push this, the more suspect I become.

Listening to Hannity and the 2 pollsters that he had on his show numerous times, a red wave was in the making. As it turned out, the Dems are not only surprised with glee but know that the mess all over the country has been take in stride. The Republicans should have netted at least 25-40 seats in the House given the state of affairs. Right now, even thought it's biased, the headlines are indicating "still up in the air", "too close to call", etc. In conclusion, there was NO Red Wave. Much more attention is needed on Kevin "MultiUseless2.0" McCarthy and Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell. They are not "leaders".

The narrative is playing out as expected. The establishment pumps up Desantis to get rid of Trump and MAGA. Im listening to Milo on Tim Pool right now and he laid it all out. The establishment Republicans did nothing or worse.

The new leader remains to be seen. Do we get to have a say? Probably not.

No SARC/OFF button needed.

Some Republicans participate in the circular firing squad; others make sure all the others have a weapon and plenty of ammo.

Never trust a guy who is getting advice from the Bush clan. That is what I hear is going on with DeSantis. He also has some megadonor NeverTrumpers at his beck and call as well. DeSantis might be a decent governor, but as president I don't believe I would trust him. Not with the associations he keeps.

O'Dea more or less denounced Trump, and both Bolduc and Oz swung from pro-Trump during nomination season to trying to create distance during the general. They all lost. So this is bad advice from Liz Peek.

Considering I stopped being a Republican in January of 2021, and became a conservative independent, all I can say is that Donald Trump has my support, vote, and money in 2024 if he chooses to run. The last I checked, there were at least 75,000,000+ people who feel just like I do.
If the incredibly self-destructive Republi-Can't Party wants to alienate us, they won't be able to win dog catcher in any future elections!!!!!
So, Liz Peek, shove your opinion where the sun don't shine!!!!

I agree that Trump’s star is no longer rising and that DeSantis is the new star. Watching him save Florida and then make it prosper while other states languished and failed is a thing of beauty. Trump had his day in the sun. Yes, he’s was a great POTUS, and yes, he got screwed out of 2020, but it’s over and nothing can be done about it. We’ve tried.
The GOP would be wise to move on. We have a good bench; Kari Lake, Obi Ron, others. Regretfully, Trump is too old, too narcissistic, too juvenile. With each passing day, he’s pi$$ing off more voters, the very voters he needs. My own family is an example; once huge Trump fans, now, not so much. They’re mad at him for tainting our chances in the midterms. And beyond.
If the GOP is to survive and improve, we have to jettison him and get real. I know I’ll get flamed for this post by some, and so be it. But the truth is the truth.

Not so fast there, pilgrim. Just because some overpaid writer says so means nothing. I believe it is up to the American people to decide who they want for a leader. It is not something an elite pontificator is going to tell us and then expect that we will just submit to her superior intellect. Nuh huh. Not going to happen. You see we have a good memory. We can reason and understand our lives were measurably better under a Trump presidency. Not saying DeSantis would not do well, but we have a history we can look back on with Trump. Plus, Americans trust Trump. We know he is not an Ivy League politician. He’s just a guy who loves the country and will move heaven and earth to make our lives better, the country stronger, and restore the respect we have always had before the buffoons of 2008 and 2020 came along. So before you go writing Trump’s obituary, you may want to wait until we the people weigh in. I am not anti-DeSantis but I will not abandon the guy I trust and know is not dependent on the globalist donor class to set him up to run in 2024.

How anyone can listen to, "Florida is where Woke goes to die," and think that represents a more moderate tone than the economic conservatism Trump pushes is delusional. We need to quit firing our candidates because the opposition hates them. That didn't stop the Democrats from pushing Barrack, Hillary and Joe on us.

DeSantis won in Florida because he could keep a close eye on on Democrat fraud. It's his farmhouse so he keeps it clean.
Trump is working the farm around the farmhouse. He's having to deal with pesky coyotes, and other threats and his help is spotty and undependable. In retrospect, I think he did well.
But he needs better help, not critism.

If this "conservative" is singing the praises of DeSantis, it makes me suspicious as hell. First "conservative" Megan McCain, now her? Better question it.
