Justice Department should have subpoenaed
documents, not raided Trump’s home

The decision by the Justice Department to conduct a full-scale morning raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home does not seem justified, based on what we know as of now. If it is true that the basis of the raid was the former president’s alleged removal of classified material from the White House, that would constitute a double standard of justice.
There were no raids, for example, on the homes of Hillary Clinton or former Clinton administration national security adviser Sandy Berger for comparable allegations of mishandling official records in the recent past. Previous violations of the Presidential Records Act typically have been punished by administrative fines, not criminal prosecution.

Just remember in his rawest moments FJB is a bully. So when presented with the option of using the FBI/DOJ to look for documents he would want a spectacle.
Also, it is possible that the FBI took papers unrelated to the specific documents and will "salt" the seized documents with incriminating documents and claim Trump is guilty of whatever they want it to look like.

How can they say that Trump ran off with classified US Government documents when as US President, Trump was the ultimate authority as to what documents are deemed to be classified, and on his own had the authority to declassify any documents at the White House. So as a defense Trump could say that he had declassified all the documents that he removed from the White House to his personal residence, that has an approved secure location where those documents could be discussed, read, or stored. In addition Trump still maintains his presidential level security clearances.
Since the FBI raiding a former President’s home sets a huge precedent and was never before done in the history of the USA, you have to wonder who was the federal judge who signed such a search warrant?

If the FBI found nothing incriminating in their raid, when will they mention that to the American people? After the November 2022 elections? After the November 2024 elections?

Yes, they should have subpoenaed the documents, but what would have been the fun in that?

Al baby, have you not been paying attention ? J6 committee has found nothing because there is nothing to find. The left needed flashy headlines, fireworks , and so they did what they did. Remember lovely Liz Cheney said a few weeks ago that the committee would have something when the reconvened in the fall ? She knew about this. .

The judge who signed the warrant was not a federal judge, confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He was a magistrate who was associated with Jeffrey Epstein.
If Judicial Watch or Elon Musk ever succeeds in getting the Epstein client list, this judge's name is likely to be on it.

You can't plant "evidence" into subpoenaed documents.

question: Why...if the presidential records/archive office is in DC, FBI/DOJ is in DC, and they contemplate searching and seizing property from a former president in an unprecedented raid, why would they shop the warrant to a mere magistrate in Palm Beach? One who is a Obama/Biden donor to boot.
Who is the agent that called for this? Who signed off on it?
Why wasn't a Trump representative/lawyer called 1st to meet them, receive the warrant and make sure that ONLY the specific warrant listed item were touched, let alone removed..and all items seized inventoried at that time?.

This was a fishing expedition, Alan, they couldn't specify a document in a subpoena if they didn't know what was there.

Like my high school football coach said, it not what you coulda done or shoulda done. It's what you did. Dershowitz apparently recognizes what was done and has a conscience. And he's also a long time contributor to the decline we've seen over the years. Now, Alan, what are we going to do about it? Being upset is hardly enough.

were the agents cleared to possess classified documents at the required level? I doubt they have need to know? security violation.
I was once received a security violation for leaving a confidential padlock laying on my desk unlocked and unattended. I had relinquished the classified materials but had not returned the "locked" lock and key to the security dept.

My guess is that the FBI had orders to plant whatever evidence they needed to plant to damage his future election chances. Thanks to one of Trump's sons being there, the cameras were not turned off.

Regardless of the camera, how can you watch so many agents??? I would hope Trump has his home thoroughly scanned for bugs and searched for planted papers/data sticks/microdots because I can see the damned FBI coming back again for another search with no warrant and 'finding' something...the feebs and the liberals are so afraid Trump is going to run again and win, they are shi**ing their shorts...

Jose Bidet had been pressuring his AG to go after Trump... shades of Nixon... and so he did. None of it was done properly, nor in a manner befitting a former President of the United States, especially one who is still wildly popular. The vindictive pernicious Demons of DC, so blinded by their visceral hatred of Trump and his populist movement, that they would throw caution to the wind and call out the storm troopers to do their worst. Use of such extreme power brings consequence when it isn't used in a righteous manner... that consequence being "blowback" and the reaction will be swift and extreme. Nothing short of declaring Martial Law will save the Demonrats now.
