An alleged intruder is in critical condition after being shot by a 93-year-old Moreno Valley, California, homeowner early Wednesday morning.
FOX 11 notes that the incident occurred “in the 24300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue.”
ABC 7 reports that Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home to find the alleged intruder shot.
He was transported to a hospital.
Oscar Malma’s wife is related to the 93-year-old homeowner, and Malma told ABC 7 that the homeowner’s property has been the targeted by burglars/intruders numerous times.
Malma said of the homeowner, “He was tired because every time he calls the police, (they took) forever to come and assist him. He took the law into his own hands…

The Homeowner exercised his right to life and liberty of which the 2A protects.

Well done, but it appears that the intruder will be able to do future crimes. That's a disadvantage.
But, we "shoot to stop" in a purely legal sense, and once the threat is gone, we are legally and morally obligated to stop shooting. So, make those shots count.

The Homeowner was the true first responder and he acted appropriately. LEOs cannot protect they can only react. Unfortunately, Government agencies sell the opposite because of the tons of $$$ involved. Arm yourself. Get training. You are the first responder in a home emergency. Protect yourself and your loved ones. You'll thank yourself if you do.

Advice to all victims of intruders, do not give them the chance to kill you by waiting for the police to arrive. Shoot first and wait for the cops to do the paperwork, if they are still permitted to do that much.

I just purchased a new, cleverly designed holster. It can be won as a waist level holster or a shoulder holster, and all points in between.
And best of all, it will take any caliber pistol or revolver. And it looks like a cummerbund.
I'm old, but not unarmed.

Re#7: EXACTLY! You beat me to it. Not only did the homeowner exercise his Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms, but his GOD-GIVEN, natural right to defend his own life and property.
Re Original Poster: No, his aim was not "excellent". The gremlin yet lives. Unacceptable. Two in the chest, one in the head. Ferals should be put down with extreme prejudice. More time at the range is recommended. How does one get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice!

Riverside county prosecuter is tougher than in LA county. Riverside...homeowner is absolved. LA...homeowner is investigated by DA George Gascon.

It is often unwise to mess around with older people. They grew up in an America that was vastly different from today. And they may forget there are more "modern" standards of behavior they are supposed to uphold.
Nope. They'll just shoot you.

This man did not take the law into his own nhands, He protected himself and his property. I also say that as long as that person can move that person is a threat. keep shooting until he stops moving.

We have very little of this in Texas. Thieves don't wonder if there's a gun in the house. They know.
They also know that in Texas "gun control" means hitting what you shoot at.

I always tell people, " I'm too old to fight, too fat to run, so the only recourse for me is to shoot you if you break in or attack me or mine!"

#16, Texas does have a few cases. About 12 years ago, there was a serial rapist who broke into the homes of several old widow ladies, assaulted them and stole from them. One had a gun that had not been used in many years and she could not get it to fire, but she was determined enough to do so that it scared off the guy before he raped her. Rapist was finally caught in a small town when a victim used her Life Alert button and a cop happened to be almost in front of her house. The rapist would watch single ladies leaving rural churches on Sunday mornings and follow them home. I convinced several older women to get a firearm for protection. Shotgun, usually.

I am sick and tired of this "Alleged" Intruder crap.
What, is the news-writer afraid to say the perp WAS 'Intruding'?
Is there a question as to whether the Perp was intruding or not?
The writer did not say that the homeowner 'allegedly' shot him!

My lady students today were getting all hits in the A zone from 7 yards with their .38 revolvers. And they did a bit of shooting with some semi-autos, too.
They're basically capable now, we'll keep building on their skills for a few more weeks. But now, they are safe to defend themselves inside their homes. Just like this guy did.
