GOP Rep. Mike Garcia holds one of House Republicans’ most vulnerable districts. But Democrats have barely spent a dime on TV to take him down.
The decision, according to those involved, was driven by a relative lack of resources: As Republicans’ biggest House super PAC floods the election with hundreds of millions of dollars, their Democratic counterparts have lagged far behind. Some members of the California Democratic delegation were alarmed by the decision to leave Garcia’s district untouched — and they have urged their party’s campaign arm in recent weeks not to abandon a seat that President Joe Biden won by double digits, according to multiple people familiar with the discussions.

Prior politico stories trumpeted the fact that "Dems are breaking all fundraising and spending records, winning the money game!"...looks like maybeeeeee....they shot their wad too soon.

The DCCC has also pulled all its money out of TX-15, where Monica de la Cruz (R) is going to win an open seat as my Congresscritter. Her opponent, Michelle Vallejo (D), makes AOC look like a member of the John Birch Society.
The incumbent, Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-McAllen, switched to TX-34 thinking it would be a cake walk. But Rep. Mayra Flores may end up keeping her seat she won in a special election. While Mayra is a great candidate, that would be a big loss for the Democrats -- and self inflicted as well. If the previous congresscritter, who announced that he wasn't going to run in 2022, had stayed on until 2023, I'd have bet all the grocery money on Vicente.
But no, the RAT had to cash out and start working as a lobbyist early. So there had to be a special election for the seat. Since Vincente was ALREADY in Congress, he couldn't run for the post. The Republicans, and Mrs. Flores wisely thought winning the special election would put them in a place to win in November.
And right now, an easy win for the Democrats has become a toss-up!
Sounds like we Republicans in South Texas are in for a two-fer. And I wouldn't count out TX-28 (Laredo) either for the trifecta.
If anyone, even two or four years ago had said that in 2022, we could have three Hispanic female Republicans in Congress along the lower Texas Rio Grande border, I would have checked if the cigarettes they were smoking came in packs other than 20 and probably reached out to local mental health professionals for assistance.
But then again, one of the very interesting things of the 2020 election happened in a small county along the Texas-Mexico border (Zapata County, between Mc Allen and Laredo). In 2016,. Hillary Clinton won that county by a 60% margin [not 60-40, I'm talking 80-20]. In 2020, Trump won it by 5 percentage points!

The article mentions several times "districts Biden won". Well, maybe Biden didn't actually win those districts fairly. Imagine that.....

I sent hundreds of dollars to the candidates of my choice - ZERO to the RNC. I don't want Mitch to have ANY control on where my money winds up. NONE to the Repub Party, all to candidates that I selected.

Article read like a lament that the Dems couldn't do better to protect their majority and prevent Repubs from going after Biden should they win the house in November.
Politico sounds like a democrat news organization - similar to WaPo or the NYT.

Dumb as they are, even dem congress members aren't willing to waste $$$'s on lost causes. That premise is clearly proven in the article --- DCCC members aren't paying their full party dues to help save the majority..... Dems are twisted, amoral and sociopathic and they're more than willing to waste OUR hard-earned tax $$$'s but they're not about to squander their donated-by-the-dumb campaign $$$'s to help a helpless cause.

Sounds like they're trying to provide early excuses, rationalization and justification for the expected loss of the House.
My hunch, they are looking to save those safer districts which enables them to put one of more out there for the TV folks to say the most outrageous things about Republicans.
Also, in some states where abortion is legal, it's not the issue it once was for Democrats to exploit (fool people into thinking something might happen even though it won't). Thought they're trying to use it as an issue for the Katie Porter seat in Irvine.
Abortion is legal in CA, just up-to viability, but trying to fool people into thinking her opponent's Federal House seat might change existing California law, which it can't.

Why spend money you don’t have when you can just flip a switch on a voting machine or pull a bag of illegal ballots from under a table and win anyway. The GOP will never bother to challenge you any way.
