Gun control lawmakers and activists now face a big problem as they pass dozens of new laws to substantially limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens – this new legislation will almost certainly be deemed unconstitutional.
That’s not my opinion. The Supreme Court made it clear in its recent pro–Second Amendment decision. In language that has drawn shockingly little attention, that ruling shows why many proposed gun restrictions infringe on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Before you can even begin a conversation about whether the proposed laws will have any meaningful effect on mass shootings (they won’t), you need to ask whether the gun restrictions are constitutional.

The gun control fanatics would shred the Constitution if they had a chance.

Gun rights are the only ones that have not been whittled down so as to mean nothing in recent decades. They have actually expanded a little. I'm sure that gives the communist/corruptocrat political class fits. They cant drop the final axe on us when we have an axe too.

Gun controllers could care less about the constitution. Gang-related shootings, mentally-disturbed shooters, criminal-related shootings, all in one way or another related to criminality or mental dysfunction, are simply unimportant to the gun controllers. INSTEAD they concentrate on law-abiding gun owners. What do they FEAR about law-abiding gun owners? Could it be that allowing the law-abiding to own guns risks armed protest when Progressives decide that it’s time to seriously and intentionally remove the freedoms American citizens enjoy by virtue of the BLOOD spilled that EARNED those freedoms? There will be serious risk to those who would deprive Americans of their RIGHTS … risk that the tyrants find wholly unacceptable.

The court''s 1778 decision refers to "marauding parties" in southeast New Jersey as creating dangers (and threats of dangers) that warranted individuals carrying firearms for personal - and group - self defense. The court's descriptions are far too reminisecent of currently existing dangers (and threats of dangers) from individuals - and gangs - in many parts of the United States, especially Portland, Chicago, and New York City.

The best way to show your rejection of fed control of firearms is to go out and buy another "assault weapon" and a large box of ammo to add to your cache. It will made their unconstitutional actions that much harder to implement and enforce. When the time comes they will be overwhelmed with numbers. Any law against gun violence should be directed against crazies who are potential human rights abusers and the building of new asylums.

The problem here is that the current “leadership” in DC has basically declared the Supreme Court null and void....these people will do whatever they want to whomever they want, whenever they want. 250 years of America have been flushed down the crapper in 18 months.

Federal Bills delving into Constitutional areas should be required to pass Supreme Court scrutiny BEFORE getting voted on and becoming law. Whenever Demonrats gain control of both Houses of the Legislature they pass anti-Second Amendment laws which then have to go through the "50-State Roundup" generating numerous lawsuits inching their way up to the U.S. Supreme Court. In my cynical mind I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't a "make-work mafia" at work in our Legislative Branch for the Lawyer Guild of America.
Also, where the hell is the NRA these days? We used to have ever present Wayne LaPierre out in the public fighting back on gun bills, but these days nary a peep from whoever's in charge.

SCOTUS needs to get rid of these laws, make it ILLEGAL to make more, and heavily penalize (20 years in PRISON) anyone making these laws for violating the mandate!

The new law that NY state just passed will be struck down at the first review, no doubt. And they will get all hysterical again.
Illinois was at least smart enough to recognize that they had LOST in court and would have to provide a reasonable, objective standards concealed carry permit system. And they did. Still a lot of restrictions in Illinois, but far better than it was.
NY has yet to realize that they WILL be required to comply with the 2nd Amendment, and that "Joe and Sally average citizens" WILL be able to get a permit and carry in most public venues. NY is still on a boat trip on DeNile.
