The Secret Service detail protecting Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has been spotted blocking access to handicap-designated parking outside a Whole Foods in Los Angeles. Emhoff was running errands on Wednesday in the Westside neighborhood of Brentwood when his two-vehicle motorcade blocked the accessible parking for about 20 minutes, a witness told DailyMail.com. As Emhoff did some shopping at Whole Foods, the two black Chevrolet Suburbans bearing Department of Homeland Security plates parked diagonally across a parking space designated for people with disabilities, photos of the incident show.(Snip)Harris has been outspoken in her advocacy for people with disabilities, a stance seemingly in contrast with the scene that unfolded

President Biden and his family, including disgraced first son Hunter, are spending their summer vacation at a $20 million beachfront mansion in South Carolina, The Post has learned—and they’re not paying a dime. The president recently asked prominent Democratic donor Maria Allwin—the widow of hedge fund founder James Allwin—if he could stay at her nine-bedroom Kiawah Island estate, a source close to the family told The Post. “They stayed here before and they’re not paying,” the source said. “They’ve never paid. They’re just friends.”(Snip)Maria Allwin has contributed to an array of mostly Democratic political campaigns, but her most recent donations are to Rep. Liz Cheney

Stabbings are on a rise in the Big Apple amid a citywide surge in major crime, according to the latest figures obtained by The Post.
The statistics, which cover the period through Aug. 7, show that stabbings have risen by 11% compared to the same span last year–from 2,465 to 2,756. Fatal stabbings have jumped a whopping 43%–from 48 to 69–during the same period, the data shows. “People aren’t afraid to carry guns, so obviously they are not worried [about carrying] knives,” a Manhattan cop told The Post. “Plus it is a lot easier to get a hold of a knife.”

China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, where the COVID-19 pandemic may have started, conducted work on a deadlier virus with a 60% lethality rate, according to recent Senate testimony. Steven Quay, a medical doctor, told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on emerging threats that the Wuhan institute carried out synthetic biology research on the Nipah virus genome in December 2019, around the time the first COVID-19 cases surfaced in Wuhan.(Snip)“Nipah is a BSL-4 level pathogen and a CDC-designated bioterrorism agent. This is the most dangerous gain-of-function research I have ever encountered. We should assume this research continues to this day

Three American oil scions have been bankrolling mobs of eco-zealots who have terrorized the world by slashing tires, blocking traffic and attacking firms. Aileen Getty, Rebecca Rockefeller Lambert and Peter Gill Case, who are heirs to their families' huge fortunes, are paying the salaries for thugs through their non-profits in an apparent bid to offset their relatives' legacies. Getty, whose grandfather created Getty Oil, has so far splashed out $1million through her California-based Climate Emergency Fund. Lambert and Case, who are both members of the Rockefeller dynasty that founded Standard Oil in 1870, have forked out $30million on The Equation Campaign.

Federal prosecutors this week announced the first indictment under a new law passed by Congress to crack down on gun trafficking in the wake of this spring’s shooting sprees. Said Isaac Hernandez, 25, was nabbed by police as he drove toward the border last month, and authorities say they found 17 pistols hidden inside a panel between the back seats of the Nissan Murano he was driving. Federal investigators said that when they confronted him, he admitted to carrying the weapons and planned to meet with people in Laredo, Texas, where he would turn the guns over to people who would take them into Mexico.

Drivers could face $9 to $23 in fees to drive into parts of Manhattan as soon as late 2023, according to the MTA’s congestion pricing plan that’ll be unveiled Wednesday. The amounts and timeline were detailed in a 34-page summary of the project’s much-delayed environmental review, which was provided to reporters by the cash-strapped agency Tuesday. “The tremendous detail included in this assessment makes clear the widespread benefits that would result from central business district tolling,” said MTA chief Janno Lieber in a statement. “Bottom line: this is good for the environment, good for public transit and good for New York and the region.”

Public health officials are grappling with how far to go in advising gay men to alter their sexual behavior as the monkeypox virus spreads mostly through their social networks but is a threat to anyone. The company which farmed out an ICU nurse with her own 'profound' mental health problems is refusing to comment on how she was vetted for the job, as she is charged with murdering six people in a horror car crash last week. Nicole Linton, 37, is in custody in California on six murder charges for killing a pregnant woman, her boyfriend, the woman's one-year-old son, a man and two other women on August 4.(Snip)Her motive remains unclear but her attorney told a judge yesterday she has a 'profound history' of mental health problems which should have stopped her from getting behind the wheel of a car
Comments:
Straw purchases are illegal already. Note that Eric Holder, Barack Obama, and any number of ATF agents did pretty much the same thing with their Fast and Furious program, leading to the deaths of several American and Mexican border patrol officers, yet not even Mr. Drain the Swamp bothered to press it.
