Elisjsha Dicken: Good Samaritan Named
in Greenwood Mall Shooting

Original Article

Elisjsha Dicken is being praised as a hero for stopping the mass shooter accused of gunning down three people and wounding two at Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana. The gunman, named by the county coroner as Jonathan Sapirman, was shot and killed at the scene by the Good Samaritan, as officials have dubbed Dicken, confirmed Mayor Mark W. Myers, who released a statement shared by police on Facebook. You can read more about Sapirman’s troubled background here.

Comments:

With a single handgun, legally carried, this young man took down what could have been a mass shooter, “within seconds” according to a witness. Police were engaged in assembling an “active shooter” response, setting up a command post, yada yada yada. That takes TIME. Meanwhile Dicken took care of the “active shooter” and saved untold numbers of lives. The current bureaucratic fingerpointing about Uvalde included the mention that it was critical to establish a command post. That takes TIME. All it would have taken would have been a very few brave souls with brains, guts and weapons.

According to the timeline given in the article, the criminal exited the mall restroom and began shooting at 5:56 PM, The good guy with a gun put a stop to him at 5:57 PM. Which means the good guy put an end to the incident before the police even had an opportunity to become aware of it.

Great summary, AdM…on top of that, no one saw the perp take his weapons into the restroom near the food court quite some time before he began shooting. But young Dicken saw him begin to shoot and took care of business. His marksmanship is being lauded. No military training. Just alert, smart, a great shot. Nice-looking guy.. too...

Heroes are where you find them. And some who have jobs where heroism is a necessary part of the job on rare occasions, don't actually have it in them....witness Uvalde. He is a real hero, and somebody taught him to shoot well, and apparently a bit of tactics. A really squared away young man. Gives one a bit of hope for the future. And scares the hell out of the antigun leftists who want this story to just go away as fast as possible. This is a very bad thing, but made far less bad by a good person who was willing to risk their life for others.

It will be interesting to see if the looney left crucifies Mr. Dicken, or if they quickly drop the story since it doesn’t fit The Narrative on guns. I hope he’s able to get on with his life, there’s no question he did the right thing, but shooting someone is still a heavy burden. Simon Properties should give him a reward, but they will probably ban him from their doomed malls for violating their worse-than-useless no gun policy.

I sincerely hope that this shooting doesn't mess with this young man's head and if it does he gets proper help. I know that if you carry a gun, you need to be prepared to kill someone, but that doesn't make it any easier. I have never killed a person, but being a farm wife, I have killed coyotes, skunks, etc. and yes it would bother me, but they were destroying my farm / animals.

Like most mass shooters, this vermin picked a "gun free" zone knowing he would have at least 10 minutes to kill at will before the cops could hope to arrive (or 1.5 hours if this were Uvalde). Thank God that Elisjsha Dicken chose to ignore the "gun free" signs and practiced his Constitutional right to bear arms!!!!! God knows how many lives he saved!!!!!

The young man is a true hero, but will now probably have anti-gun bigots picketing his house. He is really endangering their campaign to get rid of that pesky Constitution. Getting as many innocents shot is the key element in their campaign. I can't wait to hear whether the shopping mall management tries to explain why they are or are not going to try to get the hero punished for preventing their stupid policy from killing more people..... At least the local Mayor immediately publicly praised the hero, as did the police department spokesman.

The report I read said he “turned himself in” (I don’t like that phrase in this context) to mall security and told them he shot the guy. Good move, he was probably sitting in the security office by the time police got there, keeping himself safe. I’m in awe of his presence of mind at age 22.

Interesting spelling. Do any of our many experts on many things know if this spelling denotes a particular religious group or version of the Bible? Or is it just an "alternate spelling" of ElElisha, a Old Testament prophet? Elisha was known for being a prophet and "wonder-worker" who did super normal things. Perhaps the young man is living up to his name....if that is an alternate version of Elisha. Perhaps it is something else entirely, I don't know.

In my opinion, here is no comparison between this shooting in a wide open mall food court and the one in a single elementary school room. “Active shooter” tells police almost zero about the circumstances. Dicken was there, appropriately armed (he was able to get off 10 shots), was alert enough to see what was happening in plain sight, smart enough to know the shooter had to be stopped immediately,, and the courage, coolness and shooting ability to do just that.
