A major Pennsylvania newspaper has endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz which could provide a much-needed boost in a tight Senate race just a week before the midterm elections are held.
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, 0r PG, the largest newspaper in the metropolitan area, has announced its endorsement of Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz in his Senate race against Democrat John Fetterman. The paper’s editorial board began to relay their decision to their readership in a slightly reserved, regretful tone. The article laments the quality of the race, the debates, and the candor of the candidates. Despite their disappointment in the campaign season, they make it absolutely clear

Analysts at the non-partisan Cook Political Report moved the rating for ten congressional districts in favor of the Republican candidates with only a week left before the midterm race.
Cook Political explained that many of the congressional districts President Joe Biden won comfortably during the last presidential election are at risk of being lost because Democrat governors are underperforming. In comparison, Republicans are surging as they focus on high crime and skyrocketing inflation. The report explained that the safest Democrats are in states that do not have competitive statewide races.
The 12 districts that Cook changed were:

President Biden incorrectly said during a stump speech Tuesday that his late son Beau lost his life while serving in Iraq — at least the second time in a matter of weeks the commander-in-chief has made the false claim.
Biden was discussing inflation, Medicare and Social Security in South Florida when he first confused the Iraq War with Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, then said he was thinking of the earlier conflict because of his son.
“They talk about inflation … inflation is a worldwide problem right now because of a war in Iraq and the impact on oil and what Russia’s doing … excuse me, the war in Ukraine,”

Julie Powell, the food writer best known for her wildly popular memoir “Julie & Julia,” has died suddenly at the age of 49.
The best-selling author passed away at her home in Olivebridge, New York, last Wednesday after going into cardiac arrest, according to the New York Times. She is survived by her husband, brother and parents.
Powell became a literary sensation in 2005 following the release of “Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen” — a humorous account of her attempt to re-create every recipe from Julia Child’s classic cookbook “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.”

A group of House Republicans, led by Georgia Rep. Jody Hice, sent a letter to President Joe Biden on Tuesday requesting that he call for the resignation of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus.
In the letter, first obtained by the Daily Caller, the Hice and 15 GOP lawmakers mention a report from Politico in which five current Biden administration officials who work with Magnus told the outlet that he is unengaged in his job. The sources also told Politico that Magnus does not attend White House meetings about the border crisis, talks disparagingly about other agencies to other CBP officials and has not built relationships with CBP or

Federal communication officials urged the U.S. government Tuesday to ban the video-sharing app TikTok in a plea to protect the private data of American citizens.
Brendan Carr, one of five commissioners for the Federal Communications Commission, told Axios the federal agency could not regulate the social media app and that the data flow back to Beijing and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Chinese tech giant ByteDance owns TikTok, which currently has more than 200 million downloads in the United States — and according to Fox Business, the company must share its data with the CCP upon request, as required by law.

Megyn Kelly isn’t buying the San Francisco Police Department’s version of events as it investigates the assault on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband.
“I know enough to smell a rat,” the former Fox News and NBC star said during her podcast on Monday.
During an interview with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) on her SiriusXM podcast on Monday, Kelly blasted any notion that the attack on Paul Pelosi, 82, was politically motivated, pointing out that the suspect, David DePape, 42, is a “lunatic.”

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday sided with an argument made by Republicans in their lawsuit seeking to prevent the counting of improperly completed ballots in next week's general election, throwing out a lower court's ruling that would have allowed PA election officials to count absentee and mail-in ballots that were not correctly dated and signed.
PA's Supreme Court justices vacated the 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals' decision that would have allowed the counting of ballots that were not completed as the Keystone State election laws require, and ruled that the "Pennsylvania county boards of elections are hereby ordered to refrain from counting

I know writing about how Joe Biden gave a speech that was jam-packed with moments where the incoherency was on full-blown display is a bit like writing a “dog bites man” piece. But the one Biden gave in front of a group of Florida Democrats Tuesday, just one week out from the midterm elections, deserves special mention not just because it happened, but also because of what it was designed to do (but didn’t).
Biden was in Florida to, as CNN reported, rally the Democratic faithful there ahead of Election Day by invoking so-called “mega-MAGA Republicans” as the biggest threat this country has ever faced or whatever. During his speech –

Exit polls predicted Tuesday evening that former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be able to form a majority bloc and return to power in a new coalition government, according to Israeli news sources.

Opponents to President Joe Biden's student-debt relief took their legal battle to the Supreme Court on Tuesday in the latest attempt to get the nation's highest court to block the plan.
Indiana student-loan borrowers Frank Garrison and Noel Johnson are seeking to halt the program, claiming it's unlawful and requires them to pay more in taxes because the debt cancelation is considered taxable income under state law.
"The administration is attempting to erase half a trillion dollars in debt without any legal basis," Caleb Kruckenberg, an attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation, a conservative law firm
