I haven’t previously written Taylor Lorenz’s doxxing of Libs of TikTok, the popular Twitter account that simply reposts videos from wild-eyed leftists talking about grooming children and the like. That’s not for any particular reason except that other RedState writers covered it thoroughly, but her appearance on CNN on Sunday morning offers the perfect chance to share my thoughts. While speaking with Brian Stelter, Lorenz managed to make her actions even worse, pointedly lying about what she did, and then suggesting Libs of TikTok (I’m not going to use her real name) could have been a foreign agent. Funny how the people comfortable attacking private businesses hate when DeSantis uses their playbook. The current issue du semaine involves the state of Florida passing legislation to strip the Walt Disney Company of the special governmental set-asides it has enjoyed for generations. There are valid positions to be made on both sides of this issue. Initially, I have some reservations about this; it is not an automatic comfort with the direct action being taken in this kind of swift manner, but the more I reflect on the matter, it seems to be a case approaching inevitability. On the left, we see many taking the side that this is a direct violation of free speech

A wave election is on the horizon and the only question is just how strong of a wave it will be. Will it be a traditional kind of victory for Republicans as the minority party typically picks up seats in midterm elections? Or will it be a red tsunami brought about because of deep disapproval of the Biden administration? Either outcome will result in Republicans taking back control of the House and very well may flip the Senate, too. The White House is girding its loins in preparation of the consequences GOP victories will bring. A top concern for the White House is the new investigations that will be opened up.

While favorability ratings, head-to-head projections, and various other projection tools are of course based on currently available sentiment and data, and numbers can change in a political heartbeat as situations or future developments warrant, Trump bests Biden in virtually every poll and survey. But perhaps, just perhaps, the truth lies somewhere between putting her on a pedestal and calling for the padded wagon. An illustration is a Twitter thread she posted the other day. Afew decades ago, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) robots, DNA sequencers, and high-speed computers fostered and accompanied quite a scientific revolution in virology. Acknowledging this radical change, some illustrious scholars alerted their scientific community on a hazardous drift away from investigating the viral ecology, pathogenesis, and disease potential, along with viral identification by testing. “In summary”, wrote Calisher and al. (2001), remarkable advances in molecular genetics have allowed rapid and precise identifications of viruses and of their genomes; however, such characterizations thus far can provide only limited information about the phenotype and disease potential of a virus.

Progressive Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tore into House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy on Sunday, branding the lawmaker a 'liar and a traitor' after explosive leaked audio revealed he wanted Donald Trump to resign after the Capitol riot. McCarthy has been under fire from both sides of the aisle since a recently-revealed private phone call days after the January 6th insurrection showed the true depth of his fury at the ex-president -- only for him to fly to Florida for an audience with Trump in a show of support just days later.'Kevin McCarthy is a liar and a traitor. Musk is famed for his enigmatic messages on Twitter, which he often uses to attack people, post insults or simply make jokes. The exact meaning of the latest cryptic message was unclear, as it simply said: “Moving on …”. But the post was made after a dramatic week where Musk, the richest man in the world, secured $46.5bn in financing to fund a possible hostile bid for Twitter, including $21bn of his own money.

In this installment of their weekly Sunday Six conversation, PF Whalen and Parker Beauregard of The Blue State Conservative discuss the six most impressive moves by our favorite governor, Ron DeSantis. PF: #6: Signs bill in November banning vaccine mandates in the state, and holds the signing ceremony in Brandon, Florida. PF: Full disclosure, I’m a huge fan of Ron DeSantis, and have been since the very early stages of his 2018 gubernatorial campaign against Andrew Gillum. He was bold from the beginning, and extremely impressive. But of everything DeSantis has done as governor, this might be my favorite, simply because of the symbolism.

The breakdown of civil society continues. Over the last several years, we’ve seen mass riots, increased violence on airplanes, soaring murder rates, a rise in road rage incidents, and more. The latest: New York Yankees fans Saturday pelted Cleveland Guardians players with trash and empty beer cans at the tail end of a routine and frankly unimportant game in New York. While the violence didn’t approach the level of 2004’s Detroit’s infamous Malice in the Palace, it was still pretty ugly. According to the NY Post: In an extraordinary scene, Gleyber Torres’ walk-off single was immediately overshadowed by altercations in the outfield

The headlines I’ve seen tell me that it’s incredibly sordid (snip) it seems worthwhile pointing out that Hollywood is a deeply dysfunctional place that has way too much sway over our culture and, worse, over our children. (snip) poor Depp is also the perfect star stereotype: Horrible childhood, limited education, substance abuse, and sexually perverse relationships. On-screen, he’s in control, even if his character is not; off-screen, he married a woman who was famously crazy and vicious and then suffered horribly at her hands because he’s weak and lacks internal resources.

With the cost of energy skyrocketing and record-breaking inflation, the Biden administration came out last month and warned the public about “food shortages” hitting the US. Naturally, like with the ‘Putin price hike’, fingers were pointed at the war in Ukraine for causing the shortages. The separation of children at the border has been going on for years. Heck, it happened throughout Obama’s presidency, and no one cared. The 2008 law dictating the separation of adults and children at the border was designed to prevent sex trafficking of minors, but that was suddenly a bad thing once Trump took office. And guess what? It also stopped being a bad thing once Joe Biden took office. According to a report from the New York Times, Ukrainian children are being “separated from relatives, friends or older siblings with whom they have traveled to the southern border.” Yet there’s no outrage from Democrats about how evil the Biden administration is.
