Bruce Springsteen has been a wealthy man for a very long time. In 1973 he released his second album, The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle which featured the classic song, Rosalita. Toward the end of the song’s tale about budding romance and the reluctance of a young woman’s father to accept her suitor, Springsteen explains, “And the record company, Rosie, just gave me a big advance!” We bet they did Bruce.
Just two years later, Springsteen burst into superstardom in 1975 with his blockbuster album Born to Run, which resulted in him being one of the first entertainers ever to be featured on

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not have any apparent plans to visit the island democracy of Taiwan after Chinese diplomats threatened 'unbearable consequences' if she visited the self-ruled island under Chinese occupation.
In a press release on Sunday, her office said she would visit four Asian countries — but Taiwan was not on the list.
'Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading a Congressional delegation to the Indo-Pacific region, including visits to Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan,' the press release read.

The story about the Democrat who flipped off the Republican side during the Congressional Baseball Game keeps evolving.Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) previously released a statement on Friday, after she was criticized for flipping off the GOP dugout.
“The Congressional Baseball Game is one of my favorite events of the year. It’s a great cause and brings both sides of the aisle together for a night off from partisan politics. That is why it really struck a nerve when I heard an offensive and misogynistic

"I don't think I can keep traveling with the same rhythm I used to at my age and with the limitation of this knee," Pope Francis said to journalists during his return from Canada. Pope Francis is reflecting on his position as head of the Catholic Church.
After a six-day visit to Canada, the 85-year-old pontiff told journalists that he may one day step down from the Vatican's top job.
"It is not a catastrophe to change Pope, it is not a taboo," Francis told journalists on a flight to Rome the BBC reported.

Joe Manchin went to bat for his reconciliation bill Sunday by doing something called the 'full Ginsburg' – meaning he went on all five major networks' morning shows over the weekend.
The moderate Democratic senator from West Virginia appeared on CNN's State of the Union, Fox News Sunday, ABC's This Week program, CBS News' Face the Nation and NBC's Meet the Press. He is only the 31st major newsmaker to complete this feat.
The message was similar across the board – that the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will decrease inflation and not raise taxes on the average American household.

“Someone has been caused anxiety based on your social media post. And that is why you’re being arrested.”
This isn’t something from Orwell’s 1984 book.
This is real and it happened in the UK yesterday!
Yesterday, the UK’s Hampshire Constabulary sent five police officers to arrest a man in Aldershot for a Facebook post containing an image that made Progress Pride flags (flags that combine the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rainbow pride flag with a ...

President Biden tested positive for COVID-19 in a "rebound" case on Saturday, according to the White House.
"As described last week, acknowledging the potential for so-called ‘rebound’ COVID positivity observed in a small percentage of patients treated with PAXLOVID the President increased his testing cadence, both to protect people around him and to assure early detection of any return of viral replication," White House Doctor Dr. Kevin O'Connor said.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson got in on the Sesame Place shakedown over the alleged snubbing of black children by the park’s characters, calling for big changes in a letter to the company’s CEO including hiring more black executives, setting aside money for African American businesses and conducting cultural sensitivity training.
In his letter to CEO Marc Swanson of SeaWorld which is the parent company for the Philadelphia-based theme park, the 80-year-old civil rights activist, political gadfly and former Democrat presidential candidate criticized the company for not “providing solutions” to remove the stain of racism, providing a list of his own suggestions

It seemed obvious that Joe Biden’s selection of Kamala Harris as his running mate was a bad idea. Of all the Black Women™ he could have chosen, how he landed on her is a question for the ages. Unless, of course, someone figured they needed someone so awful that she would make Joe Biden look better by comparison.
I suppose that’s it.
The Biden-Harris White House has had over 30 senior staffers jump ship — many from Kamala’s office. The latest is Michael Collins, Harris’s director of public engagement; he follows senior aides Meghan Groob and Rohini Kosoglu, who departed a few weeks prior. Groob was Kamala’s director of speechwriting; it’s

Investigators searching for the Supreme Court leaker have "narrowed it down," but no names of suspects have emerged publicly almost three months after the reveal of a draft opinion indicating Roe v. Wade would soon be overturned.
Fox News anchor Shannon Bream appeared on air with colleague Jesse Watters to talk about her report Friday revealing that the list of suspects has been shortened, citing knowledgeable unnamed sources, as there is still no word from the Supreme Court on the investigation's progress.

President Barack Obama’s former campaign manager David Plouffe famously said of Donald Trump’s entry into politics: “It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”What was it that Washington DC and President Obama’s team feared so much about Donald J Trump?
The answer to that question is why the FBI, DOJ and CIA targeted Trump in 2016; and why they continued the targeting in 2017 with the Mueller investigation; (snip) why they still keep targeting Donald Trump with the J6 committee(snip)
Donald J Trump is the existential threat.
