Tens of thousands of Czechs used a national holiday Friday to rally in the capital against the pro-Western government and its support for Ukraine’s fight against the Russian invasion. The rally follows two others at Prague’s central Wenceslas Square and was smaller than the 70,000 who gathered for the same reasons on Sept. 3, according to police estimates. Held under the slogan “The Czech Republic first,” a reference to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s nationalist platform, the protest united the far right with the far left and various fringe groups. Its organizers are known for pro-Russian views and opposition to COVID-19 vaccines.

Just because we're not willing to bleed our country dry, doesn't make us "pro-Russian." But I'll own "opposition to C19 vax."

#1. The AP comments linking all this to Trump is obligatory, ain't it?

People are waking up all around the world to the fact that their leaders have an agenda that has little to do with the best interests of their countries. As a rule, people do not want war. They don’t want to sacrifice their children and their wealth to fight a war when they don’t feel it is in their best interests.
The war in Ukraine is mess of misinformation and propaganda. I honestly do not know what in the world is going on and who to trust. We are sending massive amounts of money and for what? Is there any accountability or oversight? Is this just another money laundering scheme at the expense of the Ukrainian people? Is Biden pushing the world toward WWIII? Something is just not right.
I do not blame the Czech people. Who wants war? We have had enough to last a lifetime. Is there no possibility of a diplomatic resolution? Has a serious effort even have even been made to bring people to the negotiating table? If this country had a real leader that would have been a priority, instead we have a blowhard making things worse. We need serious adults who understand how quickly a situation can get out of hand until it consumes the area and puts millions of people at risk. This is what the world looks like when you have a corrupt and incompetent President.
The people who actually go on the ground and fight these wars are tired of being pawns of men who sit in expensive offices making decisions that benefit themselves more than it does their countries or people. Who can blame them?

Re: #3 Thanks for shorter paragraphs this time. They are much easier to read than the usual 800-1000 word paragraphs. I love what you write, but sometimes I bog down in the very long paragraphs.

That’s 0.45% of the total population. Not exactly a tidal wave of popular public sentiment.

Some people prefer to live under another's boot. Easier that way. Cuts down on the number of choices one makes. How much is Russia spending on influencing and manipulating the Czech Republic?

So, according to the press, if your opposed to the Covid vaccine your pro Russia? The mental gymnastics that must go through a leftist brain explains why they are so screwed up.

The Russians have a lot of influence still in all the former soviet block countries. And enough of Putin's money to pay folks to show up.
Just like most of our ecocrazies are funded by the Russians, too. Us shutting down our oil production raises world prices and Russia gets to get more money from it's primary export items, oil and gas.

I don't consider support for the Ukraine as Western, as I do not support the war in Ukraine, or the Biden presidency.

I don't know all of the particulars as the media is very good at omission and gas lighting (meme of the Century) but I am not going to judge people who are enduring that which I am not - yet ( and hopefully never will).
My Czech relatives don't want to return to Communism nor to transition to any progressive great reset. They want to conserve what they have had for 3 decades - freedom and national and energy security. I want that here as well but the neocons and NWO have another agenda.
