The Elephant in the Room Roars to Life 13 replies

Though the signs of decline have been obvious since well before he was inaugurated, this week – over a year and a half into Joe Biden’s time in office – the mainstream media have finally taken off the kid gloves on the issue of Joe Biden’s mental fitness after the elephant in the room finally roared to life.As we previously reported, a clearly unprepared press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was peppered with a barrage of questions Wednesday about President Joe Biden calling out and searching for Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) during a White House conference on hunger, apparently forgetting that she’d passed away nearly two months ago

The opposition was stubborn. And President Biden, frustrated. So, he started the year with a simple question: “What are Republicans for? What are they for?” Biden asked reporters at a January press conference. “Name me one thing they are for.” Six weeks from the midterm elections, one answer comes from the Republican Study Committee. They have written a comprehensive policy memo, called the “Family Policy Agenda” and first obtained by RealClearPolitics, which includes over 80 specific recommendations that they will try to make law if the GOP wins control of Congress. The stated goal: “restoring the American family.”

The woke mob decided a while back that using gendered language wasn’t inclusive. So they invented new words to stop the practice. There are a lot of problems with trying to eliminate gender in language, but a whopping big one is that about 40% of languages use gendered nouns. Chairs have genders. Bridges have genders. Everything has a gender. If you ever studied Spanish or any of the Romance languages you are familiar with this. German is gendered as well. It is called grammatical gender. As English speakers, this strikes us as weird. As a Germanic language, English used to have gendered nouns (grammatical gender) as well,

GA Senate Race: Why Warnock Can’t Shake Walker 9 replies

Most media reports about the U.S. Senate race between Democrat incumbent Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker have focused on the shortcomings of the latter. Georgia voters have been subjected to countless “news” stories questioning the former football star’s character, mental stability, and intelligence. Moreover, Walker has committed the cardinal sin of embracing former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Yet, despite all of the negative coverage and several truly rancid attack ads, Walker is still breathing down Warnock’s neck.

Ahead of Friday's official announcement of the "Commitment to America" agenda, House Republicans' plans for the future show that GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and his caucus are not shying away from the culture wars or avoiding diving into issues labeled "divisive" by Democrats. The House Republicans, hoping to retake the majority in November's midterms, rolled out the policy priorities they say will "create an economy that's strong, a nation that's safe, a future that's built on freedom, and a government that's accountable."

My, how quickly the plot changes with just a single flight to Martha’s Vineyard! To be fair, the media’s interest in the border crisis began spiking upward before then, but not much before Ron DeSantis sent 50 illegal immigrants to the wealthy Massachusetts enclave. When buses began arriving in “sanctuary cities” like New York City and Washington DC, thanks to the efforts of DeSantis, Greg Abbott, and Doug Ducey, the media went into full freak-out mode. They excoriated these Republican governors endlessly, and still do.And you can guess what that did for public interest in the border crisis. Axios reports this morning that it has now eclipsed interest in abortion,

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II has filled the news for a couple of weeks, and one of the parlor discussions regarding her funeral ceremony involved whether former President Donald Trump was snubbed from attending, either by the Royal family or by current President Joe Biden. As it turns out, there was no backroom drama concerning the appearance, as a US embassy official has clarified that the heavy interest and select seating meant that only Biden and his wife would be in attendance. This, of course, did not prevent speculation in the press, both regarding Trump being allegedly blocked and what political maneuvering Biden might have employed

President Biden has issued nearly 100 executive orders, which will cost taxpayers up to $1.5 trillion, as the national debt nears $31 trillion, according to an expert. Biden currently sits at 99 executive orders since taking office. His torrent pace came primarily within his first year, when he issued more than any president since the 1970s. Memos show at least one outside left-wing group financed by millions from liberal billionaire George Soros has influenced some of Biden's orders and regulatory items. A budgetary impact analysis, meanwhile, accompanies each order but does not include actual monetary costs. Instead, they contain vague language such as whether

There were a couple of eye-raising moments this weekend during an interview of President Joe Biden and CBS’ “60 Minutes.” One was his continued blanket denial that his son Hunter had done anything that had any impact on him or the country. However, it was the President sudden announcement that the pandemic “is over” that may have taken some people by surprise, including Administration lawyers still using the pandemic as a basis for policies and programs. This includes a major appellate case this week. The Administration relied on the pandemic to justify the massive loan forgiveness

The desperate attempts by the White House, congressional Democrats, and the corporate media to refocus voter attention on abortion rather than inflation are failing. Most reputable polls show that the electorate is far more concerned about mismanagement of the economy by President Biden and his collaborators in Congress than about threats to reproductive rights posed by “MAGA Republicans.” Contrary to Democratic hopes, November won’t be about abortion vs. inflation. The midterms will be a referendum on Biden’s performance, particularly as it affects inflation.

Senators negotiating a new, bipartisan version of a bill protecting same-sex marriage — and hoping to gain enough GOP support — say they have finished their work, potentially clearing the way for a pivotal test vote next week. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters the group of five senators hashing out changes designed to clarify religious freedom safeguards finished up on Wednesday. She and Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) expect the text of the legislation to be released on Thursday. That would allow Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to set up a vote as early as Monday on a modified version of the measure that passed the House in July.

Since my foray into politics, I have come to understand that our system comprises insiders and outsiders and that Donald Trump was the consummate outsider. He was opposed by the system on both sides of the political aisle. Admittedly, I counted myself amongst the opposition. It was only when faced with a choice of yet another Clinton, whom we were told held a 95% chance of victory, that I felt a throw-away vote for Trump was in order. To my surprise, the b@st@rd actually won. He wasn’t supposed to win.

If Democrats could pull off an upset in Utah, it would have profound consequences for the control of the Senate — and the rest of the country. Republican senators are growing concerned by colleague Mitt Romney’s refusal to help fellow Utah Republican Mike Lee decisively win his re-election campaign — a posture that could potentially keep their party from gaining a majority in the November elections. Unlike every other Republican senator, the 2012 failed Republican presidential candidate is declining to express a preference in Republican Lee’s re-election effort against Democrat-endorsed Evan McMullin.

President Biden once again shirked any responsibility for skyrocketing gas prices and instead demanded that gas stations cut prices at the pump for drivers despite their costs to stay in business being dictated by the market. [Video] His flawed economic reasoning is that oil prices are dropping. Oil prices are not the only factor in the price of a gallon of gasoline. Taxation and crushing regulation as well as progressive policies have a lot to do with it. It’s almost as if Biden and the left want to drive gas stations out of business. In a meeting with economic aides on Monday, Biden excoriated gas stations,

Sen. Joe Manchin’s humiliation was brought to completion on Tuesday after his Democrat-negotiated permitting reform deal officially fell through. Per RedState’s previous reporting, Manchin stabbed Republicans in the back during the summer, waiting until the CHIPS Act passed before doing an about-face on a big-spending reconciliation bill full of “climate change” payoffs. The West Virginia senator had supposedly struck a deal whereby he would pass the falsely named Inflation Reduction Act in exchange for Democrat support for permitting reform for oil and gas projects.
