It’s Ron DeSantis’ GOP Now

"The Red Wave.” If you’ve been watching Fox News and frequenting conservative websites the last few weeks (and this commentator admits he does more than his share of both), you were hearing how Republicans were going to have another one of those massive 2010-style seat pickups in the House. Win 56 seats in the Senate. Celebrate upsets in Michigan and even New York governors’ mansions. Yeah, right. Fox News commentators (yeah, doing it again) in the wee hours of Wednesday morning were struggling to justify salvaging at least a “Red Ripple.” Turned out to be a Red Puddle. Of blood.

It is time for DJT to retire from politics. He probably cost more votes than he gained. He was robbed in 2020 but he laid the groundwork for the steal by his very poor DOJ appointments.

You can't blame this on PDT; he is not God, he's not perfect, and he can't do everything. He's certainly done more than most Americans put together. This is about nothing done to stop the cheating. I blame the Republican Party machine after putting most of the blame on cheating leftists. They do what they do-kill, steal, and destroy; we do what we do to stop them-nothing. Florida is a good example of representatives doing something. DeSantis did the thing, and look at Florida. We the people talk and go to rallies. We depend on our representatives to act. They don't, so now it's our turn. What will we do?

#1, Look, jettisoning President Trump is not a winning move. There are many people who are loyal to him and will not abandon him. To try and force him out would be a disaster. While DeSantis looks great, I am wary of exactly who is funding him.

When you don't win, you lose. The Trumpistas had better have a plan B in mind. Some here were warning about counting chickens before this election. Gonna double down on a losing strategy? Or was it all rigged to lose? It's time for an honest assessment, not pom pom shaking.

This isn’t PDT’s fault. After two generations of chaos, fraud, cheating the hill is too steep. After this ‘success’ the Left will throw all they have and more at the ‘24 nominee. Only Donald Trump can face that. It’s not DeSantis’ time yet.

Trump is absolutely killing us. There were good primary candidates who could have fared much better than losers like Mastriano and Oz. There were independents who might have voted for our candidates but detest him so much they declined to vote for the party of Trump. As for showing him loyalty, I will show him the same loyalty he shows others, which is to say, none.

Let the blame game begin. Since J6 Gopers and there hand wringers have closed their minds and eyes to the obvious voter fraud, citing one court case, without ever viewing the evidence, or state manipulating Gov after another as proof positive things are sweet and dandy. Well folks this is where we're at. A complete mentally ill corrupt moron has just been "elected" to the United States Senate. If you TDS republicans actually believe that is even remotely possible without voter fraud on a massive scale in a thoroughly corrupt State like Pa. then PT Barnum was more right than even he knew. Arizona is probably a better example of fraud, but hey lets not get down and dirty and call a spade a spade.

Trump is great and can win. Same for DeSantis. But anyone who thinks replacing Trump with DeSantis will reduce the Dems' and media's vitriol toward the GOP is naive. Once DeSantis is the #1 guy he will be labeled a fascist -- just like Trump was labeled a fascist, just like GWB was labeled a fascist, just like Reagan was labeled a fascist. See how it works?

Perhaps Bob, but you wait and see how the Left goes after DeSantis when he runs for President. Yes, he got a got of things done in FL, but being President and getting a lot of things is difficult if you don't have support of your party leadership and are attacked baseless 24/7. Trump still got a lot done for the USA. Bob seems to assume that DeSantis will have the support of McConnell, et al when he runs but that presumes DeSantis doesn't go after their swamp. And DeSantis will face the entirety of the DNC media. As I said before, they will dig up some E-3 female sailor who will claim DeSantis as a Navy LT attacked her...blah blah blah.

Trump is the big loser this morning. PA and GA Senate races should have been easy wins for the Republican given how poor the Dem candidates were, but not with Trump candidates like Oz and Walker. The reason the Dems did so good last night was because Trump is still viewed as the leader of the Republican Party, and nobody energizes the Dems and independents like Trump. If Trump cares about the conservative cause and therefore this country, he will fade into the background. But, given his ego, I doubt that he will. Looks like we are heading for trouble again in 2024.......sad.

