A week ago, Colorado senate republican candidate Joe O’Dea said on CNN, “I don’t think Donald Trump should run again.” He quickly added, ” I’m going to actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we have got four or five really great Republicans right now; Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott.”
President Trump blasted O’Dea the following day. Today, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis picked Joe O’Dea as his only 2022 endorsed senate candidate, recording a robocall for O’Dea that says, “Hello this is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. America needs strong leadership and desperately. That’s why I’m endorsing Joe O’Dea for U.S. Senate. Colorado, please vote for Joe O’Dea.”

House Republicans have for months threatened to impeach Joe Biden and equally disastrous members of his administration for their intentional attempts to destroy America if — which is now pretty much when — the GOP retakes control of the House in the midterms, now just two weeks away.
Apparently, those threats weren’t serious. At least not in Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s case. McCarthy last Wednesday downplayed talk of impeaching Biden or officials of the disastrous administration if the GOP regains control.
Just one problem. Republican lawmakers have introduced more than a dozen impeachment resolutions targeting Biden, Kamala Harris, and controversial Cabinet members, including Attorney General Merrick Garland, Secretary of State Antony Blinken,

Former President Donald Trump fired off a foreboding Truth on Sunday night, reacting to a Washington Examiner exclusive that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is recording a robocall for a Republican candidate whom Trump has rejected.
That candidate is Joe O’Dea, the underdog Senate contender in Colorado who is trailing Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) in public opinion polls and last week made waves when he vowed to "actively campaign against" Trump and spoke favorably of other party heavyweights, including DeSantis.
Sharing the article written by Washington Examiner senior political correspondent David Drucker on his Truth Social platform, Trump added a brief message. "A BIG MISTAKE!" Trump said in all capital letters.

Washington — Plastic recycling rates are declining even as production shoots up, according to a Greenpeace USA report out Monday that blasted industry claims of creating an efficient, circular economy as "fiction." Titled "Circular Claims Fall Flat Again," the study found that of 51 million tons of plastic waste generated by U.S. households in 2021, only 2.4 million tons were recycled, or around five percent. After peaking in 2014 at 10 percent, the trend has been decreasing, especially since China stopped accepting the West's plastic waste in 2018. Virgin production — of non-recycled plastic, that is — meanwhile is rapidly rising as the

Twitter employees have penned an open letter to soon-to-be boss Elon Musk and the Board of Directors begging to keep their jobs, after the Washington Post reported that Musk is planning to get rid of nearly 75% of the company's 7,500 workers - whittling Twitter down to a 'skeleton' staff of just over 2,000. "Elon Musk’s plan to lay off 75% of Twitter workers will hurt Twitter’s ability to serve the public conversation," reads a draft of the letter, which has not yet been published. "A threat of this magnitude is reckless, undermines our users’ and customers’ trust in our platform, and is a transparent act of worker intimidation."

A Russian court on Tuesday upheld American basketball star Brittney Griner's nine-year prison sentence for drug possession, rejecting her appeal in a session where she appeared via video call from a penal colony outside Moscow. Griner can still appeal to a higher court, but her lawyers have yet to confirm whether they will take the case further. The decision clears the way for the WNBA star to serve nine years in a penal colony, unless the U.S. government negotiates a deal. The eight-time all-star center with the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and a two-time Olympic gold medalist was convicted on August

President Biden attacked Republicans in a speech to the Democratic National Committee headquarters on Monday, stoking claims that Republicans would "crash the economy" in an attempt to force him to gut Medicare.
Biden also used the opportunity to coin the term "Mega-MAGA trickle down," which is how he has chosen to refer to Republican economic policies. The president went on to name House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, arguing that he and his fellow Republicans would grow the deficit by $3 trillion if their priorities were to pass. He also argued the party plans to use the deficit as a bludgeon against him.

More than 233,000 Cook County residents applied to be part of the nation’s largest test of whether a universal basic income will reduce poverty, Cook County Board of Commissioners President Toni Preckwinkle said Monday.
The 3,250 people who win the lottery to participate in the two-year program could get the first of 24 $500 monthly payments by the end of December, officials said.
“The overwhelming response from our residents speaks to the need being felt in all our communities at this unique time in history,” Preckwinkle said. “Cook County is proud to be leading in the American guaranteed income movement and

The first and only debate between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz is happening Tuesday. Fetterman, a Democrat and the current Pennsylvania Lt. Governor, and Dr. Oz, his Republican challenger, will face off without a live audience. In an unusual twist, the Fetterman campaign is lowering expectations before the debates happens.Fetterman, once expected to trounce Oz in the race to be Pennsylvania’s next senator, now runs as though he is the underdog. Since he suffered a serious stroke, his ability to serve in the Senate has been called into question. All polls still show Fetterman ahead of Oz, though only just barely.

MSNBC legal analyst Barbara McQuade said Monday on “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump could be charged with manslaughter for his role in the January 6 Capitol riot.
Discussing Liz Cheney’s comments, Anchor Nicolle Wallace said, “Let me ask you, I think what they’re saying is that even if you were that deluded, quote, ‘You may not send an armed mob to the Capitol or sit for 87 minutes and refuse to stop the attack. You may not send out a tweet that incites further violence.’ It sounds like around the violence. She’s looking at what the committee talks about as dereliction of duty.

Joe and Dr. Jill Biden on Monday participated in a tree-planting ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House.
The tree-planting ceremony was in honor of Dale Haney who has been a White House groundskeeper for the past 50 years.
Dr. Jill, Joe Biden and Dale Haney took a photo together after planting a tree.
Jill bossed her husband Joe around because he wasn’t paying attention to the photographer.
