What did this guy have planned?
The FBI has released the affidavit filed in the case of Nicholas John Roske, who was arrested near the home of Supreme Court Justice Bret Kavanagh on Wednesday afternoon. The list of weapons and gear the suspect had on his person reads like something out of a horror movie. Roske, who told police that he planned to assassinate Kavanaugh, was arrested with a suitcase containing “a black tactical chest rig and tactical knife, a Glock 17 pistol with two magazines and ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch, crow bar, pistol light, duct tape, hiking boots

It’s probably not something you want to hear on a Thursday morning, but Procter & Gamble is blaming Amy Schumer for the national tampon shortage.
Didn’t know there was a national tampon shortage? Well, there is, among all the country’s other woes. Actually, the shortage of tampons might explain the country’s other woes.

A creepy T-Mobile employee stole nude photos of a young Queens woman when she went to the store to trade in her phone last September, a shocking new lawsuit alleges — as legal experts and advocates fear a rise in what’s been dubbed the modern-day “Peeping Tom.”
Karen Mun, 24, waited patiently as the employee at the Northern Boulevard store took her device to a closed back room to see if she was “eligible” for the trade-in, but when he emerged, her heart stopped after she caught a glimpse of his phone.

Amazon Go, the tech giant's cashierless store concept, is ready for its move to the suburbs.
The company is opening a new Go store in Mill Creek, Wash., on Tuesday morning, which it says will target customers living in suburban areas.
Like its other Go stores, customers won't need to visit a cash register when they're ready to check out. They grab what they need and leave.

QUILCENE, Wash. - Two Jefferson County fire departments rescued a California woman who became stuck in a vault toilet at the top of Mount Walker on Tuesday after falling in the toilet to retrieve her phone.
Mount Walker is located in Quilcene, Washington and is part of the Olympic National Forest.
The woman told rescuers that she dropped her cell phone down into the vault toilet while she was using it. She tried to take the toilet apart to get it, but when that didn't work, she said she used her dog's leash to try and fish it out.

Queen Elizabeth II has got her own Barbie in honor of her 96th birthday and upcoming Platinum Jubilee.
California-based toymaker Mattel released the doll on the monarch's birthday Thursday in commemoration of her 70 years of service, which will be celebrated beginning on June 2.
The doll is dressed in ivory complete with a blue sash and a tiara modelled on the one the Queen wore on her wedding day.
Queen Elizabeth II is marking her birthday privately, retreating to the Sandringham estate in eastern England that has offered the monarch and her late husband, Prince Philip, a refuge from the affairs of state.

Will we ever have a time in politics where we won’t have Nancy Pelosi to kick around anymore, to paraphrase Richard Nixon? According to a new book from New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns, that time may come sooner than you think, but not necessarily for the reasons you’d assume. Punchbowl offers a big preview of This Will Not Pass, due out on May 3, and of Pelosi’s disgust with her caucus and the White House.

ATLANTA (AP) — When Democrat Stacey Abrams first ran for Georgia governor in 2018, her lackluster personal finances and a hefty bill from the IRS gave Republicans fodder to question how she could manage a state budget when she struggled with her own debts.
As she launches a second bid this year, that’s no longer an issue. Abrams now says she’s worth $3.17 million, according to state disclosures filed in March. That’s compared with a net worth of $109,000 when she first ran four years ago.

The Academy has apparently made an oh-so-pretty baffling decision: not inviting the star of West Side Story to the Oscars.
Rachel Zegler, who plays Maria in the Oscar-nominated West Side Story, revealed on Instagram she hasn't been invited to next week's awards ceremony. When a commenter said they were looking forward to seeing what Zegler wears on Oscar night, she replied, "I'm not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend's flannel."

AS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas police officer who was arrested last month for attempting to rob a casino on The Strip has been charged this week in federal court in connection with two other casino robberies, U.S. prosecutors said.
The federal criminal complaint filed Friday accuses Caleb Rogers, 33, of arming himself in three heists dating back to November with the same .357-caliber service revolver that belonged to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.

Zi Faámelu was born and raised in Crimea, an area of Ukraine that was invaded and taken over by Russia in 2014. Now the 31-year-old lives in Kyiv, the capital city that has been under Russian siege for nearly a week. She is running out of food and hasn't left her house for days as gunfire erupts outside.
And she says she can't leave.
Faámelu, who is transgender, said that transphobia is pervasive in the city and neighboring countries, and fears that if she leaves, the tension of the ongoing conflict will make her more susceptible to violence.
