It is hard to imagine a political fall so far so fast. But then it is harder still to imagine a plunge so willful and unrepentant, featuring a sense of denial so stubborn that no public repudiation brings clarity.
But such is the power of Trump hatred, and such is the political death of Liz Cheney.
Her sad charade is over. She may not know it, but it is. After being booted from Wyoming’s only seat in the House of Representatives, she continues to spew hatred at the voters who showed her the door. They are gullible rubes for failing to hate Trump as she does, and terrorist sympathizers

Au contraire, it's not "willful and unrepentant," it's not "a sense of denial, not "hatred" and not "a sad charade" but, wait for it, exactly and simply what so many of us have been saying for years and years and years: This person is M-E-N-T-A-L-L-Y I-L-L. " When we all work with, live with and have daily contact with people who are M-E-N-T-A-L-L-Y I-L-L, why is it so difficult to recognize in people like Liz Cheney? Or Alec Baldwin? Or, well, Mr Unaware from Delaware?

Funny thing, she's not interested in the truth about J6, or she wouldn't have allowed the committee she sits on to conduct their inquiry the way they've done it.
She's only interested in "getting Trump", which I'm more inclined to realize is because he actually wants to improve things, to fix things, not just talk about them or create a committee to discuss the issues.
They could not allow him to actually achieve such things as it would create the question in many people's mind wondering why they couldn't, or wouldn't, do it sooner.
Many of them talking about things for decades with little, or minimal improvement in the lives of the people the program is supposed to benefit.
Yet, the size and scope of said government program grew and grew.

"Their doggedness is exceeded only by their self-absorption. No rebuke shakes them awake. Shown time and time again the empty marketplace for their aggressions, they simply double down, blaming the world for not appreciating their wisdom."
Why, they are just like democrats! Who knew? Nasty Pelousy certainly knew. That's why she picked Liz for the Jan 6th farce. Now Liz is out and Nasty will be losing her speakership again, hopefully for the final time.

FTA: " Liz Cheney may be found in endless speaking engagements, podcasts and MSNBC segments in the years to come, but she will never hold high public office again."
While I agree that she'll never hold public office again (as a Republican), I'm not convinced that she'll be on MSNBC, CNN, or the alphabet networks for much longer. Right now, she's a useful idiot for them, but a year from now, she'll be out of Congress, and just one of many mouths available to the networks. Think John Dean, Jeff Flake, Charlie Crist, and some of the other prominents who've been used and discarded over the years. Liz will join them shortly.

From what I have seen, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) effects RINO Republi-Can'ts far worse than it effects rabied lie-berals!!!!
Washington DC is not a "swamp", it's a sewer!!!! And even the most idealistic person going there to serve in the government gets infected with seweritis within months usually and fights anyone who tries to upset their money-making schemes!!!!!

Whatever her motivation, don't think her political "career" is over. Lots of politicians have been dead and buried before rising from the political dead, perhaps elected to an office, or appointed to office, or leading a "movement". So, right now it looks like real conservatives won't have Lizzy to kick around anymore. Meanwhile, she has a war chest with millions in it. That's called clout.

How many years ago did Michael Savage label liberals "red diaper doper babies" and "mentally ill"? Many of us agreed but didn't fully understand what he really meant by mentally ill. To me, anyway, it was just wrong thinking that could be changed if they only had the 'facts' which are clearly on our side. Well, from sad personal experience, I have learned that when facts bump up against emotion, feelings will always trump stinkin facts. Not to mention their attitude of moral superiority. They are incapable of facing reality.
