For liberal America, it’s time to pop open the champagne bottles. Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago this evening. Spencer wrote up the “siege” that’s taken place in Florida. FBI agents arrived unannounced and broke into the safe on the property. It was reportedly empty. The former president was not in the state; he’s in Trump Tower now. That’s another location that could be targeted within the coming days since it’s clear that the FBI has gone off the rails to prevent a duly elected president from running for office again.

On Thursday, Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder decided it was the time to bring the subtext of the Jan. 6 show trials and related domestic security state activities into the open.
“My guess is that by the end of this process, you’re going to see indictments involving high-level people in the White House, you’re going to see indictments against people outside the White House who were advising them with regard to the attempt to steal the election, and I think ultimately you’re probably going to see the president, former president of the United States indicted as well,” Holder told SiriusXM host Joe Madison.

Retired Green Beret Joe Kent defeated Republican Washington Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler in a primary challenge stemming from her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
With 92% of ballots counted, Democrat Marie Glusenkamp Perez received 31% support, Kent received 22.8% support, and Herrera Beutler received 22.3 %. Kent, Herrera Beutler’s chief GOP challenger, raised $2.25 million and was endorsed by Trump. Several election analysts called the race on Monday night. Washington’s universal vote-by-mail rules allow voters to submit ballots up through election day, meaning that the results of races are not often immediately clear.

President Joe Biden was noticeably disoriented Monday as he struggled to put his sport coat back on during a visit to Kentucky.
During the trip back to Washington DC, the president traveled aboard Marine One and exited the helicopter at the Lexington airport wearing a mask and his aviator sunglasses. The president paused after exiting to put his sports coat back on but fumbled for several seconds as he tried to get his arms into the sleeves. He finally turned to First Lady Jill Biden for assistance after his arms got tangled. The president, still wearing his mask, finally adjusted his coat successfully but then his aviator sunglasses fell off

“An attack on one is an attack on all.” That keystone of the NATO charter in Article V has served as a deterrent for a major European war for nearly 80 years. Could a similar pact serve as a deterrent for boycott attacks on conservative states?
Jonathan Turley looks at the political landscape, and especially the vapid boycotts imposed by equally vapid governors and legislatures on red states, and says it might work. This wouldn’t aim at private boycotts, but rather the state-to-state boycott actions championed by Democrat pols like Gavin Newsom and Stacey Abrams, about which Karen wrote earlier:

The way Democrats and the mainstream media talk incessantly about former President Donald Trump, one would think that it’s Trump and not Joe Biden who currently occupies the Oval Office. Indeed, even Biden himself can’t stop obsessing over Trump, bizarrely invoking him in recent comments he made about his recent bout with COVID. He also made sure that Democrats marked the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2020 Capitol riot complete with a speech in which Trump was the focus and where Biden proclaimed Trump was responsible for the breach of the U.S. Capitol, something he reiterated during a virtual White House event in July.

There was more news about what might be behind it, relating to classified material that Trump might have but if that’s the case, it makes it even more ridiculous as there would be other ways to proceed. Israel won a swift and decisive victory last weekend in a brief conflict with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), an Iranian-backed terrorist group based in the Gaza Strip.
The war began after Israel arrested a PIJ leader in the West Bank last week. Starting Friday afternoon, PIJ then launched about 1,000 rockets, many of which were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile shield. Some PIJ rockets actually killed Palestinian civilians in Gaza. TALLAHASSEE - Trulieve, the state's largest medical-marijuana operator, and country-music legends The Bellamy Brothers are backing a proposed constitutional amendment that would allow recreational use of marijuana by people 21 or older.
The proposed amendment was filed Monday at the state Division of Elections, with Tallahassee-based Trulieve contributing $5 million to the effort to get the measure on the 2024 ballot. Other multi-state medical marijuana operators also are expected to support the campaign.
Florida voters passed a constitutional amendment in 2016 to broadly legalize medical marijuana, and nearly 800,000 patients have been authorized for the treatment.
While past recreational-marijuana initiatives in the state have failed,

“They aren’t stopping you for speeding, are they?” My girlfriend Eileen was as confused as I was. It was 10 p.m. on a hot Charleston night. I was driving Eileen home after leaving my granddaddy’s house. When I turned onto Rivers Avenue, I saw the far-too-familiar flashing lights in my rearview mirror. My eyes flicked down to the odometer. Thirty-eight in a 35 zone. That can’t be the reason.
“Son,” the officer said, “do you know how fast you were going?” The officer’s hand never left his gun.
“Yes, sir.” I put on my most apologetic grin. “I think I was at 38. I know that’s a little fast,

The beauty of climate change, if you're a wannabe totalitarian, is that, because carbon is one of the building blocks of life, if you control carbon, you control everything. To understand how this works, you must pay attention to what is happening in the Netherlands, where the government is planning to seize 20% of livestock farms, all in the name of climate change.
Holland was once a bastion of liberty on a continent that was subject to total monarchal control and riven by religious wars. It wasn't freedom as we have come to understand it in America, but, after they threw off Spanish control, the Dutch allowed faiths

I’ll have a lot more to say about the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” in due course after I finish unpacking and catching up with five weeks of snail-mail and other things in the pile, but as an opening generalization it should be said that by passing massive subsidies for wind and solar power, the U.S. has decided to emulate Germany’s energiewende (“energy revolution”) policy that it adopted 20 years ago. It has been a total bust. Emissions reductions in Germany stalled out several years ago, and soaring energy prices (along with dependence on Russian natural gas) now threaten Germany’s entire industrial sector, not to mention a cold winter ahead

The great state of Indiana just took full advantage of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision and used its newfound power to set the rules regarding abortion to pass a near-total abortion ban for the state.
The near-total ban, which will take effect on September 15th, only makes exceptions for cases of rape, incest, lethal abnormalities in the fetus, or where the life of the mother is at risk for abortions. Those abortions stemming from cases of rape or incest must take place in the first ten weeks of the pregnancy, according to the bill.

