Elizabeth Andersen, a left-wing school board member in Duval County, Florida, used a racial slur to describe black conservative mothers who disagree with her agenda in a video conference with activists.
The county, which is consolidated with the city of Jacksonville, has school board elections on August 23 in which Andersen’s seat is being contested. The results will be decided that evening.
Andersen said, slamming the parents’ rights group Moms for Liberty, “So we have Quisha King – April Carney is my opponent – Tia Bess is another one that has a child with special needs and they often will sort of parade her out as a token person

Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer (CFO) of the Trump Organization, Donald Trump’s business empire, is expected to reach a plea deal with prosecutors in a tax fraud case that does not require him to testify against the former president.
Weisselberg and the Trump Organization pleaded not guilty last year when indicted by the Manhattan district attorney in a joint local and state investigation that accused them of not reporting tax liabilities for employee fringe benefits for several years.
The relatively minor allegations were anticlimactic, given the public determination of elected Democratic prosecutors to pursue Trump for whatever crime they could find. Trump himself was not accused of breaking the law,

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) compared herself to former President Abraham Lincoln during her concession speech shortly after her loss to Trump-backed Republican challenger Harriet Hageman.
Cheney claimed she lost her primary election only because she failed to “go along with President Trump’s lie about the 2020 election.”
“It would have required that I enable his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system and attack the foundations of our republic. That is a path I could not and would not take,” Cheney said.
Cheney said her opposition to former President Donald Trump was rooted in “the principles” that members of congress are sworn to protect

A new political ad from the conservative non-profit group Citizens for Sanity illustrated the insanity of men competing in women’s sports under the guise of transgenderism.
The ad features several girl athletes prepping for a big race at a track meet as a narrator expounds upon the intense training regimes they all follow to reach peak performance.
“She trains at 6 a.m. every morning,” the narrator says as the young women assemble on the starting line. “She spent years working to shave off seconds. She’s the captain of her school’s team.”
Just then, the camera cuts to a pair of hairy male legs lining up alongside the girls

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied allegations that the Department of Justice’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property was politicized. [Video]
The White House Press Secretary was out doing damage control on ABC’s This Week over the FBI raid of the Trump family home.
“[Biden] ran on not politicizing the DOJ — he has said that as president — but how concerned is he to see this investigation play out in the middle of a campaign, at least raising the appearance of a politicized Department of Justice?” asked Jon Karl, Chief Washington Correspondent for ABC News and co-anchor of This Week.
Jean-Pierre declared “this is not true”

As we’ve reported, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is in deep trouble in her primary on August 16. She’s 30 points behind her Trump-endorsed challenger, Harriet Hageman. She’s about to get wiped out by historic proportions, by all accounts.
But she does have some Democrats coming out trying to cover her action. She just got an endorsement that’s sure to put her over the top now — disgraced former Democratic senator Al Franken. [Tweet]
I’ll leave the door open to the possibility that this is an attempt at comedy since that’s what Franken is allegedly doing now, since the groping scandal and leaving the Senate.

Christina Pushaw, State of Florida
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s firebrand Press Secretary Christina Pushaw has resigned her position.
“It has been a great honor to serve the people of Florida under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis and his administration,” she said in her resignation letter to James Uthmeier, DeSantis’s chief of staff, and Dawn Hanson, director of administration. “This letter is to officially inform you that I am resigning from my position as Press Secretary for the Executive Office of the Governor, effective August 12, 2022.”
Pushaw has earned notoriety for being hard-hitting against the governor’s critics, particularly on social media, and debunking false narratives in the media,

Legal Twitter has weighed in on the warrant that triggered Monday’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago manse. The warrant was leaked to the media late Friday afternoon. The documents, which appear to be the warrant and the list of items taken from Trump’s home when FBI agents knew he wouldn’t be home, seem to confirm the worst fears of attorneys who thought the raid was a fishing expedition to find something on Trump. Indeed, the warrant is so overly broad, even to lefty attorneys, that it looks desperate.
The warrant demands that agents remove binders of photographs, documents with classification markings on them, and, the coups de grâce,

Back in April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sparked backlash amongst The Usual Suspects after announcing a new “charter bus” order where illegal immigrants who were dumped unannounced in already overwhelmed Texas towns thanks to President Joe Biden’s disastrous open border policies would be bussed to Washington, D.C.
“We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” Abbott stated at the time, not long after the CDC announced they would be sunsetting Title 42, a Trump-era policy implemented at the start of the pandemic

A reasonable question. Monday’s FBI raid at Trump’s Mar A Lago was very strange. Unlike previous FBI hits on people linked to Trump, such as Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, the establishment media was kept in the dark. They did not get a heads up. How did we learn about the raid? Trump announced it via his social media page around 1830 hours edt on Monday. Very strange.
Think about this. Not a single soul in the Trump universe who knew about the raid at Mar A Lago breathed a word about this unholy assault. Not one. And, surprisingly, the FBI kept its mouth shut.

If Donald Trump was going to run again, we assumed that the media would once again be the former president's largest pool of support, unwittingly, of course, with the nonstop negative coverage that would have only pushed more voters into his corner. Matt Taibbi noted that they're the "kingmakers of suck," arrogant, and more concerned with expounding on their moral superiority than covering the elections properly. Post-Russian collusion hoax, no one believes them, as evidenced by the appalling trust numbers the American public has given this industry over the past five or so years. That all ended last night.

Judge Bruce Reinhart, the federal magistrate who reportedly approved the FBI's search warrant to raid Mar-A-Lago, had already been noted for his previous "work" to help employees of Jeffrey Epstein secure immunity deals from the government...after leaving his post in the U.S. attorney's office where he was supposedly helping the government prosecute Epstein and his employees for alleged sex trafficking. What a guy.
But now another nugget of information has illuminated Reinhart's opinions about President Trump.
Thanks to some sleuthing by Florida's Voice, a Facebook account created in 2008 with the same name, linking to Reinhart's previous private law firm, and listing West Palm Beach as his home address was uncovered
