We’ve been talking about a likely red wave coming in the midterms, and now Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is not holding back on what he thinks is going to happen in November.
On this week’s “Fox News Sunday,” McConnell said that he thought Republicans were going to take back both the House and the Senate because of how horrible Joe Biden has been on things like the economy and Afghanistan.
“[Biden’s] policies have not worked, beginning with the precipitous and ill-advised withdrawal from Afghanistan, which became kind of a metaphor for the incompetence

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday appeared to throw in the towel on more government restrictions over COVID-19 — insisting it’s now up to Americans to make their own medical risk assessments.“This is not going to be eradicated, and it’s not going to be eliminated,” Fauci told ABC’s “This Week.” “And what’s going to happen is that we’re going to see that each individual is going to have to make their calculation of the amount of risk that they want to take.”The White House chief medical adviser said Americans will have to consider factors such as their age, vaccination status and whether they live with vulnerable individuals when it comes to

The only thing that Rory McIlroy didn't throw at Scottie Scheffler on an unforgettable final day at the 86th Masters was the kitchen sink - and still it wasn't enough.McIlroy at his most magnificent chipped in twice and holed an outrageous bunker shot at the 18th on his way to a 64 to equal the lowest final round in Masters history. The Northern Irishman hasn't known such joy at a major since his last victory in 2014, as he threw his arms into the air and his club into the bunker.'That's the happiest I've ever been on a golf course,'

A radical environmental group raised a few eyebrows on Twitter after encouraging people to let the tires out of SUVs in an apparent bid to combat climate change. The group, Adbusters, tweeted step-by-step instructions for the provocation on Wednesday, calling it a "gentle escalation" or ramping up the urgency about climate change. (Tweet) "Wedge gravel in the tire valves, leaflet the SUV to let them know the tires are flat and why it was done, and walk away. It’s that simple," the group tweeted. "If we organize, we can hit enough SUVs in particular neighborhoods to spark reporting and spread

A top House Republican thinks "something is up" as the federal investigation into Hunter Biden and his financial practices heats up. Rep. He pointed to an upswell in reporting on the authentication of contents on a laptop believed to have belonged to Hunter Biden, coinciding with a wave of grand jury activity.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Scottie Scheffler has lived up to the hype at Augusta National.
The world's top-ranked player captured his first major championship with a three-stroke victory at the Masters.
Scheffler came into the day with a three-shot lead, and he made sure it held up by closing with a 1-under 71. He finished at 10-under 278 overall, winning for the fourth time in his last six tournaments.
Scheffler four-putted for a double-bogey at the final hole, but he had such a comfortable lead it didn't matter.
Rory McIlroy was the runner-up after shooting 64, but he came into the day 10 strokes behind and was never a serious challenger to Scheffler.

Things aren’t going great for Team Biden or for Biden himself; turns out, being a demented leftist isn’t great for you or the country you’re supposedly running. Shocker. The Biden administration is set to release long-awaited rule changes for the sale of ghost guns under growing pressure to crack down on a nationwide spike in the use of the deadly weapons. The new rules, which could be unveiled as soon as Monday, are designed to get privately made firearms without serial numbers off the streets, three people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. The stiffer measures would require firearms dealers to run background checks before they sell ghost gun kits that contain the necessary parts needed to assemble a firearm.

I was mad when a judge ruled that America’s most famous convicted race-crime hoaxer, Jussie Smollett, was allowed to walk out of jail after he all but defecated on our judicial system. Don’t you love how the once-successful actor plays two victim cards, black and gay, in one rant? If only he would put that into a rap song.
Say WHAT?
He did!
In what is probably the most painful 1 minute, 40 seconds you’ll endure this month, Smollett used some of his free time from the hoosegow to rap about his innocence, throw love to his few remaining supporters, and play THREE victim cards. Check out this mad poetry, yo!

Often I wonder why I stay on Twitter. Though I like the fast-breaking news tips, the toxic stupidity, particularly among the “verified account” set, makes you wonder if the noise-to-signal ratio is high enough to bother logging in. But, then, every once in a while, there is a classic self-own that has to be seen to be believed.
If you followed the Antifa riots and insurrections over the past few years, but particularly during the summer of 2020, you know who Andy Ngo is. Andy is inarguably the most courageous voice in journalism today if the measure of courage is still putting oneself in physical danger

By the time FDA officials figured out it was spinach that was making people sick in 10 states – sending three people into kidney failure – it was too late. It was mid-November 2021 and the packaged salad’s short shelf life had passed. There was no recall. By the time FDA officials got inspectors on the ground, spinach season was over. The fields and the production facilities were empty, which made it impossible to pinpoint the source of contamination. Whatever caused the outbreak was likely never fixed.

The Walt Disney Company is one of the most powerful corporations in Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis is a rising political star in the political party that dominates the state. Despite that self-evident truth, Disney unwisely — perhaps stupidly — challenged the governor to fight back when it came out against the Parental Rights in Education bill, which opponents have deliberately misnamed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
According to this article in The Grid, Disney exercised its considerable power and influence under the radar and behind the scenes — until now.

