San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone announced Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is barred from receiving Holy Communion due to her pro-abortion stance -- marking an escalation in a decades-long tension between the Roman Catholic Church and liberal Democratic politicians on abortion. Cordileone has written to the California Democrat, informing her that she should not present herself for Holy Communion at Mass, and that priests will not distribute communion to her if she does present herself.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams is eyeing up a 2024 White House bid as an anti-woke Democrat if Joe Biden decides not to run for a second term, it is claimed. Adams, 61,-who once referred to himself as the 'Biden of Brooklyn'-has 'repeatedly' told confidantes that he is considering running for the highest office and thinks he could 'win,' sources told the New York Post. 'Eric has told me repeatedly that he thinks that he has a platform to run for national office, for president in 2024,' a source close to the mayor told the Post.(Snip)However, Adam's advisor Evan Thies dismissed rumors,

On Thursday – just hours after approving another $40 billion in US taxpayer dollars for Ukraine – the US Senate blocked a bipartisan $48 billion aid package for restaurants, gyms, and other small businesses that have been struggling in Biden’s post-lockdown economy.
Presumably, they can’t launder that money as easily as shuffling it off to Ukraine, so American business owners get the shaft yet again from its traitorous elected officials.
In other words, just another day in the DC Swamp…Needing 60 votes to move forward, the Senators killed the package with a 52-43 vote. Five Senators refrained from casting a vote at all

California energy officials issued a sobering warning this month, telling residents to brace for potential blackouts as the state’s energy grid faces capacity constraints heading into the summer months. And since the state has committed to phase out all new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 — well ahead of federal targets — the additional load from electric vehicle (EV) charging could add more strain to the electric grid. “Let’s say we were to have a substantial number of [electric] vehicles charging at home as everybody dreams,” Ram Rajagopal, an associate professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, who authored

Hillary Clinton approved an effort to leak allegations that Donald Trump was colluding with Russia via Alfa Bank, according to her 2016 presidential campaign manager, Robby Mook, who testified Friday in federal court in Washington, DC.
The Alfa Bank allegations were later disproven, as was the broader “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory that they supported. (snip)
As the New York Post notes, Mook also discussed the Alfa Bank allegations with Clinton aide Jake Sullivan. Sullivan played a key role in misleading reporters and Congress about “Russia collusion,” telling the House Intelligence Committee in 2017 that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had colluded with Russia. Sullivan now has Flynn’s former position.

The Biden administration is making $500 million available to school districts to transition the nation’s gas-guzzling diesel school bus fleets to zero-emission electric busses. The bucket of money is part of a broader tranche of $5 billion set aside in last year’s infrastructure spending for low and zero-emission school buses over the next five years.(Snip)They will highlight how the switch to electric buses will not only significantly slash greenhouse gas emissions, but how it will also cut down on public health risks that diesel vehicles pose to children, such as causing asthma.

President Joe Biden will reunite with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol Saturday in Seoul for a packed day of diplomacy with the country's new leader, whose only been in office for 11 days.
As the specter of a North Korean missile or nuclear test hangs over the trip, the White House indicated Saturday morning a new openness to provide North Korea with coronavirus aid despite the threats.
'I think that we are very concerned about the COVID situation in the [Democratic People's Republic of Korea]. We are very sensitive to the fact that they appear to be facing a quite serious situation and I think you've seen we stand

A leading figure in the Biden administration has backed a recovery programme for Ukraine in the style of the Marshall plan, which helped rebuild Europe after the second world war. Pete Buttigieg, the US transportation secretary, said there was plenty of political will at home and internationally towards cooperating in long-term reconstruction efforts including to buttress existing infrastructure in Ukraine. “With the memory of the Marshall plan in mind, what we’re talking about is not only about how we fund immediate needs and support their ability to maintain the war effort, but how we support the ability of Ukraine to be economically viable and generate a sustainable future for themselves

The Biden administration privately acknowledged late last month that a mathematical error is delaying the federal government’s offshore oil and gas program.
In an April 29 letter to industry leaders obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that a subagency “discovered a miscalculation” that has caused a massive backlog in permitting.
Richard Spinrad acknowledged in his letter that the National Marine Fisheries Service—the subagency tasked with analyzing the impact of offshore drilling projects on wildlife—has used faulty computer modeling on such impacts. As a result, Spinrad wrote, the subagency overestimated wildlife effects, delaying permitting on existing leases.

An NYC patient has tested positive for the same genus virus as monkeypox sparking calls from the health department for residents to wear masks indoors—just as New Yorkers were finally returning to mask-free normalcy after COVID-19. The CDC is still waiting for confirmation that it is monkeypox, after the patient tested positive for orthopoxvirus—the genus of viruses that includes smallpox, cowpox, horsepox, camelpox, and monkeypox. City officials say a second possible monkeypox patient tested negative for the virus.
The health department is encouraging New Yorkers to wear face masks to protect against the new virus outbreak, as well as COVID-19 and the flu.

Former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he is running for Congress in the upcoming midterm elections in November, in New York’s tenth congressional district.
De Blasio make the announcement during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday. It comes merely 48 hours after de Blasio announced via Twitter that he was forming an exploratory committee to raise money for a potential bid. The committee was legally turned into a formal campaign on Friday.
In announcing his candidacy, de Blasio told host Joe Scarborough that “people are hurting, they need help, they need help fast,” and that “they need leaders that can actually get them help now.”
