Jen Psaki isn’t long for her job at the White House.
Having reportedly accepted a job with MSNBC that will include a primetime show, Biden’s press secretary will make one of the easiest transitions in politics. There is essentially no daylight between being a liberal cable news host and an official for a Democrat administration. That’s a dynamic that never ceases to amaze, given how loudly liberals complain when Republicans end up on Fox News, but I digress.
Psaki has been on a media tour of sorts the last few weeks, and as RedState reported, things got really awkward when she was asked about Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law.

Germany announced Wednesday that it plans to end oil imports from Russia by the end of the year and will then begin phasing out Russian gas imports, charting a path to energy independence from Moscow amid its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
“I therefore say here clearly and unequivocally yes, Germany is also completely phasing out Russian energy imports,” German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said after a meeting with representatives from the Baltic states Wednesday.
“We will halve oil by the summer and will be at zero by the end of the year, and then gas will follow, in a joint European roadmap, because our joint exit, the complete exit

Two election handicappers are collectively moving more than a dozen House races in the GOP’s favor, in the latest sign that Democrats are facing an increasingly bleak outlook in their bid to maintain control of the lower chamber in November’s midterms.
The Cook Political Report shifted eight House races in districts stretching from New York to Nevada toward Republicans on Wednesday.
The changes include moving three previously “likely” Democratic districts — Indiana’s 1st, New York’s 19th and North Carolina’s 1st — into “lean” Democratic territory. Meanwhile, three districts that previously leaned toward Democrats

After clearing the battlefield on a variety of other issues, Gov. Ron DeSantis has opened up a new front in the war on the left. This time, the Florida legislature, via a special session DeSantis called, is working to remove a 50-year-old special exemption from The Walt Disney Company.
That comes amid a cultural battle in which Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, which bars the teaching of sexuality and gender “theory” to K-3rd graders, has been maligned as a “Don’t Say Gay” bill. After immense pressure from mostly out-of-state forces, Disney bent the knee and has now gone fully woke in regards to harmful ideological grooming of children.

This week, a federal judge in Florida finally struck down a federal mask mandate from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An extensive number of executive branch agencies have acted in an authoritarian manner throughout the COVID-19 era: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration infamously attempted to cram down a vaccine mandate on every private employer in America, a policy struck down by the Supreme Court; the CDC blocked evictions for over a year based on the premise that millions would be thrown from their homes if they didn’t take action. But the CDC’s travel mask mandate has been particularly annoying

Shares of Netflix plunged 37% Wednesday morning after the streamer reported earnings Tuesday evening that showed it lost subscribers for the first time in more than ten years. The results and weak outlook led to a wave of downgrades from Wall Street over fears of the company's long-term growth potential.
Netflix said several headwinds are impacting growth, including competition and the easing pandemic restrictions. The company had been significantly boosted by coronavirus stay-at-home orders, as more people sought out digital entertainment. But people spent less time on digital platforms as vaccines rolled out and mandates eased.
Slower household broadband growth also played a role in the company's weak forecast.

Twitter and Facebook worked in lockstep to restrict the flow of the Hunter Biden laptop story just before the 2020 presidential election. These platforms stifled the spread of that story at the same time that Big Media did, as MRC research found.
Facebook’s suppression broke the platform’s own fact-checking policy, and Twitter’s attempt to cancel the story so outrageously violated content moderation norms that it drew criticism from the likes of leftist Poynter Institute fact-checkers. Even then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey criticized his platform after the fact. Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone announced the platform had preempted third-party fact-checks

Tuesday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) warned against the Biden administration’s efforts to undermine parental rights and interfere with the values parents were trying to instill in their children.
Gabbard called it “a dangerous thing” and said unelected bureaucrats were threatening the relationship between parents and their children. “I think anything that gets in the way of parents who love their kids, who want what’s best for their kids, the government getting in the way of they being able to raise their children and impart their values on them is not going to help people electorally, but it is also just further undermining

The Washington Post attacked Libs of TikTok (“LOTT”), not because it wants to debate the merits of the leftist-made videos the Twitter account exposes to a wider audience, but because it wants to silence anonytmous woman who runs it. Ironically, in a new form of the Streisand effect, the Washington Post seems to have exposed LOTT’s material to literally hundreds of thousands more people.
The current saga of LOTT can be summed up quickly.
LOTT locates videos that leftists voluntarily place on social media about race, gender, and other forms of wokism and then republishes the same material on the LOTT account. I’ve been following the account for months now,

Riverside County, California - President Joe Biden is considering backing down on plans to end the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Title 42 — the public health authority that has doubled as a border control measure — as Republican lawmakers head to the United States-Mexico border to sound the alarm on illegal immigration.
On Tuesday, a source told Axios that Biden and his top agency officials are considering not following through on their current plans to end the use of Title 42 on May 23 — a move that they admit could bring a wave of illegal immigration never seen before in American history.

Many readers will recall that Fox News host Tucker Carlson was on the receiving end of some especially juvenile Mean Girl-style tweeting and “reporting” from supposed “journalists” and media hall monitors back in March 2021 when he had the nerve to call out “technology reporter” Taylor Lorenz, who back then worked for the New York Times, over her trying to have it both ways on the issue of online harassment of social media users, which apparently is Lorenz’s job.
In response to Carlson laying out inconvenient facts, the Usual Suspects including the NYT jumped into action at the time by accusing him of “misogyny”

Did a crack just appear in Vladimir Putin’s domestic standing? One oligarch with his Instagram access still in place blasted Putin’s invasion as a “crazy war,” and refuted the widespread reporting that Russians supported it. Oleg Tinkov, who founded the second-largest credit-card company in Russia, declared that 90% of the country opposed the war — and that Putin knows it:
Wealthy Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov on Tuesday condemned what he called Moscow’s “crazy war” in Ukraine, saying 90% of his countrymen did not support it and calling on the West to offer Vladimir Putin a dignified way to withdraw.
