A group of millionaires have joined protests against the World Economic Forum gathering of the business and political elite in Davos, Switzerland, demanding that governments “tax us now” to tackle the burgeoning gulf between rich and poor. The unlikely protesters, who describe themselves as “patriotic millionaires”, called on world leaders attending the annual conference on Sunday to immediately introduce fresh taxes on the wealthy in order to tackle the “cost of living scandal playing out in multiple nations around the world”. The charity Oxfam recently said rising inequality could push as many as 263 million more people into extreme poverty in 2022, reversing decades of progress.

Look no farther than the "war on poverty" to see what will happen if you just throw more money at the problem.

Protestors, you will be glad to learn that you can gift as much as you want to the government. No need for the government to raise your taxes.

The posters are into it.
So, folks are protesting themselves for not paying enough? They should just punch themselves in the face. That will show themselves they are serious!

Newsflash!!
Those with money to burn are not required
to wait for new taxes. Instructions follow:
Write a big check, place it in an envelope, address to IRS,
apply appropriate postage, drop in mail box. Problem solved. See how simple that was?

From the article they all appear to be Europeans. They surrendered their souls decades ago when the EU formed.

They're free to pay as much as they want without any government demanding it. That would make the world think MORE of you for being generous, so just do that and leave the rest of us in peace.

I propose that every government add a line to their tax form something like this:
"Voluntary Tax Payment In Excess of Amount Due" and allow the taxpayer to enter the amount he/she/indertminate pronoun choice wishes to give to the government.
I expect that it will be rarely used.

A tax is just a mandatory minimum...
they are all free to give as much money to a Govt as they please. Any Govt that they assume is the best way to help other people, the fact that nearly all of them "Donate" money to places other than Govts indicates that not even THEY think Govt is the best avenue to help others.
Proper response is..."Ok we will take it ALL, make you as poor the the bottom tier of society, thanks...best of luck in your future."
Wait Wait I didn't mean THAT!
"Too late, done deal...we have taken every asset except the car you let your maid drive on grocery day, Now Get Out!"

Bunch of exhibitionist "empty VIRTUE SIGNALLERS"'. Any millionaire or billionaire and for that matter, ANYONE who wants to give his fortune away for the sake of ".. tackl(ing) the burgeoning gulf between rich and poor" and “the cost of living scandal playing out in multiple nations around the world” can do so by signing checks to their own government's "foreign aid fund", directly to the treasuries of foreign governments of their choice, or to pletohra of NGO's and private charitable institutions dedicated to assist "the poor people ' of the world. What happens to all those funds after it leaves their pocket is anyone's guess but you can be sure that a substantial portion will dissappear in ADMINISTRATION and other "Enabling expenses" before it reaches the ones that need it.

Stop virtue signaling and cut your check for all those meaningful, efficient and successful government programs now. You don't need government to raise taxes to do this.

These dweebs were raised on the concept of Star Trek's Federation, where there is no financial system, and everyone has everything they need, and are allowed to follow whatever path they desire.

Oh fer Chrissake. Jean-Francois Kerry must have put them up to this.
I’m beginning to think we wasted a lot of blood and treasure saving these morons from the Nazis and the Communists. The Euroweenies embraced all that nonsense anyway.

Such theatre! Such preening peacocks! Who do they think they are fooling? If they want to pay more, they can do it. They don’t need to wait to be taxed.

Isolating people and taking away jobs while destroying small business with these pandemics and wars and crisis isn't helping the little guy who suffers. Meanwhile the globalist fly around in their luxurious jets to go to Feel Good" meetings to make us think they care about anyone but their self-indulgent selves while plotting on what the next step will be to control our lives.

No one is stopping those millionaires from giving however much of thir money to their governments that they want.
But what they REALLY want is for everyone else to be taxed to death, while their own lawyers, accountants and Foundations make it so that they don't pay any taxes.

There is nothing to keep them from contributing their money to the government, regardless of taxation. They will remain rich, while the rest of us suffer.

A fresh helping of hot garbage. There is nothing whatsoever standing in the way of anyone divesting themselves of everything they own and handing it to the government of their choice, which will squander every bit of it in short order and then come asking for more.
