Skyrocketing inflation is increasing the burden on American parents to raise children, according to the Brookings Institution. The Wall Street Journal published the left-wing institutions’ analysis that found it can cost up to over $310,605 to raise a child in today’s economy, which works out to an average of $18,271 per year to raise a child born after 2015.(Snip)The Brookings Institution used 2017 data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and adjusted it for current inflation. Along with food prices, the analysis looked at how other expenses contributed to soaring child-raising costs, including housing, clothing, health care, and child care, among other expenses.

Federal prosecutors have brought charges against a family they say conspired to smuggle a 10-year-old illegal immigrant girl into the country and then put her through a living hell in which she was raped repeatedly, stabbed with a kitchen knife and subjected to regular beatings. The case is one of the more horrific examples of immigrants abusing the “family loophole” in border policy, with an overwhelmed federal government assisting in the abuse. In this instance, that meant accepting the word of the illegal immigrant family that they were related to two Guatemalan girls. The government approved the family as sponsors and delivered the girls to situations that turned

Mr. Crenshaw, Texas Republican, has emerged as a leading critic of those like Rep. Houston, Texas — A Texas suspects she was poisoned by touching a napkin stuffed in her car’s door handle outside a Houston restaurant. Doctors agreed she had been poisoned but were unable to identify the poisonous material.

As she left the restaurant she noticed someone stuck a napkin in the door handle on the passenger side of her car, Fox 26 Houston’s Sherman Desselle reported. She pulled the napkin out of the door and opened it to get in the car. Once inside she asked her husband if he stuck the napkin

The FBI’s raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was directly approved and overseen by Justice Department officials with deep ties to Russiagate, as reported earlier. But there is surfacing evidence that those ties are more direct and extensive than previously believed.
A RealClearInvestigations review of the agents involved in the FBI’s Trump raid has found that the anti-Trump operation was run primarily by the Washington Field Office and not the Miami Field Office. The Washington Field Office is deeply enmeshed in the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane operation from 2016-2017, which featured laundered Clinton oppo research and FISA surveillance warrant abuse

The last show demonstrated exactly why the show got canceled and why Stelter got the boot. It’s clear how upset he was over getting canned, and the tears were sweet as he tried to justify himself. (Tweets/Videos) Curtis Houck of NewsBusters took the bullet for all of us and waded into the dreck.

Firefighters in Seattle have demanded the city take action after they were subjected to more than 40 violent attacks in the past four months—a string of assaults that have been largely carried out by the city's homeless population. The attacks, which the city’s firefighter’s union says began in May, have seen the protectors repeatedly targeted by the intemperate down-and-outs, often while responding to fires started at the city's growing number of homeless encampments. One such incident, which transpired last month, saw one fire official pelted with a rock while attempting to put out a blaze that originated from an encampment fire. Hundreds of migrants—at least some bussed to the Big Apple by Texas Gov. In a three-minute press conference following the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, Attorney General Merrick Garland cut a defiant figure, condemning critics of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI: “I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked.” He then left the stage without taking questions or answering that criticism.
It was a signature moment for Garland, who often responds to controversies with belated, rote remarks. His brief comments had all of the substance of a Hallmark card that read, “Trust us, we’re the government.” Yet trust has to be earned, not simply demanded

It’s getting harder to keep the populace in a state of panic (and therefore attempt to justify mass mail in voting and other election security diminishments) now that Covid is following the path of most other viral epidemics. The virus evolves into a less lethal form (that doesn’t kill off the hosts, in other words) that spreads even more easily.
That seems to be the case with the Omicron Variant of Covid, as Shauneen Miranda of NPR reports:

Any serious effort to end the crisis must deal with the problem of the administrative state and the bureaucratic power thereof. Without that focus, no reform effort can get anywhere. [snip] The solution has to be drastic and it has to work. The reason is simple: a free and functioning society cannot coexist with an undemocratic beast like this on the loose, making its own laws and running roughshod over rights and liberties with zero oversight from elected leaders. Until the administrative state is defanged and disempowered, there will be no representative government and no hope for change.

In a post published to his social media network, Truth Social, the former president ruthlessly mocked Stelter’s firing.
“Brian Stelter of Fake News CNN got fired because he lied, and lied, and lied – ABOUT ME. May he REST IN PEACE!” he wrote.

New CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht is not to be envied. He has taken over a cable news network that is bleeding profits and viewers with little prospect of improvement anytime soon.
Licht discovered, to his horror, that the network was massively dependent on Donald Trump for ratings. Without Trump to headline CNN’s news coverage, no one was very much interested in the biased commentary and left-wing slant to the news that became CNN’s hallmark.
CNN’s profits are expected to fall below $1 billion for the first time in many years. And its prime-time coverage is drawing less than 700,000 viewers a night. Clearly, Licht had to do something.

Dugin, 60, is what might be called a radical traditionalist as well as a “Eurasianist” or neo-Eurasianist — that is, he seeks the establishment of a bloc comprising the former Soviet Union, allied to the likes of Iran and Turkey, able to break the global hegemony of the U.S.-led West and lay down a new, multipolar status quo. Following the FBI’s raid of the residence of former President Donald Trump, there’s been much speculation about the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) motivation. Was it done to prevent Trump from running again in 2024, or was the raid related to documents and evidence surrounding the January 6th Commission? While these factors may have had some bearing on the FBI’s raid, some entirely different, and potentially larger, factors may be at play.
It is likely that the FBI’s raid on Trump was driven by intelligence community fears over information that was contained within those documents relating to the RussiaGate hoax.

Many have been held in horrible prison conditions for over a year, denied bail and an opportunity to have their cases heard outside this venue where the jurors will never grant them a fair trial.

When you cross the Rubicon, there is no going back. Democrats are getting very close to that fateful moment.
Their dream to indict Donald Trump has turned into determination, putting them on a collision course with history. No president has ever been prosecuted after leaving office, with even Richard Nixon escaping that infamy after Watergate because of how it would tear America apart.
