Barack Obama Comes Out Against the First Amendment

Original Article

Posted By: Hazymac, 4/11/2022 12:00:19 PM

One would think that a former president of the United States would be a staunch defender of the First Amendment. When it comes to Barack Obama, however, you’d think wrong. Obama spoke Wednesday at an event sponsored by The Atlantic and the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy.” In the course of a long and rambling discussion with The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, Obama called for government control over the Internet in order to stem the “demand for crazy” that was spreading what he called “disinformation.”

Comments:

There's nothing operationally American or little-d Democrat about Obama. He's a straightforward totalitarian who hates America and its Constitution.

Yours was my very first thought as I got into this article, OP. Spencer and others must stop giving the Kenyan the gloss of assumed patriotic feeling for America that other former Presidents have!!! There was and is nothing American about BO.

It seems the word disinformation is now considered anything said by the opposing view point, or political party, not actual disinformation (aka Propaganda). I believe it was considered disinformation against anyone saying the Whitmer incident was an FBI plot, or an entrapment case. It was considered disinformation that there was widespread voter fraud, which eliminates any discussion about non-widespread voter fraud. It was disinformation that the Hillary campaign was behind the Steele Dossier, yet now both the Clinton campaign and the DNC have paid fines related to the false dossier.

Disinformation is best addressed with valid information, supported by verifiable facts and sound logical arguments. Censorship of contrary information is never the right thing to do. I say I can be convinced but I cannot be told. Obama wants to tell people but is unwilling to offer a convincing reason to believe what he says. Opinions differ but are not a valid basis for censoring valid information.

Crackpot remarks and trash talk sinks of its own weight. Obama, and the Leftists want to pick their Narrative in order to further The Agenda and shut down any discussion outside their purview.

Jennifer Rubin, the never-Trump columnist at the Washington Post, has announced that she is leaving the paper and blasted WaPo owner Jeff Bezos on her way out the door. The now-struggling paper has just gone through a round of layoffs. Rubin recently took a shot at the paper while also trashing Trump and Trump supporters during one of her typically unhinged rants. A suspect seen starting fires with a blow torch in a Los Angeles neighborhood Thursday afternoon is not being charged with arson because a police investigation found “no probable cause.” The man is still being detained on a felony probation violation amid the ongoing investigation, Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Dominic Choi said in a press conference Friday. The arrest comes amid growing speculation that at least some of the LA fires were started by arsonists. The suspect was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of arson near the Kenneth fire, a wildfire that started at about 2:30, Thursday afternoon. The suspect, believed to be a homeless man, had reportedly been

I was surprised, if not shocked, when two A-list celebrities, country singers Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood, took the microphones at the State Funeral for Jimmy Carter yesterday and began performing “Imagine,” written by former Beatle John Lennon in 1971. The song is widely described as an “atheistic anthem” and incredibly is said to be one of the late 39th president’s favorite songs. "Imagine there’s no heaven It’s easy if you try. No hell below us Above us, only sky. . . Imagine all the people Livin’ for today Ah Imagine there’s no countries It isn’t hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too" To me, it sounds like a globalist woke anthem

The New York Times published an op-ed Friday that proposes eliminating belief in God — as one of the holiest weekends of the year begins. Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article claims that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people stop teaching children about Him. Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis): God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle.