Wednesday morning quarterbacking with shouts of anger. When you don't fix the cheat the cheat still exists. Republicans before and after 2020 did nothing but complain, 2000 mules were still in the stall in 2022 so why act surprised? Donald Trump got two things wrong. In 2017 the businessman, Trump, entered Washington with too much trust and faith, for it he was stabbed in the back by uni-party republicans. In control with three branches of government and Ryan lost it, thank the RINOs. Trump changed the nation for the good even combating the onslaught of the democrats who controlled the FBI, military, CIA, ATF and every other government department you can think of. In the end Trump might have had five friends along with his family surrounding him before the FBI finished them off. Trump's second mistake was announcing that rally and having it walking distance to the capital. Pelosi and the FBI set the trap republicans walked into it. The rally should have been in a neighboring state driving distance to the capital. Two mistakes but I will support Trump first because I know he will approach Washington different getting the job done when he arrives there again. Leave DeSantis in Florida keeping it a red state leading by example his time to lead will come but I won't jump off the Trump train now.

I tuned into Fox sporadically while watching the Rangers-Islanders hockey game, and from eight o'clock on until ten, I said to my wife that I didn't see a Red Wave. It turns out that This morning, I saw that I was correct and thus concluded that Trump will not run. For some reason, the intelligent voting public decided to stick with Democrats in spite of the wrong direction the country was moving. What I can't believe is the polling, always slanted to the Democrats, called for a big Republican victory. How could they have been so wrong? Somehow, the Democrat machine pulled this off and I'll always have doubts about these results. Trump should fade into the background and leave it to DeSantis to take the slings and arrows for 2024. We are so screwed!

Trump will never allow this. He would rather we all go down in flames (and the Country as well) than vote for anyone but Donald J. Trump---he will wage an insidious campaign to "get" DeSantis, and if there is a primary and he "wins" (because the vote will be split with too many candidates and his 35% of the Party would die for him and support him,) he will lose the election because he is so disrespectful and petty. If he loses the Primary he would rather see the Democrats win. That is IT in a nutshell.

#3 poster is INCORRECT........ and #6 has no idea how many of us, Trump voters and supporters, are sick and tired of the drama, the belittling, the total nonsense. Even on the night of election, Trump was actively poisoning the well for us by belittling Republican candidates (as in Colorado) just because they won't fall in line with the stolen election idea...and I DO think there was corruption, by the way...not the least via the Press, Justice and FBI protection of Biden re: hHunter and Biden's own involvement). Trump pushed some weak candidates, by the way, at the expense of electable ones (in Pa. for example, and probably in Ga.) BECAUSE they bowed to him, and then gave them no $$$$$$$$$$---and they were such newbies they had no idea how to raise $ on their own. WHY is so bad for DeSantis to run in 2024. He will be among a lot of other candidates who will run. If Trump runs, and the American people think he is the guy to be President, they will vote for him in the Primary! Same for DeSantis! The only reason people are afraid to see DeSantis run is they think he will knock out Trump. If that happens, it's what the People want! I hate to already see the tearing down of Governor DeSantis because he won a huge victory in his State. He earned that victory by doing what the folks in his state (me included) have asked him to do. And it was most likely wrong. But that doesn’t mean there is no effort on the part of Western elites to put the peasants on a strict diet. Most by now have seen reports that Dutch officials are closing as many as 3,000 farms in the Netherlands, the world’s second-largest exporter of agricultural products by value even though it’s only slightly larger than Maryland, to comply with crackpot European Union carbon dioxide emissions rules. With the holiday season upon us, the gift-giving and feasting seasons are also in full swing. But this year, Americans will find the prices they pay for holiday essentials higher than ever. Much of that is due to the soaring price of something we all take for granted: diesel fuel. Diesel fuel prices are up roughly 50% from last year, in large part due to fast-dwindling supplies, affecting the cost of everything, including food, transportation, manufactured goods, even gifts. Ships use diesel fuel. So do trucks and trains. Desperate farmers need diesel to fuel their tractors and other farm equipment.

From Athens to Zaire, from commune to kingdom, from democracy to dictatorship, when people come together to form a society there will always be those who take advantage, who prey, who scheme, who profit from their position. Every government ever has violated its own laws, flouted its own rules, changed long-standing practices for immediate gain, side-stepped its foundational concepts and strictures, dismissed societal codes of conduct, and ignored the basic ethical standards of humanity.

Sen. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.

Bolton kinda-sorta threw his hat in the ring yesterday, or more accurately, announced that he would consider tossing his hat in the ring, yada yada yada. Bolton wants to goad other Republicans into fighting Trump now over his remarks about “terminating” the Constitution, while at the same time misrepresenting what’s actually happening among GOP elected officials:

The family of a Capitol Police officer who died the day after he fended off the rioters on January 6 refused to shake the hand of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) at a ceremony honoring those who defended lawmakers as the mayhem unfolded throughout that day. “The family of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick — his mother, father and brother — refused to shake hands with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy at a Congressional Gold Medal ceremony honoring the police departments that worked to save the U.S. Capitol during the riot,” reported CBS News.