A growing number of Democrats in Wyoming may be registering as Republicans in order to back Representative Liz Cheney in the state's upcoming primary, data suggests.
Cheney, the state's sole representative in the House, has been urging Democrats to switch parties to vote for her in the August 16 primary as she faces a tough re-election battle, with polling showing her trailing behind challenger Harriet Hageman, who has been endorsed by Donald Trump. Following months of Biden administration shuttle diplomacy, multi-national U.S.-bound immigrants from more than 150 countries are now finding international routes to the southern border faster, easier, and less obstructed than ever before.
Panama has dramatically shortened the notorious Darien Gap route from South America for the first time. Mexico has amended a years-old policy of using a national guard road blockade to slow U.S.-bound immigrants on its Guatemala border for one that now immediately hands out fast-pass visas straight to the American border.
Taken altogether, the new relative ease, safety, and swiftness of global journeys to the U.S. southern border should induce even greater numbers of foreign nationals

As of yesterday, the Inflation Reduction Act passed the Senate. In a 50-50 vote with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker, the Senate passed a massive spending bill under reconciliation rules. The bill will bring a ton of new deficit spending, create massive handouts for climate change initiatives, and add tens of thousands of new IRS agents to harass lower- and middle-class taxpayers. But, curiously enough, reporters and politicians praising the passage of the bill aren’t actually mentioning the name of the bill: The Inflation Reduction Act.

Inflation is skyrocketing. Gas prices, despite Old Joe Biden’s crowing about minor reductions, are still substantially higher than they were before his presidency was inflicted upon us. America’s global standing is drastically diminished by Biden’s handlers’ catastrophically botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, due to the lack of preparedness of a politicized military distracted by wokeism. The Southern border is essentially nonexistent, and due to that as well as to the arrival of tens of thousands of unvetted Afghan migrants, there is an unknowable number of criminals and terrorists in the country who would have been kept out by remotely sane immigration policies. Is nothing too gross for Trump-hating Democrats?
The latest stunt comes from Russian-hoax-writing Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter, Maggie Haberman, according to Axios biggie Mike Allen:
Remember our toilet scoop in Axios AM earlier this year? Maggie Haberman's forthcoming book about former President Trump will report that White House residence staff periodically found wads of paper clogging a toilet — and believed the former president, a notorious destroyer of Oval Office documents, was the flusher.
Why it matters: Destroying records that should be preserved is potentially illegal.

Even before he became president, the now-79-year-old Joe Biden faced serious and persistent questions about his mental health. Among average Americans, those questions have become a major issue, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The I&I/TIPP Poll, conducted online from Aug. 2-4 among 1,335 adults nationwide, shows that a 59% majority now say they are “very concerned” (36%) or “somewhat concerned” about Biden’s mental health.
That compares with just 39% saying they are “not very concerned” (18%) or “not at all concerned” (21%). Only 2% of respondents said they were “not sure.” The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points.

With inflation raging and the shadow of recession looming, it’s difficult to envision a worse time to pass a tax-and-spend bill like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Yet, that’s just what Senate Democrats did Sunday. It’s even harder to imagine that “moderate” Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), both of whom voted for the bill, believe it will live up to its Orwellian name. If so, they are at odds with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), hundreds of economists, millions of Americans, and even Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Democrats are riding high right now, at least in their own minds. On Sunday, the Senate passed the Manchin-led reconciliation deal, blowing hundreds of billions of dollars on “climate change” provisions, including subsidies for well-off people to buy electric cars and solar panels. The other part of the bill was a sizeable tax increase for the middle class. As to it being called the “Inflation Reduction Act,” even Bernie Sanders admits that’s hogwash. Still, Democrats rejoiced, citing it as a major accomplishment that will help lead them to victory in the mid-terms. Couple that with a recent uptick in the generic ballot for Joe Biden’s party, and you can see why

They'll never admit to it openly, but getting woke makes companies broke. Hollywood has been overtly progressive for decades, but this is nothing compared to the social justice invasion since 2016. After around five years of an unprecedented leftist onslaught on the entertainment industry we are finally starting to see the rampage lose oxygen. There's a weakness within woke productions that the alternative media has been pointing out for a long time – They don't make a profit because they are designed to appease a minority of leftist zennials that don't have any money. This is the wrong crowd to rely on for cash flow. It is fair to say that

President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats, with Republican help, are poised to spend $3.5 trillion during decades-high inflation.
“Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act will make Biden one of the most legislatively successful presidents of the modern era,” Politico Playbook writers Ryan Lizza and Eugene Daniels wrote. Although congressional Democrats have only a four-member majority in the House and a one-member majority in the Senate, Biden has been able to pass a substantial legislative agenda. It is also notable that Biden has spent so much during the first half of his term in office. This includes:
The $1.9 trillion American Recovery Act, Biden’s coronavirus relief billThe $550 billion so-called Infrastructure Investment and Jobs ActThe $280 billion