The Motion Picture Academy’s decision to ban Will Smith from Oscar ceremonies and events for 10 years as discipline for slapping Chris Rock is little more than an extended time out for a playground bully. It’s a toothless penalty that lays bare the shallowness of Hollywood morals.
At this point, the only person who can redeem the integrity of the Oscars is Smith himself. He needs to come to grips with the gravity of the offense he committed: slapping Rock, live on March 27 in front of millions on the Academy Awards stage. Smith needs to express-mail his golden trophy back to the Academy and publicly state something to the effect of: “Out of respect

The reports and photographs showing an apparent massacre in Bucha, Ukraine, are truly terrible.(snip)Of course, pictures do not always tell the whole story. For example, to determine whether a war crime took place we must know who did the killing, why, and how.(snip)If civilians were shot and purposefully killed in Bucha, it undoubtedly would be a war crime and a terrible thing. But there are credible reasons to believe the so-called Bucha Massacre was not the doing of the Russian Forces, but rather of the Ukrainians—either local militia or SBU or some combination of thereof—as part of brutal reprisals against “saboteurs” and “Russian collaborators.”

Tuesday’s public hearing began with statements by the respective primary sponsors of the bills that seek to ban dark money from elections, with Sen. Lisa Baker speaking in support of Senate Bill 982 and Rep. Eric Nelson encouraging passage of House Bill 2044.

I’m not quite sure how it was that Kamala Harris managed to snag the position she has now. She was kicked to the curb early by the Democrat electorate — but to the elites behind the scenes, making the choices, that meant “make her the number 2 behind Joe Biden.” So, while no one wanted her when she ran for President, here she is, perched a heartbeat away from someone who has enough issues to float a boat.
However, one of the few things that might be holding off some people from screaming “25th Amendment” about Joe Biden is that Kamala Harris as President would be the result.

Selling Marxism has been a tough row to hoe in America, though that's not to say that those selling it haven't made inroads toward getting us there. But our laissez faire roots and inherent disdain for the anti-freedom control mechanisms needed to sustain outright communism have made it difficult for the peddlers to find the necessary buyers over the years. That's why they've gotten creative in recent decades, finding their magic beans, so to speak, by suggesting that "people of color" tend to be financially less well-off than white people, thereby establishing racial inequity as a substitute for class struggle.

There has been some good news on the legislative front in the past week. But unfortunately, there are still a number of bills and regulatory policies pending that could change the very nature of a pandemic response worldwide. Policy that would allow public health to easily gain control of government during a bio-threat emergency. Policy that might allow public health to be weaponized for other purposes. What happens when emergency powers are written so that they can be granted for a severe flu season? Could we expect lock downs, masks, mandatory vaccination, censorship, propaganda and social distancing as seasonal events? What happens when there is civil unrest and these measures

Donald Trump held a rally in North Carolina on Saturday night, but it wasn’t the normal theatrics and hilarity that the former president delivers that made the biggest impression. Rather, it was an endorsement that seems to have come out of nowhere, and I’ll go so far as to say it may be his worst ever (yes, worse than Morgan Ortega) — at least as a Republican politician.
Honestly, I know some people take umbrage with anyone ever questioning Trump’s decision-making, but this is truly a head-scratching moment.
I’m not sure offering endorsements to people based on them being on TV for a long time is the best strategy.

Friday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) suggested there was a possibility of a double standard for Democratic politicians and the public for receiving monoclonal antibodies.
The Kentucky Republican U.S. Senator asked if recently COVID-diagnosed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had received those therapies while they were restricted for those in the general public.
“What’s even worse than that it’s not just production which is controlled by the government,” he said. “It’s also the fact that they’ve actually withdrawn the Sotrovimab.

Science is in its worst state since the burning of Giordano Bruno (1600) and the trial and conviction of Galileo (1633). The wounds it has suffered are largely self-inflicted. Science advances by questioning the current state of knowledge and by attempting to fill the gaps identified by examination of the germane data pertinent to the discipline. Any attempt to stifle vigorous—even if heated—debate is an assault on science. Over the past three decades dissent from what some consider orthodox scientific theories has been ridiculed rather than refuted.

Last week I learned from a neighbor that Donald Trump deliberately allowed the Biden-Harris ticket to win the 2020 election so they could destroy the Democrats with stupid policies. I also learned that only a biologist can define a woman from the now confirmed nominee for a not-yet-vacant seat on the Supreme Court who was selected by President Biden because she was a Black woman. (Maybe he had a biologist on his staff to help him decide this.) Speaking of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, I remembered that once again Democrats, including Biden, have taken credit for minority appointments

For some time now, China has presented itself as a rapidly ascending nation that is completely in charge of its destiny and one that escaped COVID with little harm. However, that appearance may be illusory and China may be more unstable than the image it promotes to the world. (snip) You don’t have an effective Zero COVID policy when your largest city (Shanghai) has such an aggressive COVID outbreak that you lockdown all 26 million people. And you don’t have a stable regime when those 26 million people claim that, in service to that draconian lockdown, they’re beginning to starve to death.

During the first week of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when Allahpundit was examining how Putin’s plan was already turning into a historic debacle, he speculated about one of the many unintended consequences Russia might be facing. He described how both Finland and Sweden had “resisted joining NATO for decades so as not to provoke Russia.” And it was a plan that had been working pretty well for them, at least until Putin apparently lost his mind. As recently as last October, Putin had been meeting with Finland’s president, Sauli Niinisto, to discuss bilateral agreements and climate change. But barely six months later, both Finland and Sweden are
