Albuquerque, N.M.—The fatal film-set shooting of a cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin last year was an accident, according to a determination made by New Mexico’s Office of the Medical Investigator following the completion of an autopsy and a review of law enforcement reports. The medical investigator’s report was made public Monday by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office along with numerous reports from the FBI on the revolver and ammunition that were collected following the shooting. Prosecutors have not yet decided if any charges will be filed in the case, saying they would review the latest reports and were awaiting cell phone data from Baldwin’s attorneys.

To quote Comey, the Great and Powerful,"...our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case...."

He PULLED the trigger, hard fact. Yes, should not have been any live ammo on set. But he was the idiot producer, forcing the armorer to do double duty and be in two places at once. He caused the unsafe situation due to cost cutting and arrogance, and stupidity.
And he pointed a gun, and pulled back the hammer and pulled the trigger.
His fault in about six different ways.

Medical Examiner only. Prosecutors (and FBI?) have yet to decide. Depends on how much Hollywood and Baldwin's $$$ has sway in Santa Fe.

He still pointed a loaded gun, shot and killed one, and wounded one. Accident? Okay…the facts remain.
Hopefully he feels guilty, and regretful the rest of his breathing days, but somehow I doubt it.

An accident caused by gross negligence by the person that pointed the loaded weapon and pulled the trigger.

The next time you wish to condemn Trump, Baldwin, recall that he never murdered anyone.

There is a cop in jail for an accident when she pulled her taser instead of her gun. This guy is a member of the party so he will walk.

He may get away without a criminal charge but civil suit will take him out.

First of all: Only an idiot would handle a real weapon without any training. Training would include being able to check to see if the gun was loaded.
Secondly, this was an authentic weapon which, like weapons of the time, was single action. Remember seeing the good guys firing fast with one hand fanning the hammer? Single action weapons have to be cocked to fire. Really cocking the hammer involves pulling the hammer back until it clicks in place and the trigger has to be pulled for it to snap forward. If the idiot pulled back the hammer but did not get it to click, and then released the hammer, the gun would go off without a trigger pull.
I have one of these weapons. The original design not only does not have a safety but was typically carried with the hammer over an empty chamber because they were notorious for going off, firing, when jarred sharply as in dropping the gun.
The official verdict should be gross stupidity and, yes, manslaughter.

I never thought it was anything other than an accident....an accident caused by a stupid, arrogant individual without a sliver of common sense about firearms. Whatever charges might be brought, Baldwin gets to live with this for the rest of his life. I realize someone like him will rationalize this in his own mind to defer blame but it will always haunt him.

A killing is still a killing veiled as an accident. Dangerously fooling around causing death was a plain stupid act. We'll never know what Balwin really did but he did kill someone that's a fact. Dropping a loading gun to the floor that discharges is an accident pointing a gun pulling the hammer back pulling the trigger I question that as to why? This shouldn't be the end to this forget the FBI involved.
