The third-ranking House Democrat played the Nazi card ahead of expected Republican wins in next week’s midterm elections, claiming the US is “on track to repeat what happened in Germany.”
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) raised eyebrows by describing Weimar Germany as “the greatest democracy going when it elected a chancellor that then co-opted the media” in an interview with Fox News Digital.
“This past president called the press the enemy of the people,” he continued, referring to former President Donald Trump. “That is a bunch of crap. And that is what’s going on in this country.”
Social media users were quick to call out Clyburn’s comments, with many mocking

The White House on Wednesday deleted a Twitter post after it was fact-checked for making an inaccurate claim about the Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) that was recently announced.
“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” the now-deleted White House Twitter post said.
However, the post failed to mention that the COLA adjustment was due to surging, decades-high inflation. COLA adjustments have been automatically done every year for decades due to federal law, and the adjustments are not contingent on any of the Biden administration’s policies.
“The point was incomplete,” a White House official told The Epoch Times via email.

The Pelosi home and neighborhood are lit up with CCTV cameras, around-the-clock security detail, and no doubt, motion detectors everywhere. No one is getting within 100 yards of the Pelosi home without being identified. No one is breaking into that house. You can bet on it.We are supposed to accept that a man walked behind the house unnoticed and hammered on a window in a back door until the glass broke. The glass, by the way, landed outside the house which makes no sense since the force against the window reportedly came from the

The screenshots of Richard Rowe’s old Facebook posts criticizing anti-vaxxers have recently started making the rounds again. Richard Allen Rowe, a truck driver and a Democrat running for Congress in Florida, died in October 2021 just a few months after getting his Pfizer shot, Evie Magazine reported.
The outlet added, “On November 1, 2021, an apparent Facebook post was shared by Travis Akers, Rowe’s friend. According to Akers, Rowe had suddenly died while walking his dog. “Florida House District 23 progressive candidate and my friend Richard Rowe has died unexpectedly. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan suggested that gender-neutral admission processes could give “white men” an advantage over people who have been “kicked in the teeth” during an oral argument Monday on a pair of lawsuits deciding whether affirmative action within Harvard University and the University of North Carolina (UNC) is constitutional.
During the oral argument for Students for Fair Admissions v. President and Fellows of Harvard, Kagan suggested to Patrick Strawbridge, who is representing Students for Fair Admissions, that higher education institutions that use gender-neutral policies lead to unequal outcomes for men at universities. Kagan noted that “white men” could get a “thumb on the scale” in university admissions if educational

A climate protester glued his shaved head to the world-famous “Girl with a Pearl Earring” painting at a museum in The Hague on Thursday, the latest in a series of stunts targeting iconic artworks.
A second activist glued his hand to the wall next to the painting and poured a can of tomato soup over his accomplice’s head, before going on a rant about climate change while being jeered by stunned onlookers.
Dutch master Johannes Vermeer’s 1665 canvas is protected by glass at the Mauritshuis museum and was not damaged, gallery staff said. “The police were notified and three people have been arrested.

The four teenagers killed in a Buffalo car crash while attempting a TikTok challenge encouraging car theft have been identified — with a young mom among the victims.
Marcus Webster, 19, Swazine Swindle, 17, Kevin Payne, 16, and Ahjanae Harper, 14, were killed when the stolen Kia they were riding in crashed Monday morning, ejecting them and one other passenger, WGRZ reporter Claudine Ewing confirmed Tuesday.
The driver, 16, was treated at the hospital and released, while a fifth passenger, a 14-year-old girl, is listed in good condition at Erie County Medical Center.
In a video shared on Twitter, a local says Harper had recently welcomed a baby girl.

Tampa — With barely two weeks left before Election Day, a new Florida Atlantic University poll shows incumbent Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis with an 11-point lead over his hopeless and hapless Democratic challenger, Charlie Crist. This is the same margin as the one reflected in a Mason-Dixon poll in late September. The current RealClearPolitics average of polls shows DeSantis up by 10 points.
This comfortable lead should come as no surprise, both because of DeSantis’ solid performance as governor and because of Crist’s total lack of performance in the many offices he’s held. Inexplicably, Crist marched up the Florida political food chain, starting as a state senator in

Last month in Cherokee County, North Carolina, a high school girls’ volleyball game was played between Hiwassee Dam High and Highlands High. One of the players on the Highlands team, a biological male, hammered a spike at an estimated 70 mph. The shot looked different than the shots the biological girls were making. It was “abnormally fast,” said one witness.
The spike beaned a Hiwassee Dam girl in the head. The assaulted player went down hard, having suffered devastating injuries to her head and neck. A month has passed, and she is still suffering from a long-term concussion, including impairment to her vision. She has not been cleared to play.

Protesters twice in two weeks have crashed town hall meetings held by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, with the second event resulting in the unofficial leader of House Democrats' progressive wing known as the "Squad" deciding do essentially throw up her arms and and do dance moves until the drum-backed chants quieted.
Video of the incident Wednesday in Queens shows the two-term congresswoman sitting on the stage of a small auditorium in which the event was held doing the moves as the crowd chanted "AOC has got to go."
Still, the 33-year-old lawmaker is favored to win reelection on Nov. 8 against GOP challenger Tina Forte, considering her 14th Congressional District

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is expressing extreme confidence in his chances of becoming Speaker next year if Republicans win control of the House in the midterm elections, suggesting that divine intervention is the only thing that can keep him from the gavel. McCarthy said in an interview with Punchbowl News published Monday that he believes he can win the votes of the House Republican Conference no matter how large a GOP majority is, that the prospect of losing does not keep him up at night, and that if he doesn’t win, it wasn’t in “God’s plan.” “I think I can win
